I really wouldn’t consider this a golf center, but just a driving range. In fact, I have no idea why it’s called a golf center, as they offer nothing but a driving range. Being the only driving range in Gastonia, you’re kind of stuck going here if you’re looking to hits some balls. And once you find a good spot to hit from it isn’t that bad, but this place could be so much better. The inside is nothing spectacular, mainly just a counter where you pay around $ 8 for a small bucket of balls, which is kind of pricey to me. Once you head outside, you have 3 choices, from grass, to mats, to covered mats. Now I like hitting off mats, mainly because it’s just so much easier, but I know most people like grass. The mats aren’t so bad, you just have to make sure you’re not stuck with a really bad one. The grass is another story though, as it can get pretty tough to find a decent patch of grass. And this is where the majority of people are, so that just makes it much harder. On a nice night the place can get pretty packed so finding a good spot can get hard to do. But being the only place in Gastonia to hit a bucket of balls, you’ll just have to wait. I guess it’s alright for the job it’s supposed to do, as it provides plenty of space to tee off. But to me it could just be so much better & I guess that’s why I only gave it 2 stars.
