One of the local places we often go for lunch. Always good service and food for a good value. Nothing special but in dozens of visits we have never been let down.

I hesitate in writing this review only because I will be giving away the best kept secret in town. However, food and service this good should be recognized. I booked my son’s wedding rehearsal dinner several months before time. Michael and I spoke in detail about date, time, food, and seating. I called a week before the event and spoke with Ameet and everything was in place. No detail lost. The night of the dinner, the fajitas were amazing and they served about 40 of us all at the same time. The food, if possible, was only out done by the service. A great place to have any event.

I’ve eaten here many times with both co-workers, friends and family. I am not a big fan of Mexican food but I do love this place. The staff are friendly and fast and the food is top notch. I’ve never had a meal I didn’t like and I’ve tried quite a few things off the menu. My favorite are the Desparados beef tacos. They are to die for!

The best house margaritas in Dallas! The food is amazing! Ask for the bacon wrapped BBQ shrimp. Best sour cream chicken enchiladas!

My husband and I come here often. The service can be a bit slow at times but the food and drinks never disappoint. The servers are always friendly. I have had their beef fajitas, beef nachos, tacos al carbon, and several appetizers. Our favorite is the stuffed jalapeños. They have chicken and cheese inside. Very good. The tacos al carbon is very good. Be sure to the chimichurri sauce. The drinks are always cold. The best part is the sopapillas. They are so fresh and good. Don’t leave without them.

Sampler platter for just a lite night was ok. Nothing to order again. Waiter was pretty slow and even disappeared toward the end of our meal.

Came here last night with the bf and friends. Our waiter was very friendly. We were presented chips and individual cups salsa almost immediately upon seating. Texas Tornado: frozen margarita with a splash of sangria. Very delightful and well presented. Camarones Acapulcos: shrimp wrapped in bacon and baked with cheese, comes with a side of guac in a fried chip bowl and mexican rice. Nachos: minced beef with cheese on fried chips, comes with guac too. Overall experience was great. Sadly they close early at 9:30pm. Our Texas Tornado was $ 3.25 on happy hour instead of $ 6.99 :D

My favorite Mexican restaurant for over many years! Desperados is like a second home to me the customer service is always excellent and there is always something different on the menu I can try. It’s a great place to go to for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. The Desperdos tacos are my go-to and my personal favorite especially when served with their bean soup! I also recommend the chicken tortilla soup it’s wonderful any time of the year and also the Ensalada De Sonora!

Large party of 16. Service was EXCELLENT! All food was perfect and delicious! I had the carne asada with some kind of cheese on it, beans & potatos… delish! Meat was so tender! Wrapped the beans into a corn torilla and thought I went to heaven. Sopapillas and flan for dessert and it was so good, I thought I saw God when eating. Prices are very fair — not cheap, but the food isn’t cheap either, definitely not expensive either. I think the carne asada was $ 16.99. Margaritas were GREAT! Will definitely return!

STOPTHESMOKING!!! The food is great. The drinks are awesome! Luis is human gold!!! BUT the amount of cigarette smoke I’m subjected to for patronizing your restuarant is lethal. Second hand smoke causes cancer and lung disease. Its just unfair that patrons be subject to such a liability. Please do something about this. After leaving your restaurant my eyes are burning, clothes and hair are due for a major wash.

This is by far mine, and my family’s favorite restaurant in the world! We’ve been going here for years, unfortunately we live an hour away now but we still make the drive and pass a ton of other restaurants because we love this place so much! Great food, great margaritas, great prices, wonderful staff and great management!

Arriving at 11:30AM on a Sunday, we made it to the table without any major disappointments. I should have savored those first 30 seconds. The chips were bland. The salsa was jarred picante, probably their house brand(Pace is better); it lacked character, unless whole cilantro leaves and stems could be considered character. Only a margarita could salvage this dining experience. What? The bartender hasn’t arrived yet? Can anyone remember the 3 ingredients for a margarita? Apparently not. The shell for the puffed taco was stale, and the cheese in the enchilada was not melted. It wasn’t all bad — I liked the rice, and Jayne liked her tacos … so there’s that.

Pollo Santa Rosa I’ve been here twice while visiting my best friend in Allen, TX. The staff and service were fantastic both times. The atmosphere is festive and fun and the wait isn’t usually more than 20 minutes. Two qualities I really like in a restaurant. I wanted something different than the usual Mexican dishes. I asked our waiter to explain some of the chicken dishes. He explained the ingredients in several of the dishes for me. I decided on the Pollo Santa Rosa. Pollo Santa Rosa is a grilled chicken breast topped with their signature Yucateco sauce. The Yucateco sauce. It is served with rice, zucchini, and guacamole. It was amazing. It will be very difficult to order anything but this on my return visits but I may have to force myself due to the large selection of entrees.

I have been going here since I was a kid and absolutely love it! It has friendly staff and great food. Sometimes the food can be a little slow to come out, but its worth it for the quality! A great neighborhood Mexican restaurant for sure. The drinks are superb too!

My co-workers and I come here nearly every single week for lunch. What keeps us coming back now(so often that several staff members know our somewhat particular orders without even asking) is a friendly and attentive staff, fair prices, and really good food. Salsa is just right. Not too thin and oily, not too chunky. Think marinara style consistency(but not flavor of course!) My personal favorite are the chicken enchiladas, but my coworkers swear by the fajitas!

Fun, friendly, family like atmosphere. Great service by Fernando and all their staff. My wife had cheese enchiladas and I had Pollo Santa Rosa. Both were delicious, and the sopapillas were excellent. This was our first visit, but we will be back, soon and often.

First, I’ll say that this place made a fantastic margarita on the rocks. It was on the small side, but for $ 5 it was strong and delicious! Their chips are great, and actually seasoned which is rare when restaurants make their own! I had a great experience with the staff, friendly and prompt, and my friend and I didn’t wait long for food. I just wish that they had cooked my flautas a little less. They came out almost a dark brown and so overcooked that the meat inside had shrunk to almost nothing. I had good company so I wasn’t going to complain, and my friend liked his enchiladas, so I guess they can cook other dishes! I recommend ordering the enchiladas based on my friend’s experience and avoid the flautas!

Wow! This place is fantastic. The margaritas are cheap and delicious. The shrimp ceviche appetizer was delicious, fresh and simple. I wanted to drink up the tomato sauce. I always get the fajitas at a new Mexican restaurant to test the quality of the meat. The meat was thick but not fatty. The marinade was subtle but flavorful. The portions are large. I had half a meal to go. The atmosphere was busy and fun without feeling too«hip». It was a great casual meal where you could still hear the people at your table. I will be back for sure!
