One of the best steakhouse meals I have ever had! I should have finished this review sooner(I was there 4 months ago) so I could remember more details, but I’ll try to remember what we had in the meantime. For appetizer, cheesesteak spring rolls and buffalo shrimp, both great. I also had the chophouse salad and filet bernaise but I just can’t remember what my husband had for dinner. Our service was excellent all across the board.

Just okay food, especially for the price. The tuna tartare was more avocado than tuna. The lamb I ordered medium rare was served medium. The side of mushrooms, while a great variety, was very salty. My wife ordered the scallops, which were great but the summer squash was also over salted. The crème brûlée was standard.

This was an excellent steakhouse experience. We dined on New Years Eve, and the restaurant was at capacity. You could not tell by the great customer service and the speed of the food coming out of the kitchen. My steak was cooked perfectly and the drinks were good and strong. As with traditional steakhouses, the sides are a la carte, be prepared to take a box home. This restaurant also offers complementary valet.

This place is definitely full service! Valet parking, coat check, great wait staff, etc. Our waiter was amazing, always there when we needed him, but not overbearing, very knowledgeable and accommodating. The menu has a lot to offer and also has a very upscale wine list. The drinks were excellent, and not watered down at all. The food was also excellent, cooked to perfection. Dessert was decent, nothing wow, but good none the less. The atmosphere was wonderful, very cozy and relaxed, yet upscale. The pricing was a bit high, but well worth it. I would definitely recommend this place to others. Had a great time here, and will be back in the near future.

Came here to celebrate my 5th anniversary and was very impressed with the atmosphere and food. Appetizer: ordered the salmon nachos and tuna tarte, both of which were full of great flavors and an interesting choice of carb pairing. Entrée: ordered the classic 8oz filet mignon which was delicious and well seasoned on its own, I didn’t even use the sauce on the side. My boyfriend had the kona encrusted sirloin which was okay — I didn’t particularly enjoy the sweetness of the flavor(although to be fair I’m not a huge fan of sweetness in entrees in general). We had a side of brussel sprouts which were beautifully roasted and seasoned. Dessert: finally we finished the meal off with the crème brûlée which was SOO amazing. I was blown away by the creaminess and the fact that it was the perfect amount of sweetness. The texture of the hard caramel paired with the creaminess of the custard was incredible. Overall the food deserved 5 stars. But the service was lacking — we spent a lot of the night waiting around for our waitress when we needed something. After asking for what we needed, we spent a lot of time waiting for her to come back(when we needed to order our food, get the check, etc.) I expected that a higher end restaurant like this one would provide stellar service, So I had to give this overall experience 4 stars for that reason.

Our entrees came out the middle of our appetizers. The steak was placed on the table and we didn’t have steak knives. At that point out drinks were dry. We all ordered the filet mignon Oscar style. The crabmeat was cold as was the creamed spinach. This was my second time here the first time everything was perfect tonight maybe they just had a bad night

8 oz. filet was not as tasty nor as tender as it should have been. The prime rib(Sunday special) was a good piece of meat, not great. The view of the lake is wonderful. The service was excellent. The lobster bisque soup was excellent, but they give too large a bowl. I had expected more for these prices. If you want quiet, ask to be seated away from the bar. We were near the bar and it was quite noisy.

The Chop house does it right. The Filet is tender, done to perfection and delicious! The décor is beautiful, the service is excellent. Even the valet guys were awesome! Prices are fair and the wine selection is very good. We will be back!

This was our first time here. I ordered the balsamic fig margarita, which was one of their signature drinks & very good. Had the cheesesteak egg rolls for an app. I thought they were ok, not something I would order again. I ordered the 8oz filet with Kona rub & cognac sauce, it was cooked perfectly & was very good. Sides are ordered separately, for the table we had the garlic mashed potatoes which I found to be a bit gummy. The asparagus with hollandaise, which were good, but my favorite was the roasted brussel sprouts with crispy pancetta. I ate half the bowl. Very nice place, I would definitely go back

Since my fiancé loves steakhouses, I can say we have gone to our share of places. From chains to your local steakhouses– all which offer their own touch to a great cut. We came to the chophouse after such high praises and for a friends birthday. Our waiter was extremely nice, went out of the way to explain the menu and go over the specials and make recommendations. We usually order the same thing, lobster bisque, crab cakes, lamb chops, filet, mashed potatoes, and a veggie. We went for everything here except the crab cakes, they just didn’t catch our eye on the menu. The lobster bisque was pretty mediocre, it was just a cream base really. No lobster chunks, no seafood flavor, it was pretty disappointing. Lamb chops were decent, cooked as I asked but the cut itself just wasn’t delicious. It lacked something! The steak was also the same way, good but not anything to brag out. I will say the sides were pretty good. All in all, with Philly being so close to the chophouse, I would rather head into the city for a better steakhouse experience.

Ok… it’s a very nice place, one star for the ambience and the other star for the service however very disappointing, food is waaaaaaay over priced and it just missed a lot… like the Roasted Beet salad it was good but the beets, walnuts or dressing could have had some sweet or tangy some sas. The Steak was ok but It didn’t work for me with the steak sauce… with the food it was just a lot of misses. The Sea Bass was a good idea but it reminded me of frozen fish. I think if I want to spend that kind of dough for steak etc. I will go to Ruth Chris and when I don’t but I want a good meal I will go to Longhorne. And the portions for the appetizers were really small for the price

My husband and I decided to dine at The Chophouse for our 7th wedding anniversary. I’ve only heard great reviews! I would say it lived up to it’s reputation. We requested a seat by the lake to make our celebration more enjoyable. They were more than happy to accommodate! We were greeted by our waiter and he immediately wished us a happy anniversary. The hostess must have passed on the info. He was a good waiter. A little slow getting us our beverages… probably waited 15 mins for 2 sodas. That was one of the downsides… a little slow in service. I started with the French onion soup. Wow… it’s huge! I really enjoyed the soup. However, it needed salt and none of the tables had salt but I didn’t want to ask or insult. For my entrée, I ordered the Roasted Giannone chicken. AMAZING! Hands down the best chicken dish I have ever eaten! It was moist, tender and so flavorful! It came with roasted fingerling potatoes and carrots. The sides were just as delicious! Wow! My husband ordered the 8oz filet mignon and ½ portion of the lobster and crab Mac and cheese. His was delicious as well… Cooked to perfection! For dessert, we ordered the chocolate lava cake. The waiter said it would take about 15 mins to make. While we waited, he had a crème brûlée sent to us for a special anniversary dessert. That was really thoughtful! I can honestly say one of the best anniversary dinners ever!

I had my first visit for my boyfriend’s birthday. I hate trying to sneak a hint to the waiter so when I made the reservation I noted we would love a table by the window for a 30th birthday. Sure enough, they remembered and brought him his dessert with a candle. Everyone from the moment you walk in is super friendly and the inside is immaculately clean! The ambiance is calming and inanimate. I can not wait to return and try sitting on the deck next time. This place is worth the extra money spent !

This is our 2nd visit to the Chop House. The first visit was for a friends wedding reception. My wife brought me here to celebrate my birthday. Im glad she brought me here! The ambiance is really nice. There are booths and tables. In the main part of the restaurant. There is a bar on the other side of main area. It looks like a nice happy hour spot if you are in the mood for just drinks. There is a section that is closer to the lake. You should specify If you want to sit closer to the lakefront view. The appetizer portions are big enough to share. My wife had the Salmon & Shrimp egg rolls, I had the Lobster Mac-n-cheese. Main course she had the Chilean Sea Bass and toasted Brussels Sprouts. Delicious!(The sprouts had a little too much char, but were good.) I had the 8 oz Filet Mignon, Mashed Sweet Potatoes Marscapone. Delicious! The rub on the steak was really good, its a house created rub, my filet melted in my mouth! It moved up high on my list of favorite filets that I have eaten over the years! For dessert we both had a slice of chocolate cake,(complimentary as a really nice birthday gesture.) The cake was perfect. It wasnt too sweet or too dense. (I was going to get the Belgian Chocolate Lava Cake. Our waiter gave the Chocolate Cake props, so we went with the cake instead.) We will definitely be dining here again! The staff and the managers are polite, detail oriented and care a lot about the customer experience! The dress code is dressy.

There’s a reason why a place so nice and so expensive would have such average reviews. The food and service does not equal the dollar signs. Although I went on a super busy day(Valentines Day), I did not expect to wait over an hour beyond the time of my reservation, nor did I expect my overpriced food to taste mediocre, nor did I expect the valet to allow a literal mound of snow into my car when pulling it up to the door, nor did I expect to sit in the bar area when I had made a reservation months in advance, nor did I expect every other girl to leave with a rose except my girlfriend. The only saving grace of the whole night was our server who did everything in her power to make up for all of the aforementioned. In sincere honesty, I would not recommend this place. I’ve actually been a few times before this, and while the experiences where nowhere near this drastic, it always ends the same way. I pay a lot of money and I leave unsatisfied.

This place does a ton of things right: The food — First of all, not a complaint in any way, but the menu is so tempting, you may want to consider your options in advance. How to decide with so many wonderful choices! Tuna tartare perfectly balanced tuna and avocado, decadently rich. Wedge Salad, wonderfully balanced, smokey bacon and bleu cheese. Filet, expertly aged, top quality beef, butter tender, impeccable! Chocolate Lava Cake, sublime. The one miss, and it was a bad one — the burger of all things. SO disappointing when something simple, for the unadventurous diner, gets too fancy by half. EVERY restaurant needs an item or two that’s going to appeal to someone with a limited palate, usually, a burger is a good option for this. An odd bacon jam and roasted tomatoes on brioche, not only disappointing, but in this case inedible. Although we sent it back,(didn’t care for a replacement) we were charged for it anyway, which was really strange! The room — beautifully appointed, remarkably spacious, and although it was far too hot to investigate, there was a large, glassed in deck area overlooking a lake, with what appeared to be a large fireplace. Come cooler weather, this looks like a must do. The service — tremendous, expertly straddling the line between always there when needed, but never hovering. Cocktails/wine/beer, wonderful! Even the silverware and table appointments were very well thought out. Maybe it was the excellent job otherwise all around that contrasted so greatly to the strange burger episode, but otherwise, this place knocked it out of the park.

If you’re celebrating something special or just want a reason to wear something fancy, Chophouse is your place. The service is impeccable and the drinks are something you’d get at a place where they call bartenders«mixologists» — only at Chophouse, they aren’t pretentious. They have an array of seafood options and of course, steak. The best part of our meal was seriously the steak. Tender, juicy, cooked perfectly. I wasn’t as impressed with the other items. The calamari was just okay and something in my meal(the tomatoes? garlic?) gave me a seriously awful aftertaste that I could not get rid of all night. Still, if you like country views and a nice slab of red meat, it’s worth the splurge.

This place is beautiful. Really nice! Spacious and classy with a chill vibe. Great views of the lake from the back/downstairs of the restaurant and an active bar area. And who doesn’t love a great bar? Nice place for an intimate dinner, cocktails, or a private party. The menu offers several steak choices however you’re going to have lots of other options here also. I was impressed by the number of seafood dishes on the menu, ranging from tuna to scallops to halibut to sea bass. Really, any kind of fish you can imagine(within reason, of course). We sampled the Buffalo Shrimp and the Filet Kona Tips. Really good! Other Unilocalers have commented on the quality of their cocktails and I can attest to that. They offer happy hour specials daily from 4:00PM — 7:00PM(weekends included). Definitely take advantage of this. My favorite cocktail is a vodka dirty martini with blue cheese stuffed olives, and they make a perfect one here. PERFECT! My date knew that I fancy that particular martini and that was part of the reason why he took me there(major points scored)! What’s even better is that he likes them also. This place needs more pictures on Unilocal.I will work on that…

Swanky. The misses and I went to The Chophouse for our Sunday Funday, during the South Jersey restaurant week. My initial perception of the restaurant is that its trying to be more upscale than it actually is, which isn’t actually a bad thing. As you pull into the lot, there is complimentary valet service, which is where all the Mercedes and Maseratis decided to park, but LITERALLY20 feet away is the regular parking lot, so we just decided to park ourselves. You walk in, and the interior is very nice, with a split level. We were led downstairs and sat with a nice view of the river(or lake). We were greeted immediately by our awesome server and went about ordering from the restaurant week menu. For apps, the mrs and I got the bacon wrapped scallops(yum) and the house made pretzels, which were actually TERRIBLE. Our server noticed that my wife was not thrilled with the pretzels and quickly brought her the Yellowfin Tuna tostadas, which were very tasty. Two caesar salads came next. I found them to be a little more vinegary as opposed to creamy, and lacking parmesan cheese, but the wife enjoyed hers just the same. Entrees were the petite filet for me, and the salmon for the wife. My filet was cooked PERFECTLY and came with whipped mash and mushrooms. I didn’t like that the steak had a little bit of a «pot roast» flavor to it, but it was still tasty and I cleaned my plate. The salmon got no complaints. For dessert, I got the bananas foster bread pudding, with bourbon sauce, which was DELICIOUS, and Mrs. C got the toasted coconut cake, that although I didn’t personally try, looked(and was confirmed to be) very dry and crumbly. Taste wise it was ok, but it didn’t wow. The meal was just ok, but it was the service and ambiance that earned The Chophouse an additional star. We were checked on constantly and our water glasses never ran dry. I could totally see us going back.

This place is awesome for happy hour. .the ambience is very nice and the service is good… The martini were descent… but the LQ was a bit cheap for my taste… I will come back for dinner. There was a wedding so we could not go and view the lake. I will need to definitely do that next time.
