Wow. Bev’s Miner’s Club is my favorite bar in the world. I’ve sat with Bev for many an hour, sometimes just the two of us, listening to big band music and discussing our lives. I’ve also been there for really great New Year’s Eve parties when there was barely room for the live band, let alone the dancers. The F.R.O.Gs(Friendly Retired Old Geezers) are typically there during Friday happy hour. When people come in, Bev and regulars want to know where you’ve been and how come it took you so long to get there, anyway. One of my favorite stories is that we were hanging around buying rounds of drinks and in walks this guy from the big city. Eventually, it was his turn to buy, and I could see that he thought that he was the mark and the bill was going to be huge. Little did he realize that at the time, drinks were $ 2-$ 3 and the entire bar was a $ 26+tip expense. The look of relief on his face was priceless when he realized that he was not going to be bankrupt. As far as details: Cameron has been tending bar lately and she is a really great find. Bev tends bar as well. Bev’s is typically open at 5pm and often closes at 8pm, but stays open as long as people are there and enjoying themselves. There is a pool table and a TV.

I LOVE Bev’s! This is my favorite bar in Gerlach, NV. It’s run by a lovely elderly woman and a couple of her closest friends. The drinks are inexpensive, she serves amazing little pizzas for $ 5, and the décor — which features a frog theme — is the cutest. For NYE, there’s usually music to be heard. The hospitality is THEBESTINTOWN!
