Long Pier Ice Cream & Rentals

Rude employee brought my cone in a dish and initially refused to make me another in a cone!!! Wanted me to pay again for her mistake!

I have never had my 6 year old turn up her nose at any ice cream, specially chocolate caramel! She said it was awful. I tasted it and she was right, it tasted old. Told the lady at the counter to which she replied «that’s weird we’ve been selling it since this morning». I’m not one to throw away food but this was unnecessary calories. If they are going to charge you $ 4 for that at least make it right to the costumer. I’m not sure I will be going there anytime soon.

We happened to see a sign for wine ice cream while checking out some of the wineries in the Geneva area. Upon seeing this sign, I just had to try it since I’ve never heard of or tried wine ice cream. In addition to the regular ice cream you can get, there were 3 flavors of the wine ice cream the day we were there: chocolate cabernet, strawberry champagne, and peach zinfandel… the sign said all contain 5% alcohol. It was a tough decision, but I decided on the strawberry champagne in a regular size (which was $ 5). With a regular size, you get 2 big scoops in a small cup. I thought mine tasted delicious, very light. I wish I could have gotten a scoop of each (in hindsight, I probably would have asked to see if I could try a scoop of all three or see if I can combine any of them). We enjoyed our ice cream while walking along a pier overlooking Seneca Lake. It was just beautiful outside taking in the scenery and enjoying some great ice cream! A must try in the summer for anyone in this area!

Convenient but way over priced… They suck your kids in because of the playground and then jack the prices higher then other places. I take the kids elsewhere for icecream and go to the lake after

The selection here is lacking severely. They have less than ten flavors of hard ice cream here, which in my opinion is a huge downfall. They have traditional soft serve, flavor swirl soft serve, and offer some low-​fat yogurt soft serve (I think two flavors). I usually get a twist in a waffle cone which is always good when I get it, and I go here mainly because I live within walking distance. The staff is okay, I haven’t had any negative experiences with them personally. I’m just overall disappointed in their lack of variety for hard ice cream. They are also inconsistent with their flavor offering so if you find one you do like, they probably won’t have it the next time you go.
Another issue is that they advertise boat/​bike rentals, but nowhere around them do you see any boats or bikes for rent, nor do they have any signs that mention anything about them.

Since the first few times I’ve came here, they have been often out of their Gifford’s Maine Wild Blueberry flavor. This was my initial reason for rating it a 5 as it’s a unique flavor that I’ve really never had or seen elsewhere.
I have had their Orange flavor swirl soft serve a few times and I have to say I’m a big fan of that too, and their waffle cones are pretty good.
I have noticed that some of the employees aren’t the nicest here as other people have said, but the interfacing with them is kept to a minimum, so it’s okay.
So while I can’t say that I feel it really is a 5 Star location anymore, I still do enjoy coming here, and in fact may still be going later this evening.

We bring our day campers here every year. The past two years we have had awful service for over priced ice cream. There is an older lady that works there who is always nasty and rude.

Nice little spot to get an ice cream or cold drink on a nice day. You can sit at one of the wooden picnic tables or walk out on the pier for gorgeous views of Seneca Lake. No indoor seating, but has bathrooms and parking so is also a great spot from which to launch a bike ride along the lake. The chocolate milkshakes are good, but a bit pricey at $ 4.25. They aren’t any better than McDonald’s, but you get a million dollar view to go with it.

I never knew they even made wine slushies or wine ice cream. I tried a couple of different ones and they were all good. The big sign while driving down the street caught our attention. Its a nice spot to stop off at and just enjoy the view of the lake as well. Especially if youre from out of town.

So we went on a day trip to the Finger Lakes area and we stopped by this ice cream shop specifically for their wine flavored ice creams. My brother and I shared the cherry merlot and Chardonnay ice cream. They were very good and at 5% alcohol it was worth the stop. However, the woman at the counter was not paying attention and while I am 100% sure I gave her a $ 20 bill she gave me change for $ 10. And when I brought it to her attention she wasn’t even that nice about it. So yea, it left a bad taste in my mouth so to speak.

I loved their chocolate cabernet, which I remember trying back in 2007, and this time we tried the cherry merlot. I think that these are awesome ice cream flavors, and I wished these flavors can be found easily in grocery stores instead of only in this ice cream shop.
So why the low rating? Because the service we got when we were here yesterday left a bad taste in the mouth. My sister ordered a regular sized cherry merlot, for 4.50 USD. She gave the lady a 20 USD bill. However, the change she got was only for 10 USD. When she brought this to the lady’s attention, the lady claimed that she cannot verify that at the moment, and asked for a phone number so that when she tallies the cash register at the end of the day, if there was a 10 USD surplus, then she would call us.
But what do you do if you’re just driving past, and you’ll be in a different city by evening?
I dunno, the ice cream was good, but it was now expensive, in an instant.
So I am giving them 1 stars for now, and recommending a solution. Install a camera, so you can verify them on the spot.
