I’ve been bringing my kids here for recreational gymnastics and dance on and off since 2008. My daughter and son both have done«tots» classes and had a variety of instructors. Classes are offered for preschool during the day and after school hours as well. My kids liked their classes and instructors, but my daughter just was doing it for fun and no interest in competition, so it worked for us. She took gymnastics from ages 4 – 9 and dance classes for about 2 years and attended one recital. I liked the approach of Miss Ivy, who made the dance classes fun for young children, vs. the experience we had at other dance schools that were too strict with kids that age(3 – 6 y.o.) She learned techniques appropriate for her age and had fun at the same time. My 4 y.o. son is currently enrolled in preschool gymnastics classes and enjoys it! I like that they offer make up classes, as many other places do not. Kids get sick and it’s nice that they understand that! My kids have also attended«Fun Friday» events and summer camp. My only disappointment with this place is that the kids are not actually learning any gymnastics at summer camp, its just fun and games, but my kids liked it and wanted to go back again. It would be nice if they offered gymnastics skills camps in the summer — like a weeklong intensive to learn basic skills, like tumbling.

We took our 3 year old grandson for a trial gymnastics/tumbling class at AcroTex in Georgetown, Tx. We were sadly disappointed at the approach that the owner, Coach Jerry, took with a group of 3 year olds! Since he IS the owner, you would think that he especially has an interest in looking at the list to see first, if there are any new students in order to get their name right, as well as to be prepared to briefly tell the new kid a little of what to expect. Instead, he called our grandson by the wrong name the entire hour, then was obviously annoyed when our grandson did not respond when called by some other name! In addition, the coach went right into warming up for pikes, etc., and again seemed annoyed that our grandson didn’t have a clue of what to do! He also had no concept regarding how to retain the attention of this age group. Coach Jerry expected EVERYONE to stand and watch while he tried to lead one child through a course requiring SIX different positions. Instead of watching, every kid was squirming around and/or completely not paying attention. During the class, at some point most every kid walked off to «go potty». When our grandson did the same, however, when he returned he was scolded for not telling the coach that he was leaving to potty, and threatened to be placed in «time out» if he did again!(He threatened to place him in time-out 3 times throughout the hour class) By the way, not A SINGLE other kid announced that they were leaving to go potty! This type of information could’ve been included in the things he should’ve mentioned to any new kid when explaining a little of what to expect. This coach MIGHT be great with the older students, since he did seem to know a thing or two about gymnastics, but he has a lot to learn where dealing with 3 year olds is involved. Although not too much, he still somewhat«manhandled» our 3 year old when trying to make him do the correct position on various things.(I have VIDEO that confirms that I’m not exaggerating!) Needless to say, we will NOT be taking our grandson back to this place and instead look for other options in the Georgetown area!

We’ve been coming for a few years now for gymnastics for both boys and girls. We love it. The coaches are amazing and it doesn’t smell bad at all. It smells just like any other gym we’ve been to. I’m not sure what’s wrong with the other post maybe her nose is better than a dog. Ha, maybe she can smell if someone doesn’t wipe their butt good enough. Hilarious — I hope she doesn’t criticize her kids like that. I have a feeling she does that a lot. Poor family.

Shocked to see this place has no reviews, as it’s been at it’s current location for 20 years. I must say the ballet/tap teachers my daughter’s had are very nice. However, I have never in my life been to a place that smells as horrible as Acrotex does. Yes, it stinks. I asked a lady there the other day why she thought it smelled like that, and she said«20 years of kids’ sweat.» The place, with it’s purple and awful green walls looks and feels terrible inside as well as outside. Parking is extremely limited too. I am currently looking for a new dance studio for my little girl. I am frankly amazed at the stench in this place, which permeates thru the entire building, doesn’t violate some sort of health code. It’s like wet carpet, sweaty feet, and disgusting mold all in one. It’s so terrible, I’ve taken these few minutes to inform/warn others to not sign up their child here. The front desk person is always different and consistently clueless. They are completely disorganized too. There are other options in Georgetown as well as Round Rock. This place, quite literally, stink
