I stopped in for a quick lunch today meeting a friend. The space is open, clean, bright(in a good way) and welcoming. The staff was very welcoming and chatty. Nice menu. I prefer the Greek side of it. We both had gyros(Yee roes!). I had no idea there were varieties. We chose differently and both were served pronto(5 minutes!) with a side salad. Gotta get my greens. Mine was better than his, and his better than mine, in his opinion.(He was wrong). Simple and fresh — it’s Greek food! In and out and happy in 30 minutes. Perfect. Before we left, we ordered hummus and babbaganoush to take home. That’s where good goes to amazing. The babbaganoush was about the best I’ve had. Creamy, smoky and slightly spicy. Ummmmm… Amazing. Nothing less. The pita that came with it was even terrific. The hummus wasn’t far behind, but the babba… I digress. I’ll go back. No question.

Delicious med food with great variety. Paninis, Gyros, etc. good vegetarian options too. Unassuming exterior, unexpected excellence.

Really could be three stars, but the food just not that good. The gyros, well I wouldn’t call them that. They ate not pitta bread. The people are very very nice, service is great, but that’s about it.

Nice blend of light Mediterranean food. Jewish, southern Italian, Greek, and various Arabic cuisine. Most of it nice and light but satisfying The lamb and beef gyro is a real highlight. The grassiness of the lamb is complimented by the earthly herbs. It is seasoned beautifully. The chilled pasta on the side is a nice marriage with gyro Our server was Rachel. She was attentive and very bright. Lovely lady. The atmosphere is fine. The prices are fair and the portions are fine. Give it a shot.

Had the gyros, and it was good. Very light texture to the pita bread, and a small side salad included in the reasonable price. Not great, not bad. I’m not saying you have to go, but if you do you should get your money’s worth.

The incredible smell coming from this place will make you think you are in greek heaven. I made a to go order of spinach dip, the Scilian gyro, and baklava. The service was kind and quick. The one cook seemed a bit«over his job» but his creations were very tasty. The spinach dip is chock full of olive oily garlicky spinach. The grilled gyro was delicious but very uneven. Half of it had no peppers or cheese. The other half had cheese and one pepper. The pesto on the gyro and the pasta salad side was DELICIOUS. Then, finally, the baklava was perfection. I will be back again soon!

Great little spot for lunch. Stopped by for a quick Greek Gyro Salad… basically a lot of gyro stuff without the pita. It was yummy… I can’t say how authentic it was, but it was fresh, plentiful, and tasty. Scary thought, but it was pretty healthy as well. Service was very friendly and welcoming. I’ve got to come back to taste some of their other items!

I ordered the Original Gyro, and my-oh-my was it delicious! They have different types of Mediterranean food, and I decided that I wanted to try one of their steamed gyros. It came with a side of noodles, and because I purchased a sweet tea, it came with a bag of chips for only a penny extra. The taste is flavorful! They have fresh ingredients, as well! Try this place out for a taste of the Mediterranean in Memphis unlike no other!

Some of the best gyros you will every try! I used to go here once a week when I worked out there in the Germantown/Kirby area. It was addictive! The sauce was always perfect. The bread was always light and hot. The meats and veggies tender too! The staff was quick and friendly even during lunch hour! I really love this place.

I’ve been twice in two days. First visit yesterday, couldn’t wait to get back today. Enough said, right? Almost… food is SOGOOD! And the people there are so, so nice! What a hidden little gem! Also? I’ve been to all the other Mediterranean style restaurants in town. This one has, hands down, the best food. Serious. Go here. Opaa dip, original gyra, café med pita, lentil soup – all of it. So good!

Well, well, well. Wasn’t this just a little party in my mouth? I love me some Mediterranean food and I’m super glad to have finally gone here. I’m not in the area much, but honey, I might make the trek out here when a craving comes a calling. If you’re wondering what app you should get, look no further than the olive and feta cheese dip. I was licking that plate clean. Definitely not what I expected in a strip mall. Two enthusiastic thumbs up.

This was by far my worst food experience Memphis!!! The spinach dip was so bland we had to send it back, chips were good though, the humus seemed to be watered down, and the yani gyro looked so good in the picture that I told me wife I was just sure this dish couldn’t be messed up since it looked so good in the pics and it had so many fresh veges…wrong again the veges were a little old, bland, mushy and flavorless. The lamb was a lamb and beef mixture, per the guys in. The kitchen??? But again flavors absent from the dish… I should have ran when I saw the level of authenticity this place had. Save your money on this one and just go eat a dry cold hamburger from mcdonalds you will get way… more flavor than this spot has to offer. I would encourage t: ae guys to take a trip to little rock and eat at Layla’s they could teach you a thing or two! Just my humble opinion!!! /! Peace

We LOVE Mediterranean food and were excited to try Café Med because of the glowing reviews and the price, but we were sadly disappointed. We ordered the Greek spinach dip to start. It was bland and lifeless so we sent it back for some hummus… Can’t really mess up hummus! Unfortunately you can. It was also bland but we kept it. We ordered the Yanni Gyro to share… Can’t really mess up a gyro! Wrong again. It was hard to finish eating. The server was nice. I wish I had better stuff to say :/

A great little lunch place in what can be a somewhat boring area for lunch choices. The Classic Gyro Deluxe is my go to… and it is big, easily a 2 meal sandwich. I don’t know where they get the bread from, but its awesome. The regular gyros are great too. Hummus is above average, and I have never heard any complaints from my other dining friends regarding their choices. The parking lot can be a bit challenging but its worth it. They also do a good job with take out orders too, just call ahead! If you haven’t been here yet, you need to do yourself a favor and get there!

I ordered the Yanni Gyro which was a steamed pita stuffed with gyro meat, topped with babaganoush and tabouli salad. It was excellent. Probably one of my favorite things to ever eat. I love babaganoush and tabouli alone. These were both very well made here. Altogether it was a fabulous combination. My beau ordered the chicken Caesar wrap which was a steamed pita stuffed with chicken and topped with lettuce, tomato, bell pepper, mushrooms, Parmesan, and Caesar dressing. He said it was«pretty good.» Man speak for he’d «probably order it next visit.» The pitas came with sides of pasta salad. It was rotini pasta sprinkled with dried herbs, which made it rather dry and the pasta itself was mushy. That’s the only reason I took away a star. Next time I would ask for a substitution or even go without a side as the gyro is huge. I will definitely be back. I want to try an appetizer next time.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this place. Excellent hummus. The Athenan Gyro is my fave, but the paninis and steamed pita sandwiches are great, also. Awesome salads, and the hummus and pita are great!!! The owners are nice and you can tell they really want you to be satisfied.

Café Med is my kind of cute little place. They have more gyro sandwiches under one roof than any other mediterranean places I have ever been to. I like how they play with different vegetable combinations. Last time I chose the Yanni Gyro which has gyro meat, baba ganoush& tabbouleh salad, after peeling my eyes away from the Trojan Gyro(with spinach, sun-dried tomatoes, purple onions & marinated artichoke hearts), just to name one. Not a fan for gyro meat? Try their grilled pita sandwiches, which feature your usual deli meats stuffed inside the pita pocket instead of between two slices of bread. I like the less bread/more filling looks, not to mention the nice grill marks. Not a fan for pita bread? They have panini with focaccia bread. Their baklava is a little denser than what I am used to. I like my baklava a bit airier and fluffier, but I like theirs for not being cloyingly sweet or skimpy on pistachios. Service is always wonderful. They lost one star to me for having one of the worst hummus I’ve ever had. How this fine establishment could underdeliver such a simple thing is beyond me.
