Northstar Tailor Shop

If I could give NorthstarTailor something lower than a one star, I would. Do not take anything to these people unless it’s just to have a cuff hemmed or a sleeve shortened. Even then be very skeptical and measure, measure, measure. I needed a suit jacket altered. I was assured by the woman who does the alterations, that she could make the jacket fit perfectly. However, that was not to be. First, part of the sleeve was caught in the seam making a tuck in the shoulder of the jacket. Secondly, the jacket was so tight across the shoulders I could not raise my arms. When I showed her the mistakes, she acted as though she could not understand nor see what I was indicating. Finally after much haggling, she agreed to redo the work on the jacket. When I picked it up later, there really was not any difference in the fit. I gave up and cut my losses. There are too many other places to have alterations and tailoring. Seek them out.

This tailor has 0 skills when it comes to alterations. My fiancé had a suit he needed tailored– nothing super complicated, just the sleeves needed shortened. Understandably, she took up the sleeves from the shoulders. Not only did she sew them back on crooked, but she also sewed over the shoulder pads when they were folded, making for huge indentions in the shoulders. We took it back to get it fixed TWICE, and neither time was she able to fix what she did. Now we are paying for another tailor to mend what she messed up…

I brought a suit into the shop to be tailored. I requested that the waist of the pants be let out and that the suit jacket be taken in slightly in the back.
Upon receiving my garment the next week, I noticed that there was an indentation in the left shoulder pad of my suit jacket. I took the jacket to a tailor closer to where I lived who opened up the lining to reveal that there were 2 places where the stitching had caught.
Later, when I finally wore the suit to an event for the first time, I noticed that I could not lift or cross my arms because the tailor had taken in the back of my suit far too much. Additionally, the back panel of my suit was sewn in unevenly, causing one side to bunch.
I took the suit back into the tailor and showed her the issues I was having, and after debating with her about the legitimacy of my issue, she finally agreed to fix it and told me to come pick it up later that day.
After picking the suit up, I have realized it is no better than it was when I dropped it off.
I took in a suit that just needed a couple of changes and ended up with a garment that was unwearable.
