We had lunch there yesterday and it is STILL our favorite restaurant in Georgetown! We choose to sit at one of the tables near the entrance, as you get more on your plate versus sitting at the hibachi grill. Our server was a little slow yesterday, but we weren’t in any hurry so it didn’t bother us at all. The food here is, and has always been, delicious! We have never had anything to complain about during our 40+ visits here since they opened. We highly recommend eating here!

It seems we had a different(better) experience than others have posted lately. This was probably some of the better hibachi I’ve had, and I’ve lived several different places. They were a tad slow, but it was worth it. Our chef did two tables and still did the volcano, zucchini catching, etc. Well done!

Who doesn’t like hibachi? The selections here are typical of Japanese Steakhouses, and they do a great job of presentation. The sushi was really good and they have a good selection.

Great food, great atmosphere, and even better waitresses. I love when they speak Asian to me. Very authentic. Cool fish too.

Sapporo has been one of our favorite places to eat since it opened in Georgetown. We’ve usually gone several times a year, for lunch and dinner on various days and times of the week. I’ve been noticing little things over the last couple of years to indicate this place was sliding. Restroom often unkempt. Service lacking. The chef interaction was hit or miss. Food quality also hit or miss. Portions went down, and were not always consistent, but prices went up. Last night was the nail in the coffin for me. We went as a party of 6, and stood waiting to be seated without acknowledgment of our presence by any staff members for about 7 minutes, altho it was not very busy. I used this chance to go ahead and use the ladies’ room. The women’s restroom was atrocious! There was an overpowering smell of urine, two stalls were ‘out of order’, and the trashcan was overflowing. The only stall available had the latch completely missing, and there was nowhere to hang my purse. I had to juggle my purse, at one point having to hold it in my mouth by the straps, to avoid putting it on the nasty floor. Honestly, even in the seediest of gas station bathrooms have a I never encountered the stale stench that I did this night in Sapporo’s bathroom. The toilet paper was near empty. The soap dispenser was broken. Toilet brush was lying underneath the sink on the floor. It was clear this bathroom had not been attended to in some time. When I emerged from the restroom and joined my group still waiting for acknowledgement, I looked around and noticed at least 2 staff members staring at their phones. Finally, we were seated. The girl serving us was nice enough, but rather inattentive. She took awhile to bring things out, would disappear throughout the meal with our cups to refill and take her precious time bringing it back. The salad dressing has changed. It tasted… watered down? I was not impressed much. The hibachi chef was good, and interactive. He did a pretty good job, and the food tasted good. It was hard for me to enjoy, because I was constantly wondering about the sanitary conditions of the restaurant in general, given the horrid state of the restroom. The server girl was done with us after she brought the bill. It was as if we didn’t exist any longer, except t collect the bill. No more refills or checking on us, altho we were still eating and several of us had empty glasses. Over the last couple of years, as this kind of stuff was noticed by me, I would write it off as maybe they had a super busy day, or we were in on an odd day of being short staffed. I can not say that any longer. This place has certainly changed, and not for the better. I will not go back to Sapporo in Georgetown again. If I want Hibachi, I will got to Lexington, or wait until I am visiting family in Louisville. This is such a shame, too, because this restaurant used to be really good.

Great service. Sushi take out was quick and very tasty. Staff was very nice. Much better than the place I stopped at last night. Had a craving for sushi again and this place hit the spot. Will definitely be back during my next trip through Lexington.

This used to be one of the places that we liked to go every time we visited Georgetown. But lately this place hasn’t filled our expectations. We have had the same cook this past couple of times, and he has not been friendly at all. A dry greeting, and no show. No onion with the volcano, not tricks when preparing the eggs, no one catching the food in the mouth. He just shows up, cooks, messes the orders, and this time he had both griddles going on, cooking for both tables at the same time, just he end up burning some of the food. The location is great, but we have not been impressed as of late. The first time we thought he was just having an off day, but it looks like it’s not the case. We will just have to look somewhere else to go, I think our trips there have come to an end.

If I could give it no stars I would. As a party of three we had sushi this evening, the tuna and the salmon were far below sushi grade and inedible. The sashimi and nigiri were very sub par, very very very fishy tasting. The anger roll was ok but when you cover the c grade fish with other flavors you don’t notice the sub sushi grade fish. My salmon had a few dark spots along with the foul flavor. The hibachi might be great but we’ll never be back to find out.

Food is great. Servers are rude. I had a woman argue with me over seating arrangements. I understand they want to fill up the seats, however it was lunch time and there wasn’t but a few other people in the restaurant. I didn’t feel I needed to be side by side another family. They have the best yum yum sauce ever. I only go back for the food never the experience.

This was my first Hibachi experience and I’m fairly certain I won’t be going back to another. The atmosphere is weird… They seat you around complete strangers all at one bar. I have a small baby and they wanted me to place her car seat on top of a high chair. I’m sorry, but I prefer either a sling or a chair. There wasn’t enough room for a chair really so I had to hold her the most of the time. I thought their meals were expensive for chicken and rice but you do get a lot of food. The salad is covered in their house-made«special sauce» which, to me, was awful! It tasted like thousand island and it drenched the lettuce and tomato mixed salad. Then comes soup! It has to be better! It looks like broth with mushrooms floating and tastes like nothin but salt water. Like I suppose other hibachi restaurants are, they cook the food in front of you on a grill. The food is covered in oil, salt, vinegar, and some other sauce that was white. I personally wasn’t impressed. The workers were super kind though and when I brought my barely touched meal home to my husband, he enjoyed it. So I’m giving three stars for the hospitality and with a mindset that it just probably wasn’t my cup of tea. All of the strangers at my table seemed to really enjoy it.

Tasty fusion style sushi along with classic, entertaining hibachi chefs, not a great bar selection. My daughter has always loved the indoor koi pond. The restaurant needs a good cleaning though.

Attentive service. Very nice staff. Food is good. You get exactly what you would expect at a Hibachi. One of the best dining experiences in Georgetown. Birthday are sufficiently embarrassing so bring some friends. Try the Goyza(pork dumplings) app. Kids night are good if your child has a small appetite.

We visited last night for dinner and were very under whelmed. We had a group of 6 people and sat at the Hibachi grill. Our orders were not made correctly, ordered chicken and steak and never got the steak. The chicken was over cooked and very dry and so was the rice. The sushi was good, not great. I wouldn’t recommend this location.

The food is great here! The service is okay. Everyone on staff is great and does the best they can to serve you, but the restaurant does not have enough people on staff. Every time I have come here I have had to wait a long time for my food after being seated. All the tables are currently full and there is one man that is serving everyone! Other that I love this place and will continue coming here. Lunch is great. You can get two rolls of sushi, soup and salad for about 8 bucks!

Am I a complete expert on sushi? No. Have I had over 100 sushi experiences in the past 20 years all over the United States? Yes. I am surprised this place is still in business. With the massive Toyota manufacturing campus just a mile down the road I would imagine a better sushi experience than this would exist in Georgetown. But no. The slices of fish on the nigiri were almost see-through they were so thin. The managers and wait-staff were speaking Chinese, not Japanese. My girlfriend had frantic diarrhea within two hours of eating here and was in tears with embarassment, having«treated» me to dinner here as a way of thanks for my having bought our previous several dinners out. If you want the middlin’ «hog trough» hibachi experience with the same old tired choreography and jokes that you’ll find from California to Maine then you’ll find the same cookie-cutter experience here. You probably also order«Kobe» steak and ask for it well done. If you want even average sushi, sashimi, or bento boxes you’re going to have to drive the half-hour to Lexington where there are several very good options operated by actual Japanese owners. I suggest finding Sugano on Eastland Parkway(in Lexington) and settling in for an authentic and delicious experience which is not much more expensive than here.

We visited before going to the local theater in the area. My boyfriend had been before and spoke highly of it. I’ve been to a few Japanese/sushi places in Lexington and have unfortunately been underwhelmed so I wasn’t getting my hopes up. We sat at the hibachi table since he wanted hibachi food and I ordered sushi. The entertainment was very similar to other hibachi style restaurants I’ve been to. My only complaint is my sushi came out not long after«the show» started so I was already finished eating before my boyfriend even started his. He let me sample some of his food. I’m fairly indifferent to plates of rice but the meat had a nice flavor. Not to mention the orange sauce(I forget the name) you can use to dip your food in. Our waitress was friendly and very keen to refill our drinks so that made me very happy. So I’d go back…

Well this was a surprise! I was told that there was no decent sushi to be found in the Lexington area and here we are… damn decent sushi for a really reasonable price! We found this place totally by mistake. After a day with some out of town friends who were showing at the horse park we headed back towards their hotel to look for a Ruby Tuesdays… and of course they got lost. So we ended up at this random steakhouse. So okay we figured we’d try it. We just got sushi bar service instead of hibachi and damn… goooood freakin sushi. Now it wasn’t LA/NYC/Vegas/whateverotherfancypantscity quality, but it was pretty close. And average 3 – 5 bucks for rolls… pretty damn cheap. Service was efficient and good. If you have lost all hope for good sushi around Lexington and haven’t hit this spot yet, check it out :)
