Nice atmosphere and very good food. I would include this place in my itinerary every time i visit Gatlinburg. Recommend prime rib, but only server on certain days.

We had a nice dinner here with another couple. In my opinion it is one of the best places to eat in Gatlinburg as far as food quality goes. I have to say that our server was not very nice and we all felt that he was very short and pushy with us. We ordered a nice bottle of red wine and he opened it wrong and broke the cork off in the bottle and then had to go get help from the manager to figure out what to do. He rushed us through ordering even though the restaurant was only about 25% full. We all enjoyed our food and it all came out correct. It was a nice dinner it was just overshadowed by our server.

Don’t bother. We went during a slow time and it took around 20 mins for waiter to even greet us – we were actually leaving when he FINALLY showed up. Was pretty snippy and never refilled our drinks – we got one refill from another server who we flagged, but that was it. My food was prepared wrong and when I asked to speak with manager, she argued about it with me. I work on food service AND I know how to prepare fish, but she was absolutely irate. Finally got it taken off our bill as I only ate two bites. Waited another 20 mins for check and had to get ANOTHER server AGAIN to track our server down. Overall bad experience. Food was mediocre for my two companions and just poor service.

Food and service were excellent. My wife had the pork chop, which she thoroughly enjoyed. I had the Southern fried catfish, which were some of the best I have ever had. This is a must attend restaurant in Gatlinburg.

Parking is a challenge at downtown Gatlinburg. There is a decent size parking lot next to the restaurant shared with a couple of stores/restaurant in the plaza. If you spent more than $ 10 at any of these, your $ 10 parking fee will be waived, just show the receipt when exiting. But we drove around the parking lot for a few minutes before we finally saw someone was leaving and took that spot. If you come during weekend, and it’s meal time. It won’t be easy to park. The restaurant was pretty good size, we didn’t wait in line before seated. The light is really dim inside, personally I don’t like that much. We tried to order dishes from that day’s special menu, but the dish we want was sold out. I ordered BBQ ribs instead. The rib is good and generous portion. I replaced fries to broccoli. For the side, I took the advice of the waiter and went with Mac&cheese, not entirely satisfied. I expected it to be more flavorful, but it was not.

We stopped into the Cherokee Grill on a Saturday evening in May during a weekend stay in Gatlinburg. There were five of us, and we were seated immediately. The service was excellent and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their food. The portions were huge, so we all got to try a bit of everything! We couldn’t have been more pleased with our decision to eat here. DIdn’t feel touristy at all, parking was free with proof of purchase, and the place was just really nice overall. Highly recommended!

When we go on vacation, we try to find a local steakhouse to splurge on for our last meal. We decided on The Cherokee Grill this time and boy did we splurge! We originally called to make a reservation but found out that they only take call ahead seating. We put in our name and when we arrived a few days later, we were immediately seated. Our server was professional and attentive. We ordered a beer and a glass of wine and those were delivered with some amazing rosemary bread. We ordered our entrees and here is where I had a small issue. Hubby ordered the Prosperity Pork Chop which comes with on side. He ordered the broccoli and also ordered a side salad. I ordered the Prosperity Steak which comes with either grits or mashed potatoes and a choice of one more side. The sides consist of 4 kinds of potatoes, rice, grits, mac and cheese and the veggie of the day. Not really the biggest selection and not a lot of healthy options. If you want a salad as your other side, it’s an extra $ 4. I told our server that I really just wanted the side salad and had no problem paying the extra amount. She then told me I still could get another side. I again told her that I only wanted the salad. When our food was delivered, she asked again if I wanted my other side. Ummm, no! Anyways, my side salad was one of the best side salads I have had in a long time. Dinner was delivered and I ordered my steak medium well but it was definitely overcooked. Pretty much well done. Luckily it still had great flavor. The mashed potatoes were delicious as well. Hubby enjoyed his pork chop and we cleaned our plates. We also ordered dessert. I had the strawberry shortcake and the hubby had the peanut butter pie. The strawberry shortcake was good but the peanut butter pie was heavenly. Definitely made with reese’s peanut butter! The restaurant was comfortable but we thought it was quite loud. I felt like I was yelling across the table. There are high ceilings so there is nothing to absorb the sound. However, there were some larger groups that were quite loud and were not helping the problem. Even though there were a few things that we weren’t happy about, it was still a wonderful dinner and we would recommend this place for a nice, upscale dinner.

This is a nice place to eat. It checked out most of the boxes, the food is good, the atmosphere and service are great as well. I had the herb crusted trout and it was very nice. I paired it with an in house made German style beer, which I enjoyed as well.

I just got done from a brunch here … The ambience is good for this city … The service was not so good. The server got our coffee with quite a lot spilled out. The Asian rolls were okay(not good), my brother said his fried chicken was good. I ordered waffles with scrambled eggs, the waffle was okay the eggs were bad(drenched in oil that tastes like it was used to deep fry meat). All the sides fried and hash browns were all below average.

Food: 4.5 Service: 5 Ambience: 5 Date/Time: 5÷23÷20169:00pm This place is right off the main parkway in Gatlinburg and is a very nicely done restaurant. Lots of dark wood highlights and well placed seating of both tables and booths. The service was excellent with lots of attention from the server. The grilled BBQ chicken, baked potato and broccoli was very tasty, as was the spinach artichoke dip. The only item not as high on the list was the Mac ‘n cheese with spinach side dish. The chips seven with the dip was also very thin so most of them were just crumbles and were pretty salty(would suggest maybe sliced toasted French bread instead). Overall this is a very good restaurant with decent prices and is recommended for a quiet dinner.

My friend and I came last night for dinner and we loved it. Had the glazed pork chops with mashed potatoes. It was so good. Also had beer, the Helles and it was very good. Staff was friendly and attentive. Definitely will go back when I come for another visit.

This place has some of the nicest atmosphere in Gatlinburg. The interior is enormous and tastefully furnished in a more sophisticated take on rustic charm. My husband and I both ordered sandwiches — him a burger, mine a crab cake. He had no complaints and remarked that the fries were exceptional, and I agreed. My crab cake was very good but it was only about half the size of the bun, so it was a bit awkward to eat. Still, everything was very good, if a bit on the pricey side.

Went here with my wife for Mother’s Day First of all we came in and hostess didn’t acknowledge is at all. A server noticed us just standing there and took us in. Food was good. Server was nice but seemed to be in a hurry all the time and did not check once to see if we needed anything. On the way out we said goodbye to hostess and again she did not even look at us. Good food, good environment Terrible customer service

I wish restaurants could be cloned. This place is beautiful and cozy. We visited Gatlinburg for a bite to eat while on vacation(and celebrating our engagement!) There are plenty of sites to see in this town and I’m so happy we chose here to eat. We had a window seat with plenty of people watching to do. The music in the restaurant is classic big-band. Perfect. Started out with the crab cakes that were delicious, fresh and hot. Bite-size too! I ordered a cup of clam chowder and regretted getting just a cup. I should have ordered a bowl, it was so perfect.(And by bowl I mean five). I will never forget that cup of soup. My partner ordered the catfish with a side of blue cheese grits. He was in love with the grits but they weren’t for me. Any cheese lover will adore them. The catfish melts in your mouth. I’ve never had such fish-especially one that is considered«dirty»! We ordered a bottle of wine at the table which was great but our server seemed a little new and awkward. Nevertheless, I would drive down to Tennessee just to eat here again.

Restaurant is easy to find. In the busy area of Gatlinburg. We didn’t wait long at all for a table. We had a nice window seat with a great view. We got the chicken tortizza which is a tortilla used instead of dough for a pizza. It had a good flavor to it. We were surprised at how large it was. We ended up getting the prime rib as our meal. We split it since I wasn’t that hungry. We got it medium rare. It was a nice cut. I did notice that it was cooked a little longer than medium rare. When we pointed it out to our server, he said due to the lighting in the restaurant, it looks darker than what it was. But we could tell by tasting it. It wasn’t as tender as it should for a medium rare slice. I got the baked macaroni with spinach. It was just ok. It was way too heavy for me and it was a little dry. My husband got the vegetable of the day and he didn’t have any complaints. Overall, we would definitely go again.

Unilocal recommended Cherokee Grill to us on our first trip to Gatlinburg. It was a lovely walk from our paid parking and when we arrived learned that the 10 $ parking fee at Calhoun Village(where it is located) is waived with a minimum 10 $ purchase. Next time… we will park there. We were quickly seated even though it was peak lunch time and were near the gorgeous stone fireplace with a view of the Parkway. We were given the standard menu… lots of great choices… as well as the specials for the day. The brunch and lunch menus had awesome choices. I selected the crab and shrimp salad and it was great… but I would have liked to have either a nut or dried fruit in it to make it spectacular. The sundried tomatoes were very nice… not too chewy. The homemade dressings(I got a mix of blue cheese and ranch) were TODIEFOR and the bread basket had a mix of little nibbles which I appreciate versus giant yeast rolls that are served so many other places. My husband ordered a cheddar burger with bacon, no bun and it was DELISH! We were impressed with the great side selections… the creamed spinach has a little kick to it and absolutely fabulous! We did not try the bar offerings, but the mixed drink menu looked great – we will absolutely check that out in the future!

Good atmosphere and open kitchen. The menu is fairly small but they also have daily specials. Steak was good but a little over seasoned and slightly over cooked but that’s ok because I go down when ordering steak at most places. I like a medium but order medium rare. My granparents both ordered medium and were disappointed that theirs were over cooked. Neva potatoes are great. Wish I’d gotten them as both my sides.

My wife and I were in Pigeon Forge for a quick getaway and headed to Gatlinburg for an afternoon out and dinner. We weren’t extremely hungry when dinner time rolled around, but did want to try something local. There are a surprising number of national chains in town. We decided to head to Cherokee Grill for dinner. The ambiance of the place is great. Nice lighting, comfy seating, a private meeting/dining room with glass walls and what looks to be a full service bar make up the place. After being seated quickly and courteously, we took a few minutes to review the menu. Lots of options for all preferences. They even offer a gluten-free menu. I went ahead and ordered the BBQ grilled chicken sandwich with baked potato and my wife went with the appetizer crab cake and a side of baked mac ‘n cheese with spinach. Our food came to the table in a fairly reasonable amount of time. Nothing special about any of it: the presentation or the taste. It was just ok. Both of us agreed that it was just ok. It tasted like something you could order anywhere and get the same quality and taste. Even at a much lower scale place. Overall everything was just ok. Not what we had hoped for when dining out, even on a mini-vacation. Next time we’re in town I think we’ll try the trout restaurant.

We stopped here for a late dinner take out. I had the Cheese Steak that came with Mashed Potatoes stuffed within the potato and some BBQ ribs. The sandwich was good, but the BBQ were definitely the best. I absolutely love the RIBS here, as you can see in the pictures, they are slowly cooked. My kids shared the Grilled Cheese and Mac N Cheese. Unfortunately they did not like the Mac N Cheese, it was nicely presented, it just lacked flavour as it was very bland. I do not like salty foods and a lot of restaurants use way too much salt, just here they could add some herb seasoning to it. We also had a side of the Bleu cheese grits, which we did not like. I would not recommend the grits, bleu cheese? way too sour. My wife had the Grilled Chicken breast with fresh vegetables, it looked really good. However, it was RAW and it was not until she was about half way done eating it that she noticed it because it was covered in bread crumbs/white sauce. As someone who has been a kitchen manager, my duty was to ensure food safety. Whoever runs the kitchen should make sure whoever is running the grill double checks to be certain that the chicken is cooked. All of the cooks/chef’s should have their ServSafe certificate. Cherokee Grill uses extremely massive chicken breast, probably about 7⁄8 of an inch thick and because it is so thick, the grill cooks here should either butterfly it or slice it at an angle to check that it is not raw/pink. Cherokee Grill is a beautiful place, great service, just stay away from the chicken. [Review #330](Ninetieth Review of 2015)

Not veggie head friendly. I couldn’t find dish pleasing to the tongue so I ordered sides and I was not a happy camper. Luckily I wasn’t as hungry as my friends were so I was fine not eating much of my dish. I think I ate a total of 4 – 5 spoons of each. I ordered the Tennessee blue cheese grits and the Baked macaroni and spinach with spicy cheese. The cheese grits tasted like I was eating creamy cream cheese. The baked mac and cheese needed more cheese or some flavor to it. It was bland; usually cheese is the main component but some spices would have been nice. Our waitress was a different level of nice in a negative way. The hostess had an interesting concept. We walked in, saw lots of seats but she told us to the wait was going to be about 20 – 25 minutes because they were low in safe and there’s not enough servers. Now you’re probably wondering why I think that’s a good idea. Well, it’s better because people have a higher chance of complaining about the service if they were seated and waiting versus not being seated yet. Not being seated and waiting is common but being seated and waiting gets customers frustrated easily.

This is one the few non-tacky restaurants in Gatlinburg, which is already a good reason to go. The atmosphere is classy but still casual. They have a nice selection of wine and beer and the meat is pretty good. We had the rib eye and the prime rib and both were good, especially the later.
