Calm little place in the neighborhood. At least when we went! They have a menu filled with a lot of options. Sushi was good! I forgot which ones we got but I remember we got the spring roll sushi cause it was such an interesting concept. Who puts a spring roll in sushi? It was very flavorful and fried. Our waitress was very patient with our indecisiveness and was okay with all of our requests. I got the iced tea because of the things I saw on Unilocal about it. Was definitely good! I’m a fan of lemoney drinks so I was happy!

Pretty good sushi, but I usually like all sushi. They have some pretty original special rolls that were delicious. I’ve had a platter of their sushi at a party and it was nicely done.

Amazing sushi! We had the fushion sun specialty roll which was delicious. If you like spicy the OMG roll is a must! For appitizer I recommend the tuna pizza so fresh. The staff are so friendly and attentive. It’s a BYOB which I love great to go with a group of friends or a date. This is a must try if your not from the area it is worth the drive you won’t be disappointed!

Fusion D’Lite has the best sushi I’ve ever had. My best friend has been trying to get me to go here with him for a while now. Had to put it off for various reasons and all, but I finally met up with him, his fiancée, and my girlfriend last night. First off, the menu is fantastic. I’m not normally one to take ages to figure out my order, but it took me a while here. I ended up getting the fried spicy tuna roll, two pieces of maguro(tuna) nigiri, and two pieces of unagi(eel) nigiri. We also had an order of the chicken fried rice for the table and I had one of the Japanese sweet teas(you have the option of ordering the tea unsweetened, half sweet, or full sweet — I went half) filled with limes. Drinks: The tea was fantastic. I’ve never seen a tea stuffed with basically ¾ of a full lime in my life before. The lime allows you to flavor it as desired, since you can take some out or dunk it in. Loving lime, I dunked it all in and it was delicious. The half sweet was perfect for me and, frankly, full sweet must be a bit insane! No free refills on that tea, but I can see why with how much lime you get and the time it takes to prep it. Appetizers: The fried rice was to die for. First off, it had a hint of Thai flavors in it. Not sure what it was, but it had a different flavor than your typical Japanese fried rice. Really can’t put my finger on the actual spicing that would make it different, but it’s there. My girlfriend ordered one of the avocado egg rolls with Thai honey sauce of some sort. I’m not generally an egg roll guy, but this was delicious as well. The Thai sauce was absolutely delicious and perfectly complimented the light tempura battered egg roll. Added just enough sweet heat to the dish. Sushi: And now to the most important part — the sushi. I first tried the maguro(as it’s my go-to at a new sushi joint). The most tender, melty tuna I’ve had in ages. It was perfectly sliced, too. How often do you order nigiri only to get it sliced borderline sashimi style? I don’t want it thick. I am not a big sashimi fan to begin with. So it was lovely to see the fish cut properly and served properly. The rice was packed perfectly and didn’t fall apart when I picked it up to eat. I really should’ve used my hands, but they have fairly nice quality chop sticks to use. Added a hint of wasabi to the roll and dipped the edge in a hint of soy. The fish tasted wonderful — to the point where you hardly need to flavor it yourself. Moving on, the unagi was delicious. I’ve had rubbery and slimy unagi at times so, again, it’s sort of how I judge a place. It was melt in your mouth tender and not a hint of rubberiness at all. It was perfectly cooked and had the perfect amount of sauce on it for flavor. The fried spicy tuna roll was really interesting. I tend not to like nori, so I ordered the roll with soy wrapper instead. Great choice. It really let the flavor of the fish and the lightly fried batter(as well as the spicy mayo and jalapeño peppers that come on top!). What a delicious and novel roll. I tend not to like rolls with anything cooked on them, but this was basically flash fried. The fish inside was slightly below room temperature when served and the batter had already cooled(was around room temperature). My girlfriend also enjoyed her sushi and appetizer. She is a vegetarian(and trying to make me into a pescatarian!!!), and there were a plethora of options for her to choose from on the menu. She ended up with the avocado egg roll as stated above and the Potomato roll(sweet potato with roasted tomato and cream cheese). Ambiance: The restaurant is almost like a little hole in the wall. It’s on North Ave in Garwood next to a bowling alley. It wasn’t crowded at all on a Saturday night(three other tables were full), but apparently Garwood is quiet in general that day(the place is supposedly packed on Fridays). The restaurant was very clean and the music choices were TOP notch. My girlfriend and I are huge indie rock nerds, so it was great to listen to some Glass Animals and such during dinner(Black Mambo is a great sushi-eating song!). Staff: What lovely, lovely people. I don’t generally pay a LOT of attention to staff unless I’m getting bad service. Not only was our waitress friendly, she was great with suggestions and quite funny! The owner of the restaurant came over to ask us how our food was(he’s gotten to know my friend who was there as he’s been there a number of times, now!). Price: Unbelievably cheap. Our bill with 4 people(and multiple refills of non-free refill sweet tea) was only $ 65. That’s insanely cheap. I could’ve paid double and not batted an eye. Here’s hoping they can keep these prices and this quality, because I honestly don’t think this place can be beaten in terms of value and quality. Overall: I can’t wait to go back. This is one of the best experiences I’ve had at a restaurant in years. If you are within 30 minutes, I can’t imagine getting sushi elsewhere.

This place was alright. The space was small and bright on the inside, and parking can be difficult depending on when you arrive. The first time I ever came, the service was very good and seems consistent. There was also a very cute elderly couple behind the sushi bar wishing us well as we left. The sushi and other foods served here were pretty good. Try it out if you’re around the area. I recommend coming in for a refreshing drink on a hot day or possibly after a workout. There is a hot yoga studio right across the street.

Great food! Great prices! Great service! Overall it’s a nice place to get a lot of food and have a good time. So far every sushi I ordered tasted good and fresh. The price is cheap and they have a nice presentation. I love the lemon tea. The only thing I didn’t like was the miso soup. It seems to be a family business; the grandpa doing the cooking, the son and grandson running the business. They are very friendly and makes you feel at home. This place is handicap accessible, only have street parking and a good decoration. Hmm yeah. I’m definitely coming back. ;)

I have searched far and wide to find a good sushi restaurant, most aren’t too great. When I stumbled upon Fusion D’Lite my expectations weren’t set too high, I was a little thrown off by the name Fusion. Normally I don’t go for fusion dishes. I like traditional sushi mostly. So I ordered a few rolls, yellowtail(hamachi) roll(maki) is one of my favorites and staple roll if you ask me. When the sushi got to the table I was blown away by the presentation, the dish is prepared with such diligent eloquence only a person who truly devotes his entire life to the art of food could achieve that perfection. With every bite of delicious high quality food came an eye opening moment of new understanding, «what have I been eating before» I thought. Their food is on another level, I believe it truly is the best sushi you can buy anywhere in the state for sure. I’ve been back quite a few times and had several dishes never to be dissatisfied.

This is by far the best sushi I have had. The service is top notch. Everyone who walks through the door is greeted by the owners. The special rolls are excellent. If you like spicy, you have to try the OMG roll. The Mango roll is also good. Don’t forget to try the half sweet lime tea. If you are in the mood for chinese food then try the General Tso chicken or the Kung Po Chicken. Great portions at a reasonable price. The wedge of orange at the end tops off a wonderful meal.

Okay, so let me start by saying that this was my second visit here. After a good round of sushi for my first visit, my 2 friends and I decided to go back and give it another try. However, this time it was horrific. We were the ONLY ones in the restaurant, which we thought would be a good thing. Turns out we were soooo wrong. It took 48 minutes for our food. No joke. Again, we were the only ones in there. We made the mistake of ordering their their dinner meals and not just the sushi this time. Even still, 48 minutes is just ridiculous. I got the Massaman Curry Puk. Which wasn’t Massaman curry at all. Not one peanut in it, just spicy sauce. I kindly asked our waitress if I could have the Massaman curry sauce on the side. I explained to her that it was supposed to be a semi sweet peanut curry and that maybe the cook just forgot the peanuts. She came back and told me that they didn’t have any peanut sauce but the cook would whip up peanuts and sugar for me?! Wait, what? Sooooo, you are either 1) out of the curry sauce and tried to pass off stir fry as Massaman curry or 2) the cook/owner thought that I wouldn’t know the difference. This was on top of being given a really poor miso soup concoction to start off with(honestly probably one of the worst ones I’ve ever had) but I choose to ignore it. I should have known right there that we were all in trouble… but it gets worse. My fiancé ordered the green curry chicken. We are big curry fans, and have eaten it all over NJ and the rest of the country. So when they brought out the soup and there was no coconut milk in it at all, we thought, this can’t be that bad. Maybe it’s just their version of green curry. HA! We were so wrong. I swear, we thought that he was given bathwater soup. Not only was it completely flavorless, it was bad. After almost 50 minutes of waiting of both of our meals, we at least thought that it would be good. My friend had ordered chicken and broccoli. Not as bad as ours was, but pretty bad. Definitely the worst we have ever had and it’s pretty hard to screw up chicken and broccoli. She decided to just cut her losses and not eat but take it home to throw it out– as not to be rude. She never throws food away– EVER, but it was a first for her too. Also, she made the comment that she thought it tasted like pee. Like dog pee… Greattttttt. Finally I decided to give back my meal, since I was pretty much lied to about what I was being feed, and ordered some sushi. My fiancé didn’t want to send it back because he felt like it might take another hour before we got feed again. So he kept his. I ordered the spicy tuna roll and luckily it only took them about 5 minutes to make. I gobbled it down(it was good) and we high tailed it out of there. The poor waitress knew that we had been screwed over so she even wrote«sorry» on the check. Needless to say, we will never go back for their food. Maybe I would order their sushi again, but after being lied to about my meal I feel like they took me for an idiot. And I just don’t know if I would want to give someone like that my business again. What a shame. Their moon roll from last time was really good. But, who does that to someone? Just be honest and say that you ran out of Massaman curry and coconut milk. Instead of trying to pass off stir fry and bathwater soup? So just be warned. NEVER, EVER, EVER, EVER order anything but sushi from here. Or spin the wheel and take your chance at the currys. I would LOVE to know if anyone else gets bamboozled like we did!

Ordered from here twice and came away with the impression that it’s a decent dinner option. The first time we ordered they forgot to give us our edamame. I mentioned that when I called the second time and they did give it to us for free which was nice. I’ve gotten the salmon with udon and the soba noodles with tofu and veggies. My husband ordered the wings with chili sauce(he loved the sauce and just poured it over everything), as well as shrimp shumai. We both got salads(mine came with my noodles) and they were the saddest salads ever. I can’t believe they charge $ 3 for it. It was literally some leaves of lettuce and sliced red onion — that’s it. The other food was good and I found the portions very reasonable. I just think there is better in the area so I wouldn’t be in a rush to order from here in the near future.

Great fresh sushi in a cozy atmosphere with friendly staff. Price for quality can not be beat. My girlfriend and I started going to Fusion D’lite a couple years ago. I was always a big sushi fan, whereas she is not. I fell in love with their rolls, she fell for their appetizers and fantastic noodle dishes. We started going about twice a month, sometimes more. Over time, we saw new great rolls and specials added to the menu. Owner Yao is very passionate about his food and always has great ideas for new fusion masterpieces or improving old favorites. All his travels lend new inspiration. After we started taking our friends with us, this place has become the #1 destination in our circle. If we want to get together and have a delicious, fun, relaxing night, we just text out the rally cry«Who wants Fusion?» Recommendations(though honestly there are very few things we don’t love) Homemade Sushi Pizza — a crowd pleasing appetizer, enough for 2 – 3 Gyoza — Fantastic dumplings, we get ‘em steamed but fried are standard. Sushi Rolls: Blue Moon Fusion Sun Kobe Beef Thai Sunny Salmon Non-Sushi: General Tso’s Chicken — Not what’d you get from standard asian takeout. The sauce is amazing. Short Ribs & Pasta — Tender ribs on pasta with another great fusion sauce. Soba Noodles w/Chicken — GFs fave. Have a hard time convincing her to get anything else. Spicy — I love the kick, so these are some personal faves OMG Roll — If you’re feeling brave ask for the extra spicy version. NOLA Special Roll Jet Fuel — Not on the menu, ask for it! Green Curry Chicken To drink we always get the bottom-less Green Iced Tea, unsweetened but sweetness can be adjusted to your liking. Bring some friends, BYOB, and have a great, affordable meal with fantastic fresh sushi.

This place has amazing, fresh sushi. I’ve tried a number of dishes from gyoza, tempura avocado roll, yellowtail with slices of fresh jalapeño. The scream roll is nice because it is basically an ahi tuna finely diced like a tuna tartare wrapped and topped with tomato and jalapeño. Delicious because you get the spicey flavor without the siracha mayo. I’m not crazy about the avocado tempura roll because I got it to go and by the time I was home it was soggy. I’m also not crazy about the color. It was pale and I like to think it would have been more appetizing in a golden hue. Lunch specials give you a ton of quality food(2 rolls and a soup or salad) for $ 7. They usually let you add or change options without any fuss. Today I had some sort of special roll, and a special appetizer. The special roll was a tempura roll covered in spicy tuna and avocado. It was epic. $ 12.The appetizer was cucumber slices topped with spicy salmon and a jalapeño slice. $ 6. This along with a miso soup was $ 20. I over ordered but it was totally worth it.

Salmon Teriyaki and chicken teriyaki– both served on hot metal plates so they came to the table sizzling like in a much fancier and expensive restaurant. Everything was attractively served and delicious and the bill for four with 3 appetizers(Nassu Shigiyaki– Eggplant with sweet miso, eel roll, gyoza) was slightly over $ 50 for dinner. The small place was quite full for a Monday evening, and with only hard surfaces, noisier than I prefer. The food was top notch and the service friendly so No question I’ll return many times.

If Sushi Yasuda is a Bentley then Fusion D’Lite is a Ford. While Ford Motors makes decent cars for the average person, it does it’s job and nothing more. First, there’s no curb appeal; the restaurant looks terrible outside and next to a bowling alley. If my friend didn’t take me here and recommend it, I wouldn’t have given it a chance. I will admit, the staff was friendly and attentive. Great service. BYOB. No liquor license means you go nearby and pick up your own beer and sake. Unfortunately, the sushi offering was pedestrian. No toro, no uni on a Tuesday. There were plenty of the standard fish(tuna, yellow tail, salmon, eel, etc) and a bunch of creative rolls. Fusion D’Lite also offers brown rice options. If you’re a sushi snob this is considered to be a Teriyaki Boy or average sushi. This isn’t a Yasuda or Sushi of Gari type of joint. In summary, I enjoyed my meal, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to come here. If you life nearby, then I’m sure this is the best sushi option available. IFHTP1
