Very knowledgeable staff! We visit Roaches frequently and they will always help with specific needs, and suggest solutions to common things the big box stores are clueless about.

This place is AWSOME. I completely love everything about it and the people who staff it. Everyone is so nice and helpful. They are also knowledgeable to boot. They mainly sell feed, but also so much more. They sell garden plants, fertilizer, chickens, ducks, rabbits, and more. They seem like a place that time forgot and I love it.
Even if you don’t need anything in particular and are in the downtown Garland area, stop on in and see what they have. I bet you will come out with something purchased. They helped us so much getting our grass to grow.

I look forward to my dogs running out of dog food so I can go back! I love everything about Roach Feed & Seed from the original feed store building to the knowledgeable, friendly staff to the wonderful array of products to the sweet owner (who is always making sure you are being taken care of and assisted). As others on here have said it’s a sweet reminder of days gone by and you’ll love it when you go, but be careful ’cause you might find yourself overfeeding your pets just so you can hurry back there! :)

Anytime I have needed something for my yard or garden — this place has exactly what I need. They never fail me. I even splurge and pic up treats n goodies for the pets!

Great feed store! When we got our goat, Billy, our vet recommended Roach Feed & Seed. The folks at Roach recommended goat food and goat treats, mineral supplements and dewormer… A year and a half later and Billy is doing great. Billy loves the goat food from Roach almost as much as the poison ivy in the backyard…

the folks that work here are just fantastic. we’re new to the backyard chicken world so every time the weather changes or a chicken acts odd the crew here is always so helpful. they have a really nice organic pellet for the girls and it’s CHEAPER than the alternative. i can’t wait for spring so we can get our seed/​seedlings for the garden!

Visited this place a few weeks ago to pick up some seeds for my Fall garden. I was AMAZED at the amount of service and advice I got. The girl helping me was so incredibly knowledgeable and she gave me all sorts of pointers on getting my garden started. I highly recommend this place if you need seeds, supplements, etc for your garden.

Seriously… if you are planting a garden or maybe just a tomato plant, take the time to visit Roach. It is fantastic, reminds me of going to the feed and seed in East Texas. The people that work here are super friendly and really knowledgable. I just picked up some texas sweet red onions and cauliflower (eeew, but if we grow it, the kids might try it ;) It is a great place to get pets and pet food.

Walking in the place is like stepping back in time. It sits next to some train tracks on the edge of downtown Garland. It really is a relic of a bygone era when people shopped small locally owned retailers and not massive big box stores. The wooden porch/​sidewalk out front reminds me of an old western town. Inside they still have the original yellowing permit hanging on the wall that must be decades old. They sell various products for the care of both house pets and live stock. They have pet food, bird seed, plant seeds, live plants and even a few live animals.

All you city slickers need to check it out before this kind of thing goes away. Also a good place to get bulk feed for your rabbits or other critters. Save money, have fun!

I love Roach Feed & Seed! Located in downtown Garland, it’s a perfect location to grab what you need and be on your way. Anything from vitamins for your horses or other livestock to garden plants… you’ll find it all at Roach Feed & Seed.
There is an interesting little pet shop on the premises which has the mosts adorable parakeets, finches, and many other cuties. The staff will guide you through your experience if you’re unsure of what you’ll need for your new pet. It’s a friendly environment!
What I love about this place is you can purchase your bird food (seeds) in as large or small a quantity as you’d like. This is a great way to keep the freshest supply for your birds and other small animals.
