I developed chronic IT band syndrome in April of 2007 and was resigned to the think that I’d never be able to run again. I was referred to Dr. Horwitz by friend and Nationally ranked triathlete two years ago, but never made the call. As I hobbled across the finish line after a grueling run leg of Eagleman 70.3 this past June, I was determined to find a doctor that could help me, so I located Dr. Horwitz’s business card, and placed a call to Capital Sports Injury Center. Dr. Horwitz assessed my injury, and put me on a recovery plan that included Active Release Therapy(ART) twice a week, and once a week with Jason Screiber for strength and corrective exercises. Dr. Horwitz(and Jason) did for me in five months what three different Orthopedic Surgeons, four different physical therapists, two different acupuncturists, one year of yoga, six months of Pilates, a personal strength trainer, a professional gait analysis, a professional bike fit for both my triathlon and road bikes, two MRIs and one cortisone injection couldn’t do for me over the course of three years! He is the very best at what it is that he does and he takes his job and healing his patients seriously. His professionalism knows no bounds, and he truly cares about his patients, which is demonstrated through his active interest in his patient’s well-being. I cannot begin to thank Dr. Horwitz and his staff enough. I am recovered. I’m running again and looking forward to a fast and pain free triathlon season in 2011.
