One of my favorite coffee shops, hands down. I love the food, the space, and how it’s in downtown garland surrounded by cute little shops and a local theatre. What makes this place different in my opinion is that they have«special» drinks they come up with themselves! Love it!

It was pretty busy because of a parade that morning so it took about 10 minutes to get my candy cane latte. Besides the wait time, they did offer a milk alternative-almond milk! The place was very large, had several tables, local artwork and a good vibe. My scone was supposed to be blueberry but I ended up with an orange cranberry instead. It was a perfect crumble. So they arent perfect. I still plan to return for a coffe date with my dad to listen to a beatles cover band! I have been to the original Starbucks in Seattle and this place has the same authentic but Texan twist. Support your local Texas buisnesses!

A big thanks to Lindsey and the folks at Generator. We held our daughter’s wedding reception there last Sunday and the event was a hit. Her willingness to work with us and the charm of the venue helped deliver the experience my wife and daughter were looking for. I can’t say enough about how pleased we are with the folks at Generator. And the Chocolate Fudge pies made fantastic groom’s cake. They were the bomb!

Overall: Mind blowing establishment that oozes character and delivers the tastiest coffee in creation. This what a coffee house should be like. Drinks/Food: My iced Americano was wickedly strong and tasty. Later on, I also had Benjamin’s Gingermen Latte, which was rich and soothing. This places gets the coffee right in all the right places. Prices are very reasonable as well. The local branch of Frost bank treats all patrons to a drink of their choice on the 3rd Tuesday of every month from 8−10AM. Very generous of them to give back to the community. Service: Shout out to Ben and Ashley for being my coffee ambassadors. Great service and a warm guide to their tasty menu choices. Seating: Almost overly generous seating options. The tables are very large for a coffee shop and you can easily spread out and make yourself at home. One might say that the tables are a bit too large though. If they sized the tables down and put more of them in, it would result in more efficient usage of space. That said, it’s SO roomy. Love it, love it, love it! WiFi/Power: The WiFi is pretty awful. It’s both unstable and slow The base speed they’re working with is about onlyh a measly 5Mbps, but the interference is from locating the access point far back in the store is about 1.5Mbps. I had to bring my own range extender to be sure it was this. Once they fix the speed, I would love to give that 5th star to them. Good amounts of power outlets along the walls on both sides. Parking: 3 hours spots outside on the street in front of the store. The row across the street is not time. There is also a parking garage the next block over. Atmosphere: If you love warm and fuzzy, this place is for you. The walls are brick and the floors are classic wood. Lights strung across the ceilings and ceiliing

This place has great coffee and a great atmosphere, but every time, the food takes TOOLONG. I mean they’re grilled sandwiches! It took over 40, yes, FORTYMINUTES for two sandwiches. Every time I go back, I’m hoping that there’s just an inkling of a sense of urgency. NOPE.

Pros: Location is great. There is a lot of space, so great place to come with friends or by yourself. They have a Texas pecan brew from Addison Roasters that is good. Cons: Most of the people who work there are young, clueless, and do not have an understanding of good customer service, so interacting with them can be frustrating. Food is good, but overpriced based off quality and portion. Overall, I recommend going here when you’re not hungry, you want decent(not great) coffee, and a place to do work or meet with friends.

I really enjoyed this place! The overall atmosphere is nice and I loved the entire layout. The coffee was great and I love that they offer some that taste like a honey bun. My bf loves sweets so this hit the spot for him. Since this is located in downtown it isn’t exactly open it late like most coffee lovers prefer. Otherwise I would say it’s a neat hang out that has some pretty good coffee !

I work in downtown Garland and used to frequent the Generator as it is in walking distance to my workplace but not anymore. 1. Food takes too long to get for lunch hour. 2. Drinks are priced differently depending on who takes the order. 3. Drinks are not consistent. 4. Sour-faced girl who takes orders. The last straw was a day when Sour-Faced girl was taking orders and making drinks. My friend ordered iced coffee with almond milk. The almond milk curdled in the coffee. She went up and showed Sour-Faced girl. Sour-Face said, «that’s just how it is» and turned her back and walked away. Another person took over the register and my friend showed her the drink. The new person got my friend a new coffee(no milk this time). The drink I ordered was a mixed frappucino-type drink. It was disgusting, all syrup. I didn’t want to fight with Sour-Face so I threw it away and left. My co-workers and I would rather get in our cars and drive to Starbucks at Firewheel than deal with the incompetence and rudeness at the Generator. Wish I could support a small business. They need to hire better people and get better at training them. Customer service is important. Sour-Face is going to ruin your business.

The food is not bad, me and my friends have been there a few times for lunch and is such a pretty place. Today we went, really nice guy took our orders. I ordered a blt that was really good and a chicken noodle soup that I didnt get so I decided to go to the register and just ask if I can get a credit for next time and the girl gave me a «look» like I was a bother. I have manners and asked nicely she was so rude, like wow! I felt so uncomfortable like I was doing something wrong. I really hope this girl doesn’t treat other customers like that maybe she didn’t like me going up there to ask if I could get a credit who knows, I wish I would’ve gotten her name.

Love this charming little place. The quiche is fabulous. We went on pie day and the coconut cream was outta this world. Loved that they had games at the location that you could bring to your table to play. They don’t have fountain soda but do sell glass bottled cokes.

No mugs, just paper and plastic cups for coffee. Kind of disappointing since porcelain mugs or glass cups always make me feel more right at home instead of feeling like I’m always on the go. The weird thing is that they SELL mugs. Great atmosphere and plenty of plugs — great study spot. Healthy food at decent prices considering the portions. Cute vibe and I like that they have live music. Great idea to soothe souls. Definitely more of a community hangout space, sans the alcohol. I can see this being a fun place to be. Coffee comes from the local Addison Coffee Roasters. UPDATE: I ordered a cortadito and they made me a Cuban café con leche?! Maybe they do it the Cuban way here, cortadito style. Confirmed that they do add sugar to their cortadito. I was also informed that they also make the café cubano(espresso with sugar), which isn’t listed in the menu.

I absolutely LOVE this place. The ambiance is mellow, the coffee is good, the service was nice, and the food was delicious. It’s a great place to study, read a book, chat with friends, and play board games, etc. They have a good amount of outlets near the tables, which is what I hoped they would have. The couches looked comfortable to chill and read a book on. The menu was simple and easy to read. Ordering was quick and easy. The employee was nice and explained how things worked. She made my caramel macchiato, and called it out for me to get. I received a number for my food, and she brought my panini out for me. The coffee and food met my expectations. They also have a chalkboard sign when you first walk in with the shows that they have on certain days. If I lived closer to this place, I would totally go. I mean, who wouldn’t like a free show and some coffee to go with it?! I need to come back and try more of their drinks and food!

I absolutely adore the décor and ambiance of Generator’s. The lighting is that perfect buttery yellow that allows you to laboriously study for hours without straining your eyes. There are outlets everywhere and couches available if you don’t want to sit at a table. The service is superb because the people there truly want you to understand what you’re ordering. As much as I love Generator as a study nook, I don’t think that the coffee flavor is strong enough for my taste. I’ve ordered the Pumpkin Chai Latte and tried some of my friends Caramel Macchiato and on both occasions the taste left more to be desired. That ratio of cream to coffee was too high for my liking. I appreciate that they have a VERY light hand with sugar. Trust me when I say light. I don’t like sugary things very much and Generator sweetens it just perfectly for my taste. If you have a sweet tooth just walk your way over to the sugar stand and fix it up to your liking. I’ve had the Veggie Panini(with pepper jack) and I must say that it really hits the spot when you’re hungry. The bread is pressed wonderfully crispy and the cheese melted just right. I look forward to trying the treats that are in the display case as well as the other food options they have. I’ll definitely be back to Generators because I love supporting the locals. It doesn’t hurt that the food here is good and the ambiance is perfect for studying. As for the coffee I think I’ll stick to black. 3 and ½ stars
