Murphys salon is finally closed, good riddance! Two people have been murdered there! Gang bangers, drug dealers and hookers convection center!

Ever since Jimmy died of cancer and Murphy’s Saloon ’ deceased owner and a very lovin kind person. He was a sweet man who deserved to still be with us. Penny, the newer owner needs to learn a property’s new rules and put in place in an orderly fashion. Haphazardly home fun do. Jimmy is sorely missed. The worst part now is that penny allows open sexual acts and open use and sale of drugs to all who enter. She’s to new to the bar business and needs training herself!

It’s a very mixed bar with lots of colorful characters and if your faint of heart don’t even think about it. Extra liberal fun bar with a VERY mediocre kitchen. They have touch tunes and a pool table along with cameras all over the joint. The owner is a sweet heart and they have free wifi.

Murphy’s was closed when I moved to Gary in 2009, but reopened in 2011. The food is OK, the beer selection is average, and the service is tolerable. All in all, Murphy’s House of Pain Saloon is surprisingly mediocre. The pool table is probably Murphy’s best feature. I love dive bars, but this place is definitely for regulars only.
