Man, it’s hard to find good landscapers around here. I used one a couple years ago and their performance was «okay» and their price was «way high» so I ditched them and decided to shop around more. Lots of failed attempt to find one through Unilocal… dead numbers, didn’t show up for the appointment, never answered the phone…
So I tried this one, despite having no reviews, cause those weeds aren’t gonna kill themselves, ya know.
If I was clever, I’d have done a before/​after set of pictures. I am apparently not that clever. Imagine, however, tall bushes, poorly pruned and now taller than I can reach… flower beds overtaken by fast growing vines… a nice garden area with more weeds than garden… basically it was like an episode of «Life After People». Just go google for that and there’s your «before» image.
I started off with an email saying where I was and what I wanted and my phone number and Jon called me later to set up an appointment. We met up on a Saturday to go over what I wanted done and he explained the price for me, breaking it down by materials and labor (something the previous landscaper didn’t do). He knew the names of all the random crud, good and bad, poking out of the various tangles of plants and vines around my house, as well as the maladies impacting some of the bushes. He and a worker came out that Monday and did the job while I was at work, so I came home to a totally cleaned up exterior. Weeds gone, bushes nicely trimmed, lots of mulch, a little regrading work, etc.
In the end, he charged less than the other landscaper and did a better job.
I’ve already scheduled a gutter cleaning (he’s also charging me slightly less for that than the previous company I used) and round 2 will be «what to plant in all this newly cleared and mulched space».
So far so good. I would definitely give him a shot if you’re needing landscape work done.
