Our first stop when we got into town for a long weekend golf trip. Biggest concern as you walk into the front door is that the place is a bit of a mess. Odd layout, very few tables in the room with the bar, and a very sparse crowd for a Friday evening. I was however, impressed by their craft beer list even though when I asked if they had any specials I received a very sharp«NO.» Well, I asked because you had a Happy hour sign saying 5−7PM. We decided to only have a couple of beers and potato skins, which were certainly big… And tasted OK. Put some work into the facility would be my biggest suggestion.

I just moved to Gettysburg and live less than a mile from Sharpshooters. We decided to check out there Wed wing night(50cent wings). I noticed all these horrible reviews on Unilocal and then remembered the South Park episode that accurately displayed the typical active Unilocaler. Basically self appointed«foodie» who has delusions of grandeur. Anyway, we were seated immediately at a booth near the door. The waitress was quick to take our order and did a great job of beer and food recommendations. They have a massive craft beer list. The wings came out quickly. They were crisp and a good size. I’m usually a traditional buffalo sauce guy, but the house special«combo sauce» won me over. It was great. These are were the best wings I’ve had in awhile. Crispy, large, not drowned in the sauce. My gf had the avocado and bean wrap which was also pretty great. I’m very glad I’ve learned not to take Unilocal seriously and visited Sharpshooters anyway. Tip: check out the attached 6-pack shop. You can mix and match all the beers they carry on the menu. It came out to $ 12 and change for beers that would cost 5 – 6 bucks a piece in most bars.

Had a dinner reservation at 8 o’clock on a Saturday night. Didn’t seem terribly busy because there were open tables. Although the waitress was pleasant, the first thing she said was that it would be at least an hour for any sort of hot food, appetizer, or entrée. She told us she could make us a salad if need be. We chose not to stay and left. Won’t try that again.

I don’t understand how this place is in business. Friday evening at 5:30, we pull in for dinner parking lot empty. We go inside. 2 people at the bar. We ask to sit outside because the weather is nice. We sit outside by a window that leads inside. The deck is filthy! Floor cluttered with dust, leaves, food and lots of dirt. What a broom would have done for this place! The window that we sat beside was filthy. Dust, cobwebs and spiders. Dead flies on the window bottom. It was so bad. We ordered an app and decided not to stay. So we just paid and left. Will never recommend and will never go back.

Second visit here… First one was so-so…thought we’d try it one more time… won’t be back for a third. Fish tacos consisted of one small piece of fish, fried hard(over cooked) that barely filled one side of the tortilla. Tortilla should have been warmed. Terrible service as well. Not many customers but the way the wait staff was rushing around, you would have thought it was full.

What a disappointment, was so hoping to have a few drinks and a good meal in a nice atmosphere. None of which happened! It was early just about 5 pm, the bar was practically empty. The bartender greeted us and took our drink order, stella cidre’, i received beer. We ordered appetizers, steamed clams and mussels marina, 15 minutes later we were told that they didn’t have any clams, within 2 mins we were told they now have clams. The apps finally arrived after another 15. Well the quality was terrible, I had 3 unopened clams and 2 unopened mussels! I asked for another stella, the bartender took my glass and proceeded to pour me another in the same glass. That was enough screw ups. We asked for our check and explained about the uncooked food. We received 50% Off… Never Going Back

My SO and I went for breakfast. The place was pretty empty. Breakfast was delicious. I recommend getting the sausage and egg quesadilla. Service was prompt and consistent. I would definitely come back.

Went for breakfast. Very good portions for a great price. Food was excellent as well as the mimosas and bloody Marrys for 2 bucks. Don’t miss this place

We were hoping for a good meal and fun atmosphere however neither happened. The food, fish tacos(probably not the best choice in retrospect) were mediocre at best. The fish was battered but too much and over cooked. The chipotle sauce was strangely bland. The salad was slightly better. And the waitress was way too young to be calling me ‘hon’. It’s not a diner. We won’t be going back.

Park Ranger recommended the Grill. Excellent service by Ted and the food was very tasty. Burger cooked to a perfect medium and served on not your usual hamburger bun which added to the taste of the burger. Wife had the portabella burger which also very good. Same bun used for this sandwich. Crispy French fries topped off the meal. Would go back again.

Sharpshooters is a great little place to eat. They have a great breakfast which they serve all day(make sure to ask about it)! The restaurant is behind the Inn at Herrs Ridge and sits just off the NPS battlefield. The service can be slow but usually is friendly.

To start the only reason they got two stars was because the food wasn’t horrible. Otherwise a terrible experience especially considering we were celebrating a birthday. From a flat beer to a terrible careless attitude from the bartender, this place had me running for the hills. Probably would’ve gotten better service during the battle of Gettysburg

Was passing by for a quick stop and didn’t end up leaving until 1 ½ later. The place was empty and there were plenty of servers yet our food took a long time to come. The waitress did not check on us until our food was out. Her name is Bonnie. I gave them a two because the food was pretty good.

Great location out away from the fray of the Gettysburg crowd. We stopped for a great burger and cold beer conveniently located across the street from the«Day One» battlefield areas of Herr’s and McPherson’s Ridges at the start of our battlefield touring. The tavern is in the old barn of Herr’s Tavern, a historical Civil War building — pretty cool!

I saw a sign for the excellent beer selection so I went in. The place was only about 10% occupied during my visit and there were plenty of servers working, but the service was still horrible. It seemed like maybe they had just gotten over some mad rush or something. Anyway, it took forever to even get a glass of water; much longer for a beer. A skilled, conscientious server finally took care of me and the rest of my visit and the food was actually pretty good. I wish I had gotten the nice girl’s name that finally made it all happen. She should get half the pay of the others. Anyway, food was probably a 4; beer selection was a 4+; atmosphere(except the noisy servers) was a 4; my overall service was a 1.

Went here on a Friday night since they have live music and drink specials. The band Audacity was fantastic! However, the food was just ok. I ordered the prime burger. My boyfriend ordered the chicken parm with spaghetti and our friends split an order on mozzarella sticks. We waited over an hour for our food and its just luke warm when it got to our table. The place wasn’t even that busy. The food was overpriced for what we got. Not worth the wait. However, we did order the brownie sundae for 2 which was delicious. That helped make up for the food. We plan to go back to see the band, but probably won’t order dinner again. The bar however was good. The staff was really friendly and the drink prices weren’t bad, which is why i give this place 3 stars. Good bar to hang out at, not the best place for dinner.

Sharpshooters has decent food, good service and varying specials throughout the week. The local, relaxed atmosphere is a nice break from the crowded bars in town.

Average atmosphere and pub food. Nachos were boring, buffalo wings were good but the sauce wasn’t very spicy.

Went there for dinner on a Thursday night. This place is more a bar and maybe lunch place. It wasn’t busy. Food was mediocre — salmon was WAY overcooked, crab cakes were just OK. Salads were fresh. Service good. Wine list limited to a few by-the-glass selections. In short, if I ever go to Gettysburg again, I might try it for lunch, but not dinner.

Nice atmosphere in old Pennsylvania Barn behind Herr Tavern. Relaxed with menu mostly of burgers and chicken dishes. Great Place for lunch and well priced.
