I believe in second chances, and remembering that Aunt Sassy’s had a large selection of charm packs, I decided to pop in here for a look around. My experience was WAY different this time, which makes me glad I decided to stop in. Firstly, Aunt Sassy’s is expanding. The business next door apparently closed and they are in the process of renovating to take up both sides of the building. That will be nice when it’s done, because the fabric selection(while spectacular) is really small at the moment. However, they do have a huge selection of precuts, mostly from Moda, which is exactly what I was looking for today. Sometimes I just like a little variety, and it’s also a good idea for a store without a lot of shelf space to offer smaller packages of fabric with lots of designs and options. Finally, the service I got this time was way better than my previous visit. I’m not sure because it was a Saturday and there were a lot of people in the store(working and shopping), but everybody this time around was friendly and helpful. I didn’t get any snide comments about hating quilting(because SERIOUSLY, if you hate quilting, don’t work in a fabric shop). I’ll definitely be back, and I’m sure I’ll be dragging my mom along too when she visits!

Aunt Sassy’s is the fabric side of The Creative Sewing Center. This is not a huge shop, but it fits in with the downtown Geneva shops. The staff is friendly and happy to help if you would like. Many quilters like to browse on their own, and the staff is happy to let you do that, as well. I enjoy visiting all kinds of quilt shops, and I will return to this one.
