Went there with my wife on a date. Good food, cozy atmosphere. I don’t think that I would take my family there, not that type of atmosphere that would be good for younger kids.

This restaurant is awful. My father in law cannot eat spicy foods due to having cancer awhile back. Before ordering his food he made sure to ask the waitress questions about what he was thinking of ordering so he could make sure it wasn’t spicy. When he received his meal he was unable to eat it and he asked to speak to the manager. He told the manager that he was unable to eat it and that he would like to order something he could actually eat. The manager proceeded to tell him that he could order something new, however they were going to charge him for the meal he was unable to eat. My father in law decided not to get anything else to eat because he was not going to pay for two meals just for himself(especially one he couldn’t even eat) so he ended up getting charged for the meal and didn’t even get to eat dinner. As a manager of a restaurant, your job is to make sure that your customers are satisfied and if they are not, you try to make that situation better so the customers continue to come back to your restaurant. This restaurant doesn’t handle things that way. Please do not even waste your money or time at this awful place. Agrodolce you need to hire new managers and/or reevaluate the way you handle customer service.

I went there for my birthday a few years ago. I loved it so much that I decided to take my very hard to please cousin to this place for lunch. She loved it. I threw my sister’s graduation party here, every single one of the guests loved the food. I have to say this place has yet to disappoint me. And their dessert variety is to die for. Oh, and the service was amazing every single time. Try it!

I would give it one star but the food is good. I waited 30 minutes for my pizza. Granted it was a little late for lunch but you could have warned me before I realized I’d have to use vacation time to eat. 10 minutes — an apology works…30 minutes is way beyond that.

I went here with a friend tonight. I was served literally the worst gnocchi I’ve ever had. It was huge(as big as my thumb), not shaped at all so it didn’t hold the sauce, and under cooked. It was extremely tough to chew and my mouth still hurts from attempting to eat it. I ate a few pieces, trying to push through it, but then my friend tried it and told me to send it back. So I sent it back and asked for a different menu item. The manager refused to replace my meal or comp it. However, I was offered the opportunity to purchase an additional meal(on top of my inedible one.) I will never go here again.

So far so good. Hostess was very polite and I’ve made reservations. Regarding reservations, I’ve had a few about visiting this place due to several complaints about service as well as the food. I love pizza, so off we go. Got there at 7pm Saturday night. Place was full. What at first looks like a long bar is actually kitchen service. They have a small bar at the end. There is string lighting across a wood pergola. Some bulbs needed replacing and all needed dusting. Tile flooring with modest decorations. Other reviewed the place as noisy due to the flooring. I would say the level of noise fit the vibe. Marble table tops with linen napkins a sturdy silverware. I found the service to be above average. Our waitress was informative and paid attention to our needs. They bring out freshly made bread that seemed like ot wanted to be focaccia. It was ok but would do better with coarse salt and fresh rosemary baked in. It was served with black olive topinod. They could make a better spread using Kalamata olives. We ordered drinks and when they arrived ordered apps. We ordered risotto balls and split the arugula salad. Both were tasty. For entrees we got the seafood pescatora and gnocchi and wild mushrooms. Both tasty. The gnocchi was formed differently then what I’m used to. Maybe on the too big side. The seafood used in the pescatora was from frozen. Small scallops, shrimp and mussles. All seemed to be handled well as their texture seemed firm. The dish was very good. We then ordered the pizza special. It was a Hawaiian style with pulled pork, pineapples, and a few other ingredients some of which had just enough kick. The toppings were a god combination. I was not a fan of the crust. They could do better. I think they bake fresh bread there, they could work more on pizza dough and its flavor. Moved on to dessert. Apple bread pudding and tiramisu. Both had very good portions and flavor. 2 hours later we left happy and stuffed.

This place is pretty expensive for what you get. The décor is bland and boring. No carpet so the restaurant is loud. Prices on beer are reasonable. Pizza prices are reasonable as well. $ 17-& $ 20 for an entrée is asking too much for the environment. Service is poor and the staff has no way to visibly see tables due to the 2 walls blocking off everything. Go here if you want to risk your dining experience.

Had one of their salads with avocado on it and LOVE it. Went back again for it. If you want slightly upscale Italian, this is your place. If you want a better-than-normal lunch, this is your place. I even got work done there.

Horrible everything … Tomato soup– sucks Broccoli soup– sucks more Spinach and beet salad not fresh and not put together well. The blue cheese doesn’t go with dish. I would of preferred if they used goat cheese and dressed the salad with a better option. The pizza was horrible as well, crust tasted like it was previously frozen and the sauce had no flavor. What is with no servers in the day? No refills on sodas? The kitchen guys are on their phones texting in plain view while touching and preparing your food. Not sure how this place stays in business. Maybe the pasta? I don’t think I will be going back to find out.

I have only been once, but the wine was delicious and my bruschetta was to die for. I’ll definitely be back! Elise is the best server there!

Agrodolce is one of my favorite restaurants ever. It is a family favorite. We have been going here for years. I love love love the bread, olive oil, and olives that come out at the beginning. My favorite go to dish is the Chicken Gillante. The service has always been fantastic. I don’t know why anyone would give this place a negative review. Great local spot!

Agrodolce is one of those restaurants that you forget how good it is until someone suggests going there and you return after a long absence away. You then remind yourself to put it on your«go to» list. They were super accommodating with our group of 6 plus a baby(who did sleep through dinner). We shared several appetizers, which we are all delicious. I enjoyed the gnocchi with mushrooms, which was excellent. The gnocchi were perfectly cooked and just the right balance of mushrooms. Their wine list is also a huge plus as they have wines across a variety of price ranges. Note to self — remind myself to get back here soon!

We walked in at 5:30PM on a Saturday to meet a third for dinner. An indifferent hostess said there was only one table for more than two people open, and it was right inside the front door. But we observed that half the house(the tables along the windows) was empty! As a result, every time someone came in or left, we got blasted with cold air. And only few minutes after we were seated, diners were seated at those tables! A timid server introduced himself and for the rest of the evening pretty much left things up to us to execute the dinner service. No specials. Not much of a welcome. Just a do you want anything to drink? Are you ready to order? Are you do done? Are you done? Can I take your plate??? We felt a little rushed. There is not really a fine line between rushing diners and being inattentive. Strike one. Jumping ahead, we received different menus for dessert: two different lists! We ordered a Chocolate Macaroon Torte to share. Turns out they were either out(strange for early on a Saturday), or this item wasn’t supposed to be on the list in the first place. So we switched to a plain cheesecake, which was quite good. But we were charged for BOTH desserts! I didn’t see that until we got home, and $ 8 isn’t worth a trip back to the place to complain. So much for a POS system that lets the servers bill the customers for items that are not even on the menu! Strike two. We wanted to have a good time. Really, we did. We’ve been to Agrodolce many times for over a decade, and always considered ourselves fortunate to have an accessible place nearby(no metro trip to DC or drive to the Maryland burbs required) to get really good food. OK, so we have a green server and busboy. All three of the folks in the front half of the house need some coaching to interact with the $ 90 before tip sit down diners. The pizza and beer crowd may be OK with this, but it was new to us at Agro. The back half of the house has problems too. My wife’s Spinach and Roasted Beets salad was beautiful and delicious. Our guest’s Grilled Duck Breast with Pear & Cheese Sacchette looked embalmed but apparently tasted good. My «Duck Confit — Served with rustic smashed sweet potatoes, rapine, fried leeks» was truly awful. One of the worst duck dishes I’ve had in my life. The plate arrived COLD and with a big mound of plain mashed sweet potatoes, a big mound of blanched broccoli in big hunks(plain no seasoning and it did not look like broccoli rabe to me), one tiny overcooked dry duck leg — shredded off the bone. The«broccoli» was on top of what appeared and tasted like a blob of out-of-the-jar minced garlic(where were the leeeks?). I can still taste it the next morning. Not a good use of $ 21. We top off the experience with my wife’s coffee: She ordered decaf and received a refill or two during the evening. But we don’t think it was decaf because she was up all night wired by caffeine. Strike three. What happened to our favorite local restaurant? I’m afraid we have to say goodbye to this place until the entrées are again as good as the prices suggest they will be, and the wait staff receives some serious in-service training.

I ate here last Friday during happy hour. I had a pint for a reasonable $ 4, but the medium to small linguine was $ 20?! The tomatoes still had the green cores in them. The service was excellent and the patio ambience cozy with live music. But I won’t return due to the exorbitant food prices.

We are in the process of eating here now. I would not recommend this restaurant. They were polite and helpful when you first walk in. The waitress comes over to refill your drinks. We ordered the slider appetizer. It took almost half an hour to get them. The bread was like a hockey puck. The meat was way to well done. It has now been 45 minutes and we don’t have our main course. Once the main course came, the food was very good! Jessica was a good waitress!

The last time my husband and I tried to eat here we walked out. It was pretty dead in there and after 5 minutes no one had come to take our order. We gave them another shot this week, and we walked out AGAIN! We came in for lunch. The bartender told us to grab a table and order at the bar. Now if I’m paying over $ 15 for an entrée I think you should wait on me. Maybe you think this is snobby, but if I wanted counter service I’d go to Chipotle or &pizza. I always want to like this place but it seriously disappoints.

First off, the food was really, really delicious. The End. Seriously. I am finding that I am writing more and more 2 and 3 star reviews and I don’t like it! Mostly because when I am spending $ 70 before tip, I want an incredible experience as well as the most delicious food. Walk in and greeted immediately by the bartender. She says the host will be right back and in less than 30 seconds, he rounded the corner. It was New Year’s Eve and everyone is in good spirits! We were squished in next to a six topper filled with young adults. Was not a problem until they got up to leave and I was hit a couple of times by a coat sleeve. On the flip side, my friend was not spared as the woman sitting directly behind her actually pinned her in. :) Our server was Vianey and she was very sweet albeit very young and forgetful. I said I wanted to wait and have a glass of wine with my entrée and she walked off before my friend could order herself a glass of white wine. When the young lady came back, she ordered her wine and I decided that since I could not get Chianti by the glass, I was just going to have a Stella. The bread and olive tapenade was surprisingly good. It was more like a flat bread yet airy. My add a salad for $ 3 was very tart and the raw onions were painful. I asked for a glass for my Stella and after finishing my salad, I gave up and walked to the bar for one. The pork scaloppini was perfectly tender and the ragu of mushrooms were flavorful. Risotto was creamy and tender. The farfalle primavera was full of vegetables in a nice marinara. We were offered grated parmesan but again, sat waiting while our food cooled. By this time, I was done. I had tried engaging her and asking her for her opinion on which dish I should order. I complimented her on her recommendations. I could not get her to remember that we were sitting in her section. I have come to the conclusion that it wasn’t just our server. While I was at the bar asking for a chilled glass for my beer, another patron walked up to the bar and asked if the restaurant was short on staff because they had been sitting and waiting for over 5 minutes and no one had even acknowledge them. Both of the servers were very young and were probably new-ish to waiting tables. If it wasn’t closing time, I would have left a note with some helpful tips, but hopefully, as she gains experience she will be a lot more attentive. ps. I had the best trio mascarpone cheesecake. Vianey wanted us to leave but instead of offering me a box for most of my slice, I guess she expected me to just leave it for the trash. Maybe everyone else wanted the night off… but next time just close early.

I’ve always seen this place but never stopped in. Years later I moved back to the area and decided to try it out. The place is warm and inviting. High exposed ceilings, bulb lit trellises, walls of wine, plenty to look at that fits the vibe. I chose to sit at the small bar that had a few nice beers on tap and a view directly into the kitchen /brick woodfire oven. The kitchen is very clean. You can see the line chefs caring for each and every dish then cleaning up right behind every step. The staff members are all very friendly as well. I’ve since made this my staple italian place to take family and friends. The appetizer happy hour deal is insanely good(half off). They have the biggest most flavorful mussels I’ve had(New Zealand mussels). Their pizzas are hand made to order and thrown in a brick oven cooked to perfection. The bread and tapenade they serve is devilish. The bread is warm, flaky, buttery, and moist, it could almost be it’s own meal. Their deserts are top of the line. My only complaint is that I could send myself into a food coma every time I eat here. See photos.
