Worst customer service I have ever had. Plus after 4 months they raised my cost by $ 30 I can get a storage unit at another place for that much. If there was a no star selection I would have chooses that.

While I have never had a problem with the trucks/trailers I have rented from U-Haul, this last experience has me wondering what they are doing. The one center I stopped at did not have a truck, so they found another one at a fairly close location. When I got there, it said I had a van already rented and they couldn’t find the truck one. Thirty minutes later I was in the truck with a deposit of $ 75 on my debit card. I had to have the truck back in 4 hours. I had to pay a full day’s rental cost but had to have the truck back in 4 hours! Not happy but needed the truck. I did not get everything moved. When I returned the truck I asked to use another credit card to pay the balance. They said no, they couldn’t do that. Huh? But they issued the credit back to my card. So they said. I called the following week when the credit did not show up. Was told it was processed and was my bank’s fault. Called the bank, they did not show credit. Called again to both U-Haul and my bank the following week. Same story. Here it is almost 3 weeks later and no credit. And I got over-drafted for $ 34 because the credit never showed up. I called the store again(3rd time) and got transferred again to Customer Service. This time the agent found my credit was issued to someone I do not know and on his credit card! Took me 15 minutes to make them understand I didn’t know this guy and I paid the $ 75 on MY card. Had the bank draft to prove it. And she told me they could have easily used my other credit card like I requested. So after all is said and done, here I sit waiting from another 3 business days to hear back from someone. And still no word on when my credit will show up. This is how to run a business???

I’m always confused about having to wait in line for 30 minutes when there’s only two people in front of me. This happened at this location when we picked up the truck, and when we dropped it off. When we dropped it off, the attendant forgot to write down our mileage and had to run after us, then didn’t have a pen. This U-Haul location isn’t bad, but some basic organizational skills would help a lot.

I’m a fan. Just make sure to call and order about two weeks before your move. It will cost you less this way. I would also rent a dolly, big help.

I needed to move my daughter’s stuff to Denton. I reserved a one-way truck for $ 72, then got an e-mail saying they were backed up and we would have to wait two days for a one-way truck. So I called the U-Haul 1 – 800 number and negotiated a deal to get an «in-town» truck at this location, and bring it back here, but for the same cost as a one-way truck, rather than paying through the nose to bring an empty truck back 35 miles to help Uhaul out. Get to the store to pick up the truck, and the employee there tells me the rate they quoted me is wrong, they can’t rent a truck that way, she put it in the computer wrong, etc. Between the new rate, and the excess mileage to bring it back, my $ 72 truck wound up costing me about $ 130. Basically, they have you over a barrel. What are you going to do on a Saturday at 6:00? Penske and Hertz are closed. If you want a truck at a peak time, bend over and take whatever rate you wind up with. I’ll throw them this bone: the truck was clean and didn’t break down.
