What a great way to spend a couple of hours outdoors doing something new!
I have never tried sporting clay before. I did not even know there is a difference between shooting trap and sporting clay. The lady at the counter is very helpful. She explained that they have a sporting clay course that consists of 12 stations along a wooded path. We will follow the path on a map and find the different shooting stations. Since we have never been out here, she also came out to a station to show us how to use the wired as well as wireless clay throwers.
I am so glad we came out to shoot that day! It was a chilly but sunny day. The course winds through some very pretty terrain including valleys and open fields. It is well maintained. All but one of the thrower switches were in good working order. I want to compare it to golf: you walk along a path and accomplish a goal at each station. Each station has random degrees of difficulty. There are two or three electronic throwers at each station. You can choose to throw one or two clay at a time… depending on your skill. I am a first timer… needless to say, I did not get lucky too many times. But hubby, who is not a first timer, LOVED the course and everything about it. He had the biggest grin on his face I have ever seen! Yes, we will definitely be back for more.
