This place is the worst. Particularly the drive thru. Some of the people don’t appear to understand English. Others seem simply unable to to take an order. Unable to answer simple questions about the menue. And to my supprise the mgr. had difficulty with English too. They failed to give me a receipt. And after demanding one, I discovered they had way over charged me.

We used the drive thru and it was fairly quick, and reasonably clean. Our order was correct. Everything was the appropriate temperature. I don’t have any complaints for this visit. This location has a habit of falling into the Mickey D practice of reheating food to keep it warm to push the companies from heat to street in 15 minutes guideline.(if an item has not been purchased it within 15 minutes of coming off of heat and going under the heat lamps, it is suppose to be thrown out. Some places reheat to push this rule.) We did not find this to be the issue for this visit.

I figured I’d check out the Micky D’s that I grew up going to before I moved out of Garland. I remember back in the mid 80’s when this place was first built and it was the first in the area with an indoor Playplace and it was kick ass! My lil bro and I would play in the balls and go through all the tunnels, slides, and netting after we finished our Happy Meals. We were treated to Micky D’s for dinner or breakfast when our parents were being lazy or when we begged like no other so we could get the latest toy that came with the Happy Meals. These toys were awesome and then somehow we’d end up losing them in trades we made during recess at school. Oh well, we had a fun time playing with those toys and we had to capitalize on the newness of those toys before they got wise. Jumping to my high school years, me and my car pool friend would stop by here for breakfast and then for early dinner before our marching band practices since the Micky D’s was right behind our school parking lot. We did a lot of stupid stuff here. We would spin pennies on the table and smack the salt and pepper shakers on top of the plastic shakers to bust a hole in the bottom of them for the next unsuspecting user. We’d go through their whole stock of straws and wind them up to make extremely loud popping noises. Since our school was closed campus for lunch we’d take orders from our friends and slip out to buy food and keep the change as for our«convenience fee.» This Micky D’s is now part of the Bailbrook franchise and the interior is elegant looking contrasting from how they were in the 80’s. Food here is just like any other Micky D’s, pretty consistent with taste, flavor, and service. Even though this is a Mc Donald’s it still holds a special place in my heart. Good times.
