Courtyard by Marriott

Nice location. Convenient for me. Stayed here several times. Front staff is always polite and helpful. BUT not digging the 3:30 am trash pick-​up outside! Must be on Wednesday mornings because haven’t noticed before. The poorly fitting windows do not help with noise reduction either. Shame, because the Courtyard and Fairfield on this side of Memphis are right next to active train tracks!

Not the Marriott level of service I’m used to. I find it amazing that the shower curtain is way too short and water gets all over the floor.
Why would that not be addressed?
I won’t stay here again.

Hot tub and pool are same temp. I specifically booked this place so I could get my back warmed up. Next time will find something else.

Not up to Marriott standards. The staff needs training, they were all friendly but … Waited 10 minutes at the front desk to check in because nobody was there. I finally had to go find them. The water took 5 mins to heat up and the bathroom gets soaked when shower is in use. Easy fix by putting a splash guard up. There is mold starting to grow in the corners of the bathrooms and you can tell it keeps getting painted over as a bandaid to what’s going to be a bigger problem soon enough. The beds were uncomfortable and the bedding was not what you would expect of a Marriott. Asked for clean towels they never came. The maids block the halls while on their phone. Again the staff is friendly so that’s a plus. I wouldn’t stay here again.

We stay at a lot of Marriott brand hotels because my parents have a rewards card with them. The hotels are usually great: clean, updated, friendly workers, good breakfast. This location fell short of my expectations. We arrived around 5pm and I wanted to take a shower. I ran the water for 15 mins and it never got hot, only lukewarm, and it was a light shade of brown! We called down to the front desk a few hours later after getting back from dinner and were told they were having plumbing issues, and that if we kept running the water, it would eventually warm up and clear up. It finally did, however by that time I decided I just wanted to go to bed. Our shower also leaked really bad, leaving the entire bathroom soaked. It didn’t bother me much since we were only staying 1 night, however if we were staying any longer, I would have requested a room swap. We had just stayed at another Courtyard location the day before, so the experience was fresh in our minds for this one. We ended up getting breakfast here and ordered the same things we got at the other location: a strawberry banana smoothie and oatmeal. Both were not as good as they were at the other location, and the workers seemed disorganized and stressed out. If we come to Memphis again we will not stay again. The reason I gave 3 stars instead of 2 is because the room was clean and beds were comfortable.

Very nice hotel! Front desk clerk was very helpful and courteous. Hotel seems to be in an extremely nice location in Memphis.
Rooms are very clean. Hotel seems new or recently renovated. Indoor pool was a blast for the kids!
Free wifi and parking!
Will stay again.

Very nice hotel! Very clean and extremely nice staff! We asked for a room away from everyone, so kids wouldn’t disturb anyone. They worked with us.

This Courtyard has old bones, but has been recently remodeled. There’s still some remnants of the old hotel showing through. It was okay for the price, but I’ll likely take my business to another Marriott location around the Germantown area due to the customer service at this location… or lack thereof.

I called the hotel to inquire about a room and the rate. «Hello, this is the Courtyard, please hold». After 5 minutes of holding, they hung up. I called back. The phone just rang and rang. I hung up.
Guess I will look for another hotel tonight.

It’s no Ritz, but they don’t pretend to be. For the price, this Courtyard really gets it done. It’s It’s not centrally located for Memphis, but Germantown seems to be a nice little ‘hood surrounded by other nice little ‘hoods. It only took us about 15 – 20 minutes to drive into downtown.
The bed was comfy and perfectly clean, the bathroom was spacious, and checking-​in and out was a breeze. Not to mention, the staff was really top-​notch. Super helpful with things like grabbing us a fork when Chili’s To-​Go forgot to pack one, and actually encouraging us to use our free in-​house Starbucks coupons before we left (we had totally forgotten about them). They were sweet!
