We love our Sleep Number Bed… so this review is NOT about the bed; it’s about the STORE. I went into the store and purchased a Sleep Number bed. The Store Manager suggested putting the purchase on the store financing due to the 6-months; Zero Interest Promotion. I said, «So, I just need to pay the balance in 6-months to avoid the interest charges?» He replied, «Yes, or given that moving is expensive, if you need longer, just transfer into another program with GE which will keep the interest at 0% or at least very low compared to the regular interest rate.» This was a lie. GE says there is no such program. They started billing me at 29.9% interest retro-active all the way back to the original purchase amount. I was outraged. After demanding to speak with a manager at GE Capital, I was given the option to have the pro-rated interest waived if I pay off the balance before the next billing cycle. However, it took yelling like an idiot to get that. Their initial response was, «sorry. the promotion is the promotion.» I went in prepared to write a check to begin with… but the manager was right, moving half-way across the country is expensive and using the free interest would have been the same. I would have paid off the amount in full by the end of 6-months if he had not lied to me about being able to move to a different program. I was also told that in Texas if you have a prescription for the bed, then you don’t have to pay sales tax. My chiropractor, who recommended the Sleep Number, did write me a prescription. The Manager had me to call her office right from the store. He told me when the prescription came in just to fax it over to the store(gave me his business card and everything) and he would make sure the sales tax was taken off the account; another lie. That amount was never deducted from my account despite the fact that the fax was transmitted successfully. Sleep Number Beds are manufactured and shipped from a warehouse in Minnesota, if memory serves correctly. So, even if you live in Garland, TX, please do not give this dishonest store your business; you don’t gain anything by purchasing it close to your home. Drive over to Plano, there is a store in Collin Creek Mall… or go to any other store. They may lie to you as well, but my experience is isolated to this store. When we get ready to add on the mechanism to raise and lower the head and foot of the bed we won’t buy it here. I wouldn’t even buy a new pillowcase from this store! Buyer Beware.
