I am in the process of purchasing a home and was highly recommended Brian Moxley from Texstar Inspections (by my realtor) to inspect my future home. Prior to contacting Brian, I did my own research and was impressed by the various favorable comments others expressed on Unilocal and other review sites. My experience was equally positive.
Brian’s inspection was thorough, and well documented supported with photographs and illustrations. The engineer I forwarded the report to was also equally impressed. Unlike my experience with other inspectors, Brian took the time to walk me through his various findings and areas of concern. Several times he mentioned to not hesitate contacting him (or anyone viewing the report) if questions surfaced.
Brian enjoys his profession and takes pride in his work Without doubt; I will be contacting him for future homes I purchase, as well as recommending him to friends and family. My experience was excellent.

Texstar is amazing! This was our first experience with an inspector (first time home buyers) so we weren’t sure how it all worked. Brian was very informative and VERY helpful. We had to have the inspection done ASAP. He was able to accommodate within a day! We had the pleasure of meeting the folks we purchased the house from and they were very impressed with the inspection/​report as well. Their nickname for Brian…“The Shark”. I love it!

He even waited around for my trusted realtor to go over it with her while onsite. His report was thorough and detailed. He even included photos and thermal image reasoning. I really wanted to give Brian 5 Stars because he is SUCH a NICE guy. I was looking at purchasing 5 units (all with their own AC) and he quoted me $ 525 which was very good (only one other came close to that price).
However, 2 hour inspection, and took him 1 –hour to write a report (I know because he sent it 1 hour after then inspection, 55 page of which 95% were templates). Of the 5 AC units, his reviews were VERY general ie. «the indoor coil of the AC appear to be dirty and require cleaning» when I asked WHICH unit? he responded «all». But reading the rest of the report, all of it was done in the same manner, which was VERY disappointing (my realtor said it was a joke).
Now, this was for an investment property — so a general overview wasn’t horrible, but still not acceptable. Had is been for my own residential, this would have been AWFUL.
So yes he is a professional, but I wouldn’t recommend. Not as a HOME-​BUYER.
