San Gabriel Motor Court

I adore this place. It has wonderful small-​town TX charm and great décor. Each room has it’s own feel, and is very authentic when it comes to furniture and artwork.
The beds are not the most comfortable I’ve slept in, and some of the rooms can be crowded, but for the price I really felt we got a good deal. I also didn’t like the lack of water pressure, but was surprised at the amount of room in the bathroom area the rooms had.
The service is also ideal — the staff is very warm and friendly. Willing to help all their guests. I know the guy who built their website, and he would vouch for me when I saw that the owners are great people truly invested in the local community and keeping the Georgetown charm around.

This is a lovely little place that is very Texas! It is the oldest motel in Georgetown, with the original buildings being built in the 1930’s! Many of the rooms are decorated with one of a kind, handmade furniture and are all very rustic Texas style! I deny it the final star only because it is not the height of modernity in terms of the bathrooms and size of the rooms and bathrooms, but what you give up in modernity, you gain many times over in uniqueness and visual satisfaction. When we were moving to Georgetown, we stayed here each trip and loved it very much! It has a very cool and beautiful location: it is situated right where the San Gabriel River splits into the north and south branches. Both parts of the river have sidewalks here, and you can walk down to the river from the motel (a bit of a walk) and walk along it, enjoying the peace and harmony a walk in nature brings! This is the place you want to stay if you are looking to get away from the homogeneity of chain hotels, and looking instead to try a little Texas flavor!
