Used to think very highly of Richardson Mechanical. I have used them 4 times since 2013 and have always been impressed with their timely service and reasonable charges for services rendered. However, things have certainly changed. I called them on aThursday 11÷19÷15 and scheduled an appointment with Lance(never have dealt with him in the past) to service my furnace the following day. No one arrives for the appointment and no phone calls to explain the no show. So on Saturday I leave a message with the owner on when to expect service. Owner calls back and apologizes and said I was not put on the board for an appointment. We reschedule for Monday afternoon to replace a fan control board. I gave them the part number of the board and model number of the furnace. Researched the price of the board and the highest I could find was $ 140 and figured that this call would not exceed $ 500. Boy was I surprised when I was presented a bill for $ 740 after the work was completed. Their pricing has definitely increased and are now charging on the extreme high side. So if you schedule work from them definitely ask for a quote before letting them perform any service. I did not and paid a steep price for not doing so.(Never needed to in the past, they were always fair!) Sorry to say I will be looking elsewhere for future HVAC work.

I had used Richardson A/C last year to troubleshoot a cooling problem at home. I was unimpressed with the explanation the technician gave me, and was left with the feeling that he didn’t care too much about the work he was doing. Also, he performed«services» without asking me first, handing me a bill at the end that I wasn’t expecting.
