Really disappointed. This was once a very good Goodwill to shop in. I’m not sure if it is recently under new management but suddenly a lot of their items have doubled and in some cases quadrupled in price. They get a good amount of business because of the lack of other thrift & second hand stores in the area, but taking advantage in this manner is wrong. I understand price increases happen, but 100 to 400 percent increase is unscrupulous. And a lot of it is on things that people are buying way less of these days — books, CDs movies, etc. Perhaps they should have saved some money by not having professionally printed signs everywhere and taken care of the needy customers instead.

Although I’m not the biggest fan of the business practice behind Goodwill(there’s conflicting information about whether or not the money earned from donations actually helps others), I was kind of excited to discover that Georgetown had a Goodwill — the perfect place to pick up cheap ‘nice’ clothing for work(both for me and my husband). We came out here a couple times in search of clothes and… left empty-handed. This Goodwill seems new, and kind of spacious, but doesn’t have the best selection I’ve seen. Every section appeared limited(they had hardly any furniture or household goods) and while I usually can find a few gems in every Goodwill, nothing stood out to me here. Bummer. I know thrift stores are hit or miss, but it’s been a miss each time we’ve swung by.
