My experience with this place was horrid — I’ll lay out events in a timeline: 10⁄20 — I call Stone Age and ask about their hours, because I wanted to stop by that day and look at remnants. The employee I spoke with stated their hours — not mentioning they would be closed for lunch during this time. I show up to find the office closed due to the unmentioned lunch, no note on the locked door. Once the office returned from lunch(seemed to be ~3 employees that all left and closed up the office without notice) I discussed the job with Denise and she wrote me a quote. The quote was significantly higher than other quotes I’ve received for the same job, and I noticed later that she had billed me for more material than I would be using, so I decided to call back and discuss it with her. 10⁄23 — I get ahold of Denise after a couple of attempts and we discuss the job and the quote. Long story short she states the lowest amount she is willing to do the job for. This was after she complained about it being a small job and basically said the company has bigger fish to fry. She agreed to write up the new quote for and e-mail it to me. 10⁄26 — In the afternoon I call to check on the quote because Denise had not sent it. She is unavailable and her co-worker tells me that she checked with Denise and I will get it in «a day or so.» 10⁄28 — I call twice during the day to check on the quote because I had not received it. She is unavailable and I talk to her co-worker again. The co-worker tells me no one else can handle sending me the quote, she doesn’t know when Denise will be available because she is very busy, and she will leave a note on her desk. 10⁄29 — Denise e-mails me the quote without explanation for more than the amount we had agreed to on 10⁄23. I call her cell phone to discuss and she said she talked with the owner after we talked and the owner stated the minimum for the material I wanted was the higher amount. At this point I tell Denise thanks, but no thanks, and thank her for her time. OVERALL: I understand smaller jobs may have lower margin, but if you don’t want to deal with small jobs say so on the front end so that no one wastes their time. At least don’t complain about the job being small and that you have bigger and better jobs to do, that’s wildly unprofessional. It’s questionable that the salesperson didn’t know what the owner’s minimum was for the material under discussion — especially after she went to check on pricing before giving me the first quote(which was higher even than the owner’s minimum due to her writing up an inaccurate amount of material). I like to judge companies not on how they treat big jobs but on how well they treat small ones. Most places are good at customer service when there’s large amounts of money involved — but only the good places give good customer service across the board, and Stone Age failed in my case.

Absolutely the worst experience! We were referred to Stone Age by a contractor that does a lot of work for us. Denise, with Stone Age, came out and I explained that we needed our granite to be cut, and installed. Additionally, I asked her to pick a backsplash that would look nice. She explained that they had some stuff in her warehouse that she thought would work. She sent us a quote, which we signed, and sent back. She then scheduled several appointments to have accurate measurements completed, that they completely no-showed for(approx 5 appointments). I re-arranged my schedule to accommodate her on so many occasions, just for her to not have the courtesy to let me know that they had to cancel. She then explained we didn’t provide enough granite for our backsplash – which was never what we wanted in the first place. She said she didn’t quote us that way, so would need to revise it. After getting so frustrated with her lack of organization, and constant lies, I passed her along to my husband who had the same exact experience that I did. He finally told her that we would no longer do business with them. Despite having our granite for several months, she immediately sent us an email letting us know we needed to remove our pieces bc they were in the way. When we asked to speak to the owner of the company, she would stonewall us by providing the office number, which she answered. My husband eventually had to physically go to their building to ask someone else for the owner’s business card. He talked to Dennis(owner), who asked for us to go ahead and allow them to complete the work. My husband agreed, as long as Denise no longer communicated with us. Of course, Denise sends us an email that had a lot of underlying tones that was not appreciated. To us, she was completely unprofessional, and exhibited terrible customer service skills. My only positives about the experience was the guys that installed. They did a great job, and were very professional. Just as I told the contractor that referred us, I would highly recommend using a different company. There are too many choices out there to have to deal with such poor customer service. Good luck!

Working with Tim was the best part about my stone age experience. I picked out a remnant for my bathrooms and wet bar and Tim totally took care of everything. Install could have gone better but Tim made it right. FYI1: If you have big mirrors behind your old bathroom back splash that are glued to the wall(or not glued just clipped) you should expect those to come down or be cracked upon install but be impressed if they don’t crack or can be put back up. I highly recommend. I’ll be using them again in my next house for sure and referring to any friends. FYI2: don’t expect to find a huge remnant piece and don’t be difficult when looking for one. If you have a small area and don’t care about bathrooms, etc. matching then look into their remnants but don’t waste their/your time trying to match remnants… just be ok with what is available.

Did a great job on my kitchen. Very reasonable. Found on Angie’s List. Granite countertop, backsplash, under-mount sink and disposal added.
