I’ve never had a problem with Flats in the past, but tonight is a nightmare. There are two beleaguered employees attempting to stand against a tide of orders. I have been standing at the counter(the staff is not handing out their typical buzzers) here for 30 minutes waiting for food. People who were waiting when I ordered have still not received their food. The orders being put into the window are entirely wrong. The orders being offered to customers are entirely wrong. Again, none of this is the staff’s fault entirely. They deserve to be treated with a bit more respect by their management. Perhaps the Altland House should put some effort into staffing this restaurant on a Friday night during the holiday shopping season in a pedestrian district. I’ve been a loyal Flats customer, and the Altland House has always intrigued me though we haven’t made the ride out to try it yet. If this is how management staffs all their establishments there’s really no reason to visit any of them. At least I saved the trip out Route 30.

Great food, but not a lot on the menu contained flatbread??? Odd but the food was seriously awesome and the dining room is nice and quiet and looks out to the street for people watching. We had great service there as well. Bringing my vegetarian sister next time she comes to town, it’s hard to find places she has multiple vegetarian menu options!

The pizza was solid, but the salad and décor were eh.

4.5, came in 8 min before close unknowingly, but they almosted insisted that we stay. Nothing groundbreaking, but a very broad menu and everything from the burrito, quesadilla, and chicken wrap were all very good.

Flats is an excellent place. The people working here are always really friendly and polite and the food is great, however I wish the menu changed sometimes because I eat here very frequently. I think they realized that too because they have been featuring great new specials. They are polite and loyal to their regular customers and offer a program where if you eat here a certain number of times you get a meal for free. Try the tomato bisque soup.

We catered our bridal party lunch through Flats/Altland House. It was the only place in town that could accommodate our party’s dietary needs, due to Celiac Disease and pregnancy(no deli meats). Nicole, our catering contact, was very nice and responsive. The food was good — the GF wraps tasted like regular wraps. The only odd thing was that they charged for plasticware and plates for delivery orders.

Turkey wrap was good. Meat was fresh. Thai chicken pizza was ok, a little bland. Homemade chips were outstanding. I recommend the loaded chips!

Stopped in with the family for lunch on a Tuesday while visiting Gettysburg College. We had read about it on Unilocal before our trip so my son and I were looking forward to it. The shop was not hard to find — just look for the theater on Carlisle Street near the traffic circle. Parking meters are $.25 per 15 minutes so bring quarters. There is free parking around but it is hard to find. We were not disappointed with the food or service at all! Although there is a «Pick up» sign at the end of the counter, it wasn’t crowded so the young man brought our orders directly to our table. The buffalo Chicken flatbread pizza and Chicken Parm Po Boy(served with tasty house chips) were very good — the chicken was melt in your mouth perfect. I thought I ordered the veggie burrito that Savvy S’ review said was ‘scrumptious’ but actually received the vegetable wrap. I didn’t realize it until I started eating but was absolutely delighted with it! It came with no sides but it was all I could to finish it. I’m not usually the vegetarian type but the guacamole and feta cheese were really a great combination with the quinoa. I wish I had thought of asking if they had whole wheat wraps. I’m curious to try other menu items so I will be sure to stop in on my next visit to Gettysburg!

Delicious food and great conversation with the manager on duty. We stumbled across this place hidden behind dark windows in the Majestic Theater. We thought it was closed! The pizzas were tasty, though pricey– margaritas and classic, about $ 8 per. The veggie burrito was scrumptious, filled with quinoa. The flavorful guacamole tied it all together and is a must. Had a nice talk with the manager about how people easily miss the place. As I said, we thought it was closed despite the open flag hanging. College students bring the place to life, he said. This was a nice quiet meal for our tired family… much more appropriate than the super noisy pub up the street on the corner. Ceck it out and spread the word.

So friendly and nice! Can’t beat the customer service. My turkey avocado wrap was good, though the whole wheat wrap had a lot of flour on it, which made it messy. No real complaints, though. Is definitely come here again.

Went just the other day for a wrap and they were very accommodating with my food allergy. Why I’m writing this review though is because I left my wallet on the counter and had the manager(and by extension those who were working in the shop at the time) return it to me the next day. Very honest people. While I’m no food critic, I do know nice people when I come across them. You’ll be in good company at Flats.

I really like the employees at Flats. My friend and I were in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania for the night, and we wanted to learn more about the town, so we took our tourism dollars here. This way, we can have the luxury of bombarding the local high school girls with questions, such as «What were your moves the last three nights?», «Why is this town Republican if Abraham Lincoln freed the slaves here?», and«What do you do for fun besides cheefing?» Gettysburg is a fascinating town to an outsider like me, but Gettysburg is a lame town for those who live there. All the high school kids work in the square, which is a concentration of restaurants and shops that cater to the sorostitutes and bros of Gettysburg College. The inside of Flats, constructed in 2009, is quite new. The bathrooms are spacious, and the friends of the employees who come in for free iced tea are cute in their little volleyball shorts. One girl had a Cal shirt on, and I immediately thought that I can strike up a conversation about the UC Mens Octet, but it turns out that the shirt referenced the California University of Pennsylvania. The food is okay. My friend ordered a pizza, and he thought it was meh. I customized a burrito since the hummus burrito didn’t sound appetizing, and I thought it was meh. For 8 dollars, I would have been better off buying Juicy J’s debut album, Chronicles of the Juice Man. Inside my burrito were canned refried beans, white rice, lettuce, and roasted vegetables. None of these ingredients tasted particularly fresh. I like how Flats exhibits all of their canned goods at which customers can be aghast. Nonetheless, the preponderance of knowledge that we gathered inside the empty restaurant justifies our meal here.

After passing by this often, decided to try this today lured by the fresh squeezed lemonade and orangeade. The menu items sound delicious, but we were shocked by the sticker price for what turned out to be so-so sandwiches. It was $ 10 per person to order each a meal and a drink. Note only the sandwiches come with a side of chips. The pizza would have been big enough to share, but the other menu items are standard sandwich sizes. The flatbread the food is served on is good, but not worth the price.

Clear, simple menu and beautiful décor. Good noise level. Shares bathrooms with the theatre and they’re absolutely gorgeous. Condiments and utensils are tucked behind an alcove so they’re a bit hard to find. Food came out incredibly quickly. I tried a quesadilla(it was alright… not as flavorful as I had hoped) and the thai chicken pizza(somebody had a heavy hand with the sweet and spicy sauce, ew).

At Flats in Gettysburg(the former Mamie’s Restaurant in the Majestic Theater building), the French Dip sandwich was described as «smoked brisket and Swiss cheese on ciabatta served with au jus.» Since I love the French Dip sandwich at Café Saint Armand’s(which just up the street from Flats), I decided to make a taste comparison. In this competition, Café Saint Armand’s is the clear winner. Flat’s sandwich lacked that delicious horseradish sauce that comes with the competitor’s version, and the ciabatta bread, while fresh and chewy, can’t hold a candle to crusty French bread. Why I gave Flats just two stars is because the au jus wasn’t very good … more like a beef bouillon cube dissolved in hot water than real pan drippings from a roast. With a Coke, my bill came to $ 9.54. That’s pricey for something unexceptional. I’ll try Flats at least one more time, but I’ll go with one of their signature salads or a pizza next time.
