Five stars for the«Outstanding Performance by a Hair Care Professional» to Roxanne York. A slight mark down for not being exactly in my neighborhood. I mean, if they were really serious about getting a full five stars from me, they’d move closer to my house. You shouldn’t mark it down for being located in Georgetown, though. If you live nearby and long for the old time barber shop experience, I enthusiastically recommend this place to you.

While looking for a good barber, today I stumbled upon this place. After calling to make sure they were open and still existed, I set my GPS to find them. Low and behold the address currently in the system was incorrect. The correct address is 701 Sloan Drive. The other address is a residential area at a dead end street. I have to say, I ended up calling the same lady 4 times trying to find them. They are super hard to find. They are in a dead shopping mall called Indian Acre Plaza and then behind the«My Church» on the side. The My Church use to be the bowling alley. The lady talked me into finding their place finally and I was there. This place truly isn’t much to look at, but they really are a legit barber shop. There are 3 or 4 chairs inside and not much décor. They do have a waiting area and some magazines to read. They are one of the few places that will do a straight razor shave. This is an awsome note. I was unable to find straight razor shave around these here parts which made me search Amazon to order a blade to teach myself. Needless to say a couple bloody shaves later, I got the hang of it but that is another story. The lady I talked to on the phone was the one that cut my hair. She was really friendly and took her time. TOOKHERTIME! That alone is worth coming back for. To beat all, she did a fantastic job on my rag mob and made me no longer look like a hippie. Then she used a straight razor and warm foam to trim my neck and ears. That almost never happens. I will go back here for sure. If you are driving by this run down plaza and need your hair did, stop on in. This barber shop really is worth pulling in for. PS. Just a side note. They had a vacuum hose hooked to the razor. How fancy.
