Kim at the front desk made it such a great experience. She went out of her way to make us feel comfortable. Great place!

Pros: bed was comfortable, room was large, bathroom had new toilet. Cons: room 308 smelled bad. Really bad. I was given a bottle of air freshener which helped a bit, but smell kept coming back. Desk clerk seemed unconcerned and offered no apology when I notified her of the dog poop that was in the elevator.

I was pleasantly surprised with my experience at the Travelodge Inn & Suites, and I’d absolutely recommend this hotel to all my friends. I paid about $ 50 for a single night, King side bed, and I couldn’t have been more skeptical. I took faith in other Unilocal reviews, and my stay turned out to be well worth it(and my wallet thanked me later, too). It’s about a 10 – 15 minute walk to the center of the action in Gatlinburg from Travelodge, but considering the absurd cost of a hotel that is centrally located that has the same level of ‘niceness’ to it, I’d much rather save the $ 100 and walk. This isn’t a Hilton(there’s one down the street if you want one), but it’s not your run down motel in the middle of Kansas. Though I’m sure the outside might look like it at some times. You could walk into your room and think, this bathroom could really use a light above the shower, a new curtain, a taller dresser for the TV, etc. but then you’ll remember you paid $ 50 and this place is equivalent to a Holiday Inn that’s been open for about 5 – 10 years. The only thing I didn’t like about this Inn, was the breakfast. It’s a large enough space to accommodate more than what it offers, and in result you’ll most likely be standing in a 7 person line waiting to flip a waffle a couple times and then decide to just skip everyone and get a bagel or two and some watered down juice. Breakfast is by far the most important meal of the day, and it’s pretty hard to screw it up, but the Travelodge did it and I hope by the next time I visit, they will have remodeled the area in some way. I only stayed one night, and I would even stay a few nights in the future if I weren’t just passing by. However, to anyone looking to stay longer than just a few nights(say a week?), go ahead and rent yourself a cabin or find a different hotel more suitable for a longer stay. I certainly enjoyed this place for a single night and would for two nights, but you don’t have any business staying here for week

The staff were all amazing and super friendly. Upon arrival our room had some spots that weren’t very clean, we talked to the front desk and housekeeping came up right away to take care of it. They had excuses as to why they missed the stuff they did but either way it was handled. Then our light went out… Maintenance came right away and took care of it. The rooms are a bit outdated but not horrible. It is a pet friendly hotel so there is a chance of being stuck next to a barking neighbor(we were). The balconies are shared between 3 rooms but have a nice view of the river(creek) on one side and the mountain on the other side where you come in. You don’t have to go into the building to get into your room which is nice. The pool is smaller. The breakfast was decent and had a variety of stuff. My biggest complaint is that the seals around the door weren’t very tight, that left room for bugs to come in. I also didn’t like how the bathroom sink was right as you walked in the door while the toilet and shower were in another room. The beds were comfortable but we had to have them change our bedding upon arriving because of what they called«stains». The rooms weren’t the worst I’ve seen but I would have expected a bit more for the price we paid.

For the price, I think the hotel is decent. Most of the staff was nice, and the rooms were clean. I thought the breakfast was good. However, since animals are allowed to stay in the rooms, there is a chance you might stay in a room next to a barking dog(it happened to us). Rooms do have balconies, but you have to share it with other rooms. The furniture out there isn’t kept clean. There were two things that really bothered me. One, the heater would turn on for less than a minute, shut off for a couple of minutes, turn back on for less than a minute, and so on… that went on all night. We had to basically sleep in a cold room, since the heater wouldn’t stay on. We tried different settings, and nothing worked. Second, we left a baby bottle behind(we were in a hurry) and they threw it away, because it was a «food item». Since when do babies eat bottles? They could have dumped out the milk, and kept the bottle. Things like baby bottles should be kept for at least 24 hours. I’m sure most mothers would try to get it back, so they can feed their child. I thought that was extremely rude of them. We will never go back!
