Great place for a late night snack! This place has a great crispy recipe for batter on chicken and fish but it can be too salty at times. The «Fried Gizzards» are the best and you can’t beat the price for the amount you receive! The seating area of the store is small but very clean. The staff are usually very busy and seemed tired which may be the reason for sometimes having a slight attitude. I haven’t tried there desserts, as of yet, but maybe in the future. I keep coming back for the «Gizzards»! If you go… gotta try the «Gizzards»!

Been here twice and it didn’t taste like the Harold’s in Chicago at all. I don’t plan to go back, ever.

I don’t really do «fast food» but when I do, it’s often this gem in Gary. I’m biased because I work up the street and let’s face it, there are not really many options for food in this part of town, especially if you work nights so I’m thankful to have this spot just down the street from work and happy they’re open fairly late. Food is consistently good, fresh & prepared well. You can’t go wrong with the extra spicy btw.
Backing up one of the other reviewers comments, I will say that you should show up late when picking up carry out orders because they are usually running at least 10 – 15 minutes behind on those, but this is a good spot for what it is… solid fried chicken/​fast food at a decent price.

I’m gone to make this short and simple. The chicken is always good but never ready when you call in and pick it up. You should be prepared to wait 20 to 30 mins after you pay either way if you call it in or walk in, your going to wait. They are kind of pricey for chicken but they have a good lunch special which is 3 or 4 wings fries and a pop for $ 4.25 between 10am-​3pm Other than that my usually are BBQ wings which are the 12 drumettes and fries for $ 5.25 (my type of meal). Everything else is kind of higher in price. Again very good, always fresh but always a wait.
