I went for the«Friday» special catfish. I had a very unimpressive visit all around. I am on the fence on even two stars. My waitress was just kind of blah. She displayed almost zero personality and did her job without any indication of at least having the slightest personal contentment in her life. Wrong job sweetie, your personality is more suited for convenience stores and not as person who depends on tips to make a living. The catfish was mushy and had a very strange texture to it. I am not sure if it was Swai but it was at the very least the worst catfish I have ever had. The price was fair on the menu but what I was served sucked and was not worth the money paid for it. It came with one fillet and was very thin. I was almost afraid it was bad because of the texture. The macaroni and cheese was fair at best, not much to say about them. The mashed potatoes were maybe the best thing I had, but still inferior to almost all other places around. KFC has better mashed potatoes… The bread served was the worst I have ever had. I am not even sure what the square one was supposed to be. Both were room temperature and not good at all. I don’t think we will be trying it again.

I decided to do something different and try a different breakfast spot. My fiend JT had been telling me about this this place for quite sometime and since I was in the neighborhood, I decided to give it a try. I loved the home style décor and atmosphere. Let me say, I did not have high expectations, but I felt better after I spoke to some patrons leaving that indicated that the food was delicious. The food was delicious, the omelet was perfect and the cheese grits were the best I had ever had.(Including my own). The service was good. The only issue we had was that they did not have anymore Turkey sausages left, thus I had to take off one star. The turkey sausage would have made the meal truly complete.

Nothing fancy, just good«Mom-n-Pop» type food. The service was good, but the prices were a bit high for what you get. I would suggest dropping prices by about 20%. You just might get a little more business that way.

This place was horrible! People who came in after us were served their food way before us. The food was so bad that neither my wife or I finished our lunch. A man I assume is the owner is a d*ck head. An elderly lady paying her check before me had a question about the coupon. After she left he mocked her where others could easily overhear. I would be willing to bet that any good review is someone related to the owners. Will not be back.

Diner food at its best. This is the best place in Germantown to get a good old-fashioned meat & three, or vegetable plate. The breakfast is standard diner breakfast fare, with eggs, bacon, toast, etc. Diner coffee– a bit weak. The bread served with lunch and dinner here is to die for. Sweet crusty cornbread and a white cakebread with butter dots in it come to the table and hug your insides, reminding you that you’re in the South, and you better enjoy that chicken fried steak like a grandma made it. Vinyl tablecloths, diner counter with diner seats, and one aisle of seats make it a very dinery diner. The dineriest! Come check them out– they may have a short wait, but tables turn over very quickly. Also available for delivery on .

Pretty average breakfast. A little expensive but I’m sure they have expensive rent. Biscuits were excellent and the cheese grits were good but they have super cheap not good butter and jelly to put on them. Western omelette was a joke and the«hash browns» were cold home style and not good really. Service was good today but can be marginal. Not the worst food but nothing to write home about. It’s no Pancake Shop.

Reuben was good — they serve it on rye(without asking — that was a good sign) — but not like the way I really liked it — sandwich filled with thick red corned beef/sauerkraut — these are kind of thin. But this is not a deli… The food came out quickly & hot — the service was friendly — prices were reasonable. It is a small restaurant — we got there a little early for lunch — we we left, it was filling up.

One of the best diners I have ever visited. A true diner. Had breakfast here pretty early on a Monday and let me tell you it was greeeaaaat! I passed this place a few times but thought I’d make the jump today and try it since I love good diners privately owned. Very pleasant surprise! Friendly servers, cooks, etc., EVERYONE was nice! I sat at the counter and the Cook took my order and then I noticed a lady to the left behind the counter bringing in these biscuits in a tin pie pan. Four biscuits to a plate. So I ordered my over medium eggs and two of those biscuits just out of the oven. I’ve never described biscuits as «melt in your mouth.» etc., but they were that and more; and they were huge!(Can you tell I loved this place)? Anyway, all food was hot and cooled just right. And the biscuits? — Here I go again — Delicious, soft centers, warm, . The cook suggested putting a little honey on one but I was already full so he gave me a small cup of honey to try later… well, later never came. The honey really was the crown to the thing. Anyway kids. If you’re in Germantown or maybe a couple hundred miles in the vicinity or state? It’s worth the trip.

Honestly not the greatest. Cute little place. Waitress too busy bustling around to give proper attention. Needed to ask for coffee refill — order was incorrect. Food was not the greatest. Could have made something at home much better. Sorry.

Are you looking for some good home cooking, the kind your grandma made for Sunday Dinner? Do you like good, scratch-made dishes and good serving folk? Right in the heart of Germantown? Well, you need to check out West St. Diner. My wife and I have eaten at West St. Diner for several years now and have always had great food. The head waitress has been serving her regulars and everyone else for 16 years because she loves her customers as much as she loves what she does. They’ve even had the same head chef for the 25 years the doors have been open. I’ve had many of the dishes, and can’t pick a favorite — because they’re all good. You need to get some good scratch-made food and decide for yourself which is your favorite.

I eat here about twice a month. This is a true diner. Please go in with those expectations and you won’t be disappointed. I enjoy their grits and bacon. If ordered scrabbled, the eggs tend to be overcooked… but I know and expect it It’s a little bit of nostalgia and reminds me of Mel’s Diner(eek…showing me age)

I was really impressed with this place. I admit, I’m a huge fan of Perkins omelettes and it feels like nothing will ever be quite as good as theirs, but this was just as tasty for me. The first time I came I got the Western Omelette with hash browns and biscuits. It was flatter than I’ve had at other places, but no less tasty. The cheesegrits were ok for a few bites but I just wasn’t fond of them.(I’d told them I’d never tried them and they kindly gave me a free sample). I’m not really that fond of cheese nor grits, so I wasn’t surprised when I discovered the combination did not do it for me. I also tried their home-made sourdough biscuits and enjoyed what I did eat(I got full on the rest of it and didn’t finish them). In general, the food tastes a little more«real» in that they didn’t seem like they came from a factory and the ingredients were fresh, not bough pre-packaged from the store. I came back with some friends and was actually a little disappointed. I loved the omelette I got before but there isn’t a lot of variety here, so there’s not a lot of room to experiment. There are a few other options for omelettes but they’re pretty plain. You can add what you want from a choice of ham, peppers, onions, cheese, and mushrooms. But adding all that I want basically turns it into a Western Omelette. I got the Reuben the second time and it was good but I think I’ll stick with coming here when I’m craving omelettes. Liked: — Biscuits — Hash Browns — Reuben — Western Omelette Didn’t like: — Cheese Grits

Lovely hidden treasure.. cozy lil spot that packs a big punch. The food is good and the staff very friendly. The prices are really reasonable too. Great alternative to the over priced, mundane chain restaurants. Check it out for yourself. Would definitely be a regular spot.

The food here is exceptionally disappointing. I had a BOGO coupon for this place and still felt ripped off. Portions were small, food was awful, ambiance was dirty and dated, and left me wishing I had gone to some fast food place and getting drive thru breakfast. The only redeeming factor here was that our server wasn’t as terrible as the food. Memphis has far too many good places for one to waste their time, money, and appetite here.

I have been here a few times and it is not a quality food place. The meat and 3 meals are all canned products and or frozen meat patties. Maybe the only thing that was cooked was the corn bread, but even that was not great. I would not waste money there anymore — too many better places to go to in the area.

The food here is mediocre. I’ve given it a few tries and have been disappointed each try. The staff is nice and friendly; however, the food falls short. The diner is charming and could be a hot spot if the food improved.

The meat and veggies are pretty good and the portions are sizable, although you pay for it. It was over $ 11 with tax for one meat, 2 veggies and a water. The turnip greens are fantastic as well as the mashed potatoes and gravy. The chicken and dumplins were sub-par and the cranberry sauce was right out of a can. The last few times I’ve been I’ve had very slow service and the same waitress who doesn’t really seem to care. I won’t be going back any time soon. If the service was good at all I would have provided a higher rating.

My favorite Germantown, TN greasy spoon. This restaurant is a diner… nothing more and nothing less. Good plate lunches everyday and the menu varies Monday– Friday for plate lunches. They also serve breakfast all day for you bacon lovers. I really enjoy the chopped sirloin steak with grilled onions, italian spinach, and any of their veggies. The breakfast options are awesome and the blueberry pancakes rock! Also any of their homemade pies and banana pudding… yum!!! The staff and cooks are all very friendly and the prices are reasonable. I have been here many times and will go back. Give it a try! Oh yeah… try the CHEESEBURGER, it may be one of the best in the city!
