CoMMotion is such an awesome place to dance and get in shape! The staff is friendly and supportive and the instructors are amazing! About three years ago I started with Zumba once a week and now I’m there every day and am in the best shape of my life (wearing favorite clothes from over 10 years ago)! The trainers and instructors make it so fun that I look forward to my workouts. During the week the 10 a.m. class is different almost every day so I get a great workout mix without having to change my daily routine. I never thought I could do TRX (suspension training) and now I don’t think I could live without it. It has made a huge difference in my fitness level and since there are modifications for every exercise I’m never nervous about trying something new… like the recently added Piyo class (Pilates/​yoga combo) which is completely different from all the other fitness classes. The Zumba and Dance Fitness instructors keep the routines fresh and look for ways to challenge us and help us take our abilities to the next level. I’m also completely spoiled by the floor… it’s a floating dance floor that never gets sticky so it is always easy to swivel and since it is floating (not just laid on the concrete) my knees never hurt. I’ve watched bits of their regular dance classes (jazz, hip hop, tap, ballet) and been impressed. So I think it’s a great place for kids and people interested in those forms of dance, too. They keep the classes positive while still challenging the dancers and getting them to be the best they can be. I highly recommend CoMMotion for all your dance fitness, fitness and dance needs!

Friendly, clean facility with very good Zumba Classes. They also offer WERQ and flirty girl fitness; however the class times do not work for my schedule-​but I would love to try them some day!

My wife & I are very pleased with our weekly Pilates class at CoMMotion Dance & Fitness Studio. My doctor recommended that I take a Pilates class in order to deal with a chronic back problem and after taking the Pilates class for the past year-​and-​a-​half, my quality of life has clearly improved. Our instructor, Bonnie, does an excellent job of explaining the correct form of each exercise to maximize it’s intended benefit, increasing the complexity of the exercises as we progress in skill, and introducing new exercises to keep the work-​out varied. We highly recommend the Pilates class at CoMMotion.

When I moved to Maryland last year, I was relieved to find a fitness studio with Pilates and yoga classes so close to my apartment in Germantown. After having attended classes consistently at Commotion for the last year, I have got to say that I am impressed. Bonnie, Dawn, and all of the instructors are ALWAYS friendly and energetic (seriously, I don’t know how they have so much positive energy whether it’s 8 a.m. or 8 p.m.) which keeps me motivated to keep coming to class even when I would normally be tired and just want to sit on the couch. They all are also HIGHLY knowledgable (I teach Anatomy and Physiology at the college level and can say without a doubt that these ladies and gentlemen know their stuff) which has helped me to lose and keep off about 20 pounds. Not only have I dropped 2 pant sizes, but I am sure that if I keep going to Commotion regularly I will lose another pant size by next summer and be in the best shape I’ve been in the last 10 years. Seriously, you are doing yourself a disservice if you don’t checkout their unlimited package. Their team will help you change your life!

I have done MANY things at CoMMotion, and this review is very much overdue.
From my own experience: This is a fun and friendly place to do fitness classes. I love the zumba and the pilates. They are done with a great spirit and accommodate people of all fitness levels. If you are looking for any kind of fitness class, you should drop on by.
From the perspective of a mom: My 9 year-​old daughter recently finished up 2 «semesters» worth of ballet classes here. Now let me say that from her perspective she had a great time. She loved her teacher, and she loved dancing. SHE was very much looking forward to the end-​of-​the-​year Showcase. I, however, was not. I was sure that my sweet little girl could never have paid attention long enough to learn the dance. I was sure that she would be the one who was dancing to her own tune, doing her own thing. So as I sat at the Showcase, I sat slumped back in my chair, with a small lump of anxiety in my throat.
And then my little girl took the stage. And there she was. Dancing in time with the music. Dancing in the front row. With all the rest of her class. Being a DANCER! Looking so beautiful and amazing that I cried. Literally, I cried. All the way through the performance. Because the wonderful teachers at CoMMotion were able to teach my sweet girl with no attention span to be a dancer.
I love this studio, and if you check it out, I am sure you are going to love it too!

This studio has the best fitness classes during the day for adults! TRX suspension workout is an amazing half hour that works your whole body to make you look and feel great! Follow that class with a zumba, pilates or a hypergravity workout and you will be smiling all week long!
