I have 8 kids and 3 attend at Gaston Elem. We moved here from a Tigard school in the Beaverton school district they had gone to from Preschool. One had an IEP, another was on her way to having an IEP with low reading, writing, and math. We have another entering next year into Kindergarten. We always thought that the teachers seemed to be doing their best. We suddenly had to move late last winter and I enrolled them in Gaston. IMMEDIATELY… my son was writing full stories where we would have to sit on him to complete anything. The kids looked forward to school! The teachers are fantastic and my daughter had the BEST time with the swimming lessons they provide the 2nd graders! I had great feelings since the moment I stepped into the old school building and saw art everywhere, happy faces and not once have I seen a child in the office for disciplinary measures(and I have been in a few times). I used to see kids frequently in the office at their old school. The fact the whole school is so close together with smaller class sized and involved parents makes it the great school it is! We are really looking forward to next year!
