Mr. Home Inspector is Great!

Mr. Home Inspector, Inc. was FANTASTIC!!! Fortunately /​Unfortunately we were able to experience their specific and detailed inspection services twice while searching for a new home. The first property was riddled with camouflaged problems, some more apparent than others, never-​the-​less, what was discovered was enough to let us pass on that property and find something a lot more sound.
Colleen was our Professional Home Inspector for both properties. She is really really GREAT and thorough at her job. She has a system whether outside the home or inside the home that she methodically follows to ensure with this pattern each area is completely scrutinized! We included radon testing with both home inspections and this is set up at the begining of the inspection period and after the radon test is run over 24 – 48 we were the results as soon as they were available.

Had my inspection done a while ago, didn’t find time until now to reflect on the service received. Inspector arrived on time, found few little flaws but didn’t truly comprehend existing issues, for a fact we’ve been told house had no bathroom fans while house did after all have a central exhaust fan in the garage that didn’t work, inspector didn’t comprehend what the device in the ceiling was, we have been told there us there was a leak in the bathroom around the toilet wax but it was a loose screw from the tank, focused on the porch light that somehow didn’t work (we’ve found out that it turns on when dark only), no mold or radon test has been performed or offered. We are lucky since the house had no issues of any major substance but I feel if it would the inspector wasn’t capable of finding them anyway. While I thought the price of over $ 300 during initial inspection was acceptable looking at it from time perspective I feel it wasn’t worth it.

He explained that any additional appliances we purchase for the new home can be entered in as well, and we’ll receive notification of any future recalls. He also offers a concierge service to assist in connecting your home to services such as cable, phone, etc. One call and it all gets set up for you, no hassle! In addition to these great customer service benefits, Joe did an incredibly thorough job with our inspection and spent time explaining everything. Highly recommend Joe, and anyone who’s been trained by him and works under his direction.

Upon having our offer accepted on a beautiful 1944 Cape Cod-​style home in St. Charles, we reached out for recommendations on a home inspector. Much to our satisfaction, no fewer than three local families gave glowing referrals to Joe of Mr. Home Inspector in Geneva, which made our decision an easy and confident one.
Throughout the entire inspection, Joe was exceptionally thorough while also keen to illuminate various observations to us, educating us along the way. The inspection concluded in the basement where, following a period of silent focus, Joe pointed-​out a real deal-​breaker: A well-​concealed patch job covering a horizontal crack running the entire perimeter of the house. Once you saw it, it was impossible to miss — but I am certain a lesser inspector could’ve very easily overlooked it.
Thanks to Joe and Mr. Home Inspector, Inc., we avoided purchasing a home that could’ve become a real nightmare scenario. Highly, highly recommended!
