I had my eyes examined at the clinic on University Ave. in Georgetown TX. After a very quick exam, The doctor told me that I could continue with readers or she would write a RX for glasses. I wanted to purchase glasses as I felt the readers lenses clouded after wearing a length of time. She wrote the script and I went to look at the glasses. I checked at the prices of the lenses in their office and they did not offer anything affordable for me. I had been looking at prices at various eye ware places in the region and these were top of the line with high prices. I decided I could not afford their glass frames. So I requested, from the office staff, the release the RX to take with me. I have done this in other offices in two other states. The office staff told me that I had to pay $ 75.00 to get my RX. Supposedly since I am over 65 and I have Medicare, and they do not make as much money therefore they request have a fee to release the prescription. I have never heard of such a thing I plan to contact the Better Business Bureau and find out if this is legit. I went to Target and the exam with AARP was $ 45 and I found a wide selection of frames and lenses were half of that week. My advice is BUYERBEWARE.

They were real nice and fast, however they did extra work that wasn’t covered by my insurance. So, I have to pay out-of-pocket now. My primary care physician gave me a referral to them for a diabetic eye exam. I paid my co-pay, but was surprised to see that all of the work wasn’t covered when I got my statement this month. Caveat emptor indeed. I’ll be sure you ask them if it’s covered before they do anything, because they sure won’t do it for you and you won’t find out until much later.

I would not recommend this organization whatsoever. We went there about 90 days ago to have both mine and my wife’s eyes checked and while the service was relatively well management is horrible. My wife call back recently after we got our glasses from another vendor because their prices were far excessively high than what we found that others and we shop five sources and they were the highest priced. My wife called them and wanted to make sure that the glasses prescription that she received in fact matched what the doctor had prescribed and when we asked the doctor during our examination about that she said simply bring them in and we will check them. Now we have done this for 25 years making sure that the Mexican labs the duties do in fact do the right job. My wife called and was berated by a scheduler by the name of Kaite, part of their one piece of service fits all so you wait in the Q, as 5 or 10 customers ahead of you to talk to anyone. She was terse with my wife told her to do that would be $ 75 so I got on the phone and she treated me the exact same way. I sent an email to the organization received a phone call today from the office manager of the Georgetown location at 950 University, Georgetown Texas and was told that their policy was 90 days they would look at your glasses because the manufacturers would only replace lenses up to 90 days if they were made wrong or they were unacceptable. I indicated to the individual that we did not purchase our lenses from there so we were not concerned about replacing our lenses from them and there was no warranty required we just simply wanted to make sure that the lenses that we received in fact match the specifications. She said that was their policy and it was hung on the wall so I suspect when you go into an eye doctor and your eyes are dilated and the room you’re in is dimly lit your to walk around and check all of their policies that are stuck with taped to the wall or pasted flat on some horizontal surface to make sure that you are in fact knowledgeable of their policies. When I told the manager of the Georgetown office that, She got irritated with me and I said look, it’s not about the money was about the fact that your doctor had said we could come back and did not say do it in 90 days. Plus the fact that it’s obvious she changed her story because this unit she learned that the 90 days had nothing whatsoever to do with checking the glasses because we were not claiming any replacement by them then she got defensive and started shifting again. I finally told her that it wasn’t about the money it was about the principal and the doctor had told me that and my wife that as we were in the same room and I thought they would honor their position but since they did not I was not going to sit in debated with her, there is things like this called social media and reviews. As soon as I indicated that I will just place a review she hung up on me. I suspect that you will find good reviews for every organization and I suspect you will find bad reviews from every organization. I generally don’t write many reviews, I don’t have a twitter account, I don’t instagram, I don’t have a Facebook account that I actively use, We pretty much stayed to ourselves but when this office manager treats me the way that she did I want to tell somebody about it. I have now told somebody about it and I do not recommend this establishment at any of their locations because I had no assistance when trying to reach the corporate office. PS… Should you find any typographical errors it is because I use voice recognition and I simply do not want to waste anymore time making sure that everything that was said had the proper i’s doted and t’s crossed

My son has been coming here for a few years now. Dr Catalasan is great, she takes a lot if time with him and answers all of his questions as well as mine. The staff is also nice and friendly as well. We will recommend Texan Eye in Georgetown to our friends.
