Chose to eat here on Xmas day. Just beat the rush and had double helpings of the turkey, excellent, all. Filled up on the turkey and trimmings and never even had the prime rib or crab which was huge. Too full and very satisfied a way beyond, great meal. Thanks to the chefs and servers.

I made the mistake of going to the River Rock Casino on Christmas for the buffet. I was with a party of 5 and our waiter, Marc, was very attentive. I was impressed with him, as were the other members of my party. But he was the only really good part of the experience. The place was filled with cigarette smoke, and there was very little ventilation in the restaurant, the Quail Run Buffet. The smoke kept coming into the restaurant. I asked them to turn up the air. They turned it up for a few minutes, and I felt better. Then they turned it back down again. *cough* I have bronchitis and I’m allergic to cigarette smoke. I asked twice more, but they wouldn’t turn it up again. So I spent most of dinner coughing. I don’t blame the restaurant for the smoke, but I do blame them for refusing to ventilate the place properly. The restaurant is supposed to be a non-smoking area, and all of that smoke kept coming in. But instead of turning up the air and keeping it on as I had requested, I guess somebody was more worried about their power bill than making the patrons sick. They might also want to invest in closing the damn doors to keep the smoke out! I didn’t actually notice if there were doors, but I did notice that the front of the place is completely open. On the right side, the cashier takes your money. On the left side, people come in for their tables once they are paged. Why not have doors on both sides? People could open the door to go in and be rung up, once it is their turn. And once someone is paged, they could open a door instead of going into an open hall that is allowing all of that cigarette smoke into the restaurant. For starters, the cost was pretty excessive — $ 25 per person. Call me a traditionalist, but I was in the mood for turkey, gravy, mashed potatoes. The mashed potatoes and gravy were good, but the turkey breast I got was exceedingly dry. And I tried a couple of different batches. They are overcooking it. The corn was okay, no complaints there. They had some breakfast food, which I thought was kind of cool. I tried the bacon, but they ran out of the sausage. The bacon seemed really salty, like, I dunno, more so than usual… I tried the orange ham. It was awful, inedible. I’m not much of a Prime Rib eater, but I decided to give it a try. There were two sides to the Prime Rib. There was a fatty, rarer side and a lean more well done side. I like lean meats, so I decided to try the latter. It wasn’t good. I can’t comment on the rare stuff, since I didn’t try it, but I didn’t feel that the Prime Rib was well-spiced. It just didn’t have a good taste. Maybe it was over-spiced, and that was the problem. I don’t eat it enough that I could figure out what was wrong with it. One good thing is that soda and juice are included with the meal. Wine is extra. I got orange juice, but it tasted a little odd, kind of like Sunny D. The dessert section was a travesty. The baked cookies were really hard, and didn’t have a good taste. The pumpkin pie was the worst I’ve ever tasted. The chocolate cake was inedible. One of my dinner companions tried it, and he didn’t want it, either. He didn’t like his cherry pie or the cookies. The only good thing in the dessert section was the soft serve with the ice cream cones and the fixings like gummy bears. They should keep that, scratch the rest, and start over.

I love this place. The people are friendly and the food is pretty good. I use my players card to get better deals. The salad bar is my favorite part. They have all you could want. The Asian section is really tasty and they usually have a baked potato bar that rocks. The dessert station has so many choices and great soft serve ice cream. Even if you are not a gambler, it is worth a try.

USEDGAMBLINGWINNINGSFORLUNCHBUFFET After winning a little over $ 300 earlier in the day on the slots at River Rock I decided to reward myself for lunch. Being a River Rock card member I get a discount off from lunch; I only paid less than $ 9. The buffet here is decent. When I had lunch I want sure if the servings were for lunch or brunch because there were scrambled eggs, sausages, and waffles. Nothing really stands out in terms of unique food items except for the deep fried mozzarella sticks. Where can you find deep fried mozzarella sticks at a buffet? The stuffed crêpe was delightful. The BBQ chicken was baked yet very moist. The coleslaw was fresh. As I mentioned this buffet doesn’t stand out like must casino buffets. Why should I complain when I won over $ 300 and paid less than $ 9 for a buffet?

Pretty decent buffet for lunch $ 9.99 and $ 12.99 for dinner(prices may vary per day so check the website). We liked the cooked kale, squash, fried chicken, hot wings, Asian food choices, salad and ice cream. They bring you drinks and don’t rush you out the door. Like that.

Vegetarian reviewer here. We have eaten here twice in the past five years, when in the Geyserville area. Since we are veg-heads, we look for price and variety of food selection when choosing a dining experience. The buffet at any casino is always a draw for us. The price here is right, $ 9.99 per person. The outstanding feature of the restaurant is the view off the outside patio, which gives and extraordinary view over the Alexander Valley. The service was very good. The facility was clean and, thank god, smoke free. I agree with several other reviews in noting that the food spread is not attractively laid out. At first, this was a turn-off visually. However, since eating food, not viewing food, is the principal motivation for dining out, I have to say that this place provides some very tasty items. Salads very good, veg entrees were varied enough, desserts were satisfactory. I have eaten at much better casino buffets(the Bellagio in Vegas) and much worse buffets(Sweet Tomatoes in Pleasant Hill), and Quail Run at River Rock Casino is really pretty good. We have been there twice and would not hesitate to go again when in the area.

food is not that good, and not enough for select, desire is the worst.

I am not a «foodie» so I am only someone who eats where it is available. Whenever I am at River Rock I have to choose whether to stay and eat at the restaurant or leave and eat somewhere closer to home. It ends up 50 – 50. The buffet is a choice and I find it satisfactory. We are not talking gourmet here. River Rock provides an excellent choice of a variety of dishes. I think that the price has increased but it is your choice whether it is worth it. I’m just glad to have the choice.

Food is fairly good, and service OK but the restaurant is just a draw so they can get you to gamble — whatever turns you on, I guess.

In all fairness, we did not eat here this time, but I did dine here the last time I was here when I won at black jack. The casino workers were nice enough to allow us to do a walk-thru last Sunday before we decided against dining here. The instant my dad saw it, he hated it. I myself am a lot more open minded and accomodating, but even I have to say that it was easily the saddest and most dismal casino buffet I have seen in a long time. It made the cheap buffets in old Vegas look like a feast. The food at the other restaurant in the bar of the casino appeared to be way better, although considerably more expensive. Come on, River Rock… I can see how you’re trying to improve things, but if you’re truly going to be a contender, you really need to step up and make more of an effort than this pathetic excuse for a buffet. Granted the buffet for lunch or dinner was only $ 13.50, but wow, short of roast beef, there was almost nothing there. Talk about a feeble, almost laughable selection of offerings… I know it ain’t Vegas, but jeez, this place actually makes Hometown Buffet look good. It’s too bad because with the exception of the buffet, I’ve been seeing this place improve in so many ways over the years. Perhaps things will change if they ever get that new monster hotel built. In the meantime, thanks, but no thanks.

Great Buffet at River Rock Casino! They have a seafood & prime rib buffet on Friday night! MMMMMMMM! Who could not love all you can eat seafood and prime rib! Also on Saturday nights is the Baron of Beef! Its amazingly tender beef sliced right off the bone! You can’t go wrong! The lunch buffet is also good with multiple hot and cold food items to choose from and lots of desserts!

The buffet is a part of the restaurant and set off to the side. Pretty small, but they do offer quality food. Their baron of Kobe beef was alright, but slightly medium-well and a little tough. Their pineapple spareribs were quite good and tender. The baked potato bar was good, and the option of blue cheese is a plus. Service was good and there was enough food despite the small selection.

The quail run has been my guilty pleasure for some time. 2x a year I make it there. The rating might be high for some people but is hard not to rate it high when you consider the price, the quality and the view. is not a 5 star restaurant but is a fun place to end up after gambling 20 dollars in the penny machine for an hour. I would of chosen 3 and ½ stars if I could have. I have to start with one thing: The view receives 5 stars, located on top of a mountain, overlooking the Alexander valley, sunsets are just glorious. Is a great place for a cup of coffee and dessert and also they have food a la carte. This review is for the Buffet. The food was actually very very good, but this was mothers day brunch, so I am sure they went the extra mile to pamper all the mums. The Buffet had so much to select, I skipped the fresh greens and fruits, and went right for the Waldorf salad and the ambrosia. The Waldorf was nice and fresh with crispy apples and celery, light dressing and walnuts. is was Sunday after church type of salad. The Ambrosia salad was addictive, mini marshmallows fresh coconut, there were fresh ripe peaches in this salad, some canned fruit was in it too I am sure, but here were chunks of fresh stuff, I wonder if they always make it like this. then I went for the fried prawns, some baron of beef and roasted veggies. The fried prawns were surprisingly yummy, very meaty, not the usual buffet type. Sweet and flavorful, I think they were coated with panko. The beef was dry and not much taste was detected. The veggies were really really good, specially the cauliflower, roasting it made it sweet and deepened the flavors. My friend tried the salmon and she said it was fresh and moist and flaky. They also had eggs Benedict, ham, peel and eat shrimp, mashed potatoes and much more, but a boy can only eat so much. For dessert I tried their little chocolate cups with pudding and strawberries. Also some more ambrosia. and a cup of coffee. all of it was yummy. I did not look at the wine list. All in all, it was a buffet, it was good quality, the view was amazing, My friend, who we were taking out for mothers day, won over 140 dollars in the 2 penny machine(she got 3 chickens on a row on the screen) so she was happy. The price for this special brunch was 19 dollars per person, coffee soda and tea included, but then we got 2×1 passes from the Hyatt hotel lobby so that made it 10 dollars per person. That made it a very good value type meal.
