Cute small town, my family normally vacations in neighboring rockaway, but Garibaldi is a classic small beach town with a very quiet vibe.

A tiny town that is proud of its heritage. Its one of those places you’d expect to see a plaque that says something like, «In June 1855, nothing happened here». While there is little in the way of food establishments or entertainment(3 days here, we discovered you can pretty much see all there is to see in one day), the scenery is quietly gorgeous, the weather typical for the Oregon coast, the beaches pristine, and other than the warning signs for tsunamis, there is really little to worry about. There is a Maritime museum, a few restaurants(the seafood is so fresh), 3 – 4 hotels, and you can go on a crabbing, clamming or fishing excursion nearby. Once that is over, you can make a short drive south to the dairylands surrounding Tillamook, or north to several other quaint coastal towns. And… just doing my Unilocalers duty… one weekend in March there are them-there Crab Races, ya know! Honestly, I bet that is quite a kicker. So, the other 51 weeks of the year, prepare to just kick back and relax, or go for a walk on the beach. And make sure you bring the camera along for that irresistable shot of the sinking sun.
