Lawhon Air Conditioning

I have been a client of Mr. Lawhon’s for the last 10 years. I’m unusual in that being a Realtor, and reluctant property Manager, I have AC needs many times per year. I refer Lawhon Air Conditioning to my clients who need service and repair. He is professional, and courteous. In the summer I’ve had him arrive at a service call at 7pm. It can’t be easy to be an AC Repairman in Texas in Summer, but Wayne does it with a sense of humor and a determined work ethic. Not only do I refer him to my clients, I am also a satisfied customer, and look forward to working with him.

Mr. Lawhon came to my house and looked over my furnace that had a bad heat exchanger and heavy rust that could possibly leak gas into my house. After looking over the unit and recommending a furnace that would work well with my insulation, sq ft of house and window ratings he came in WELL under 2 other quotes I had. He called and rescheduled me 2 days earlier because he had an opening. The knowledge and professionalism that he portrayed I knew he was the one to go with. I told him I could put plywood down on the floor in the attic so they could have a platform to work on. After calling him and letting him know I didn’t have time to do that he said it was no problem and he could still perform the install. My other two quotes were $ 600 and up to install a plywood floor! I cant express the gratefulness I have for Mr. Lawhon and his crew.

Generally I am not prone to genuflecting before repairpeople, but in Gary’s case, I will make an exception. He has been sent to our home a couple of times over the years, and each time he is punctual, courteous, educational, and genuinely interested in fixing the issue for good and inexpensively, which my Scottish heritage truly appreciates. I have had the pleasure of seeing Gary a few times over the past couple of months when he truly went the extra mile to help us out. The first time was in March when my former propane company kept telling me that I had a leak when I absolutely did not. (See my review of Centex Propane in Georgetown.) Gary came back a couple of times over the next few days just to make sure the situation was resolved, and did not charge us extra for the courtesy — we would have gladly paid as he truly goes beyond the call of duty. On Saturday, May 31, 2014, our A/​C went out. My husband, an electrician, believed it was the hard start capacitor, but decided that he would rather have Gary check it out than tinker with it and cause other problems, or discover that it was a little more complicated than replacing the capacitor. I called early Monday, June 2, 2014, and left a message. Gary called me back a couple of hours later to schedule for later that afternoon. Unfortunately for him, a job he had that afternoon took longer than expected. At 6 pm, he called me all apologetic about not calling sooner, that he might not be able to get to me until Tuesday, June 3, 2014, in the morning. Meh, it’s okay. We’ve got fans. We can wait. But no — Gary remembered that our house is between where he was and where he was going so he said he would drop by and look at it. Some 30 minutes later he pops by and looks at it with my husband and sure enough — hard start capacitor! He fixes it, and my husband had to beg him multiple times to take the $ 20 tip that he rightfully earned for his troubles (By saying we gave you a tip, I hope I am not getting you in trouble with the company, Gary — but your boss needs to give you a raise because you are a fantastic repairperson!) Again, I cannot say enough about the honesty and the stellar service we receive from Lawhon’s. Peeps in the 78 626 or surrounding areas would do well to call Lawhon’s first to resolve their HVAC issues.

I called Lawhon AC to get a tune up for my AC unit as well as fix a leak with my condensate line. I left a message and the owner got back with me right away. He worked with my schedule and got me scheduled for the following morning since it wasn’t an emergency; although, he was willing to get someone out there immediately if needed
The service tech, Gary, was punctual. He was eager to get me taken care of and conscious of my schedule so I wouldn’t be late to work. Gary was AWESOME! He did a great job explaining everything he was doing to me and was patient with my naïveté.
He did an excellent job replacing my drain and even redid it after I mentioned I’d prefer for it to be rerouted– no problem!
He blew out the clogs in my lines, replaced (rebuilt) to condensate line, inspected my AC unit (inside and out), and cleaned out the junk of the last year’s living.
I had done my Google research and asked him about doing some extra items just to be safe. He was honest and said that he wouldn’t feel right about it since they weren’t needed. No upsale whatsoever!
Overall I am very pleased with the service I received and the bill was WAY less than I was expecting. I’m so glad I found Lawhon AC. I will definitely be calling them back next time my AC is on the fritz!
