Just used a dairy creamer this AM and noticed residue floating in the coffee. Checked the dairy creamer and the«use by’ date is Sept. 142014. Sept 14… This has not set in my refrig for 7+ months. It was purchased recently. But this does not really surprise me. This is about the 4th time that I have noticed out of date products after purchase. #1, a quart of Orange Juice caught by the checker(she took it back to the dairy and obtain a different but all OJ quarts were beyond purchase date). #2, a quart of Apple Juice originally located in the Produce section but now in the cold case. #3, a quart of milk which was sour. I have complained on different occasions but nothing changes here.

Very pleased with this store. It took me awhile to give it a try but when I did I was pleasantly surprised. While I can’t do all my grocery shopping here since the selection varies, I can still get done great items for amazing prices. Glad I have this place a shot!

November 11, 2014 Who am I to not provide Unilocalers with some insight into the newest grocery store in the Carson Valley? It’s new, and a review needs to be done. First, and this is important, it’s open and employing people. I must have gotten to say hello to six people in my brief visit, and everybody was upbeat and helpful. I asked for a business card, heck, if I’m going to Unilocal the place I need to be able to do it accurately. Asking for a business card brought the owner of the place over, as the Grocery Outlet is a franchise. This really surprised me, as I had assumed that it was a chain. He was a friendly man and he took the time to explain just a bit about the company, most are independently owned and operated, with just a couple of corporate stores(if I got it correctly). Another big plus for me, it was clean and well lit. This attention to detail is appreciated, and it made me feel comfortable as I looked around the store. The wine is located in the front of the store, and this helps to save steps when in a hurry. Beyond that, there was a big tub to put food in for the local food closet, and a plethora of other items that made the store attractive. There are a lot of brands that you know by name, but there are a number that may be new to you. This doesn’t bother me a lot, but you might find it problematic. Who really is «Dr. Shasta». How are the prices? They seemed very reasonable to me. This is a nice addition to town, and it’s great to see people employed where a business had left a vacant space. Best of luck to the Grocery Outlet.
