Very delicious and fresh! We followed the masses to check this place out. I understand why the long line. Everything is super fresh. Our group has basic tacos, but my husband did try the guisada. The meat was a little tough, but the flavor was amazing. The tortillas are huge. If all you get is ages and bacon or potato and eggs, it may be too much tortilla. But the chorizo, egg, bacon, and cheese was filled to the max! Overall, pretty good breakfast tacos.

Been coming here for nearly 15 years. In fact we often plan our trips to Austin and the lake area around their opening schedule to insure that we can land some incredibly fresh and tasty tacos. Although«tacos» may be a misnomer, because these these things are the size of freight trains, more like an overstuffed burrito. Fresh tortillas hand made and cooked in front of you. Same with the ever replenished supply of interior stuffings, including nopales, chicharon, fajitas and an array of egg and breakfast options. Fresh beans al charro! Carne guisada and chicken chipotle are spicy and among my favorites. Can’t go wrong at $ 3-$ 4 each, a full meal in itself. This place can be busy, with a line to the door or even outside, but it moves fast. If you are coming through Giddings you simply must stop in.

The bikers and the local know a good thing. I was finally able to get in when the line wasn’t out of the door and learned, it would’ve been worth the wait. Hand-made tortillas, great smiles and service, big tacos — where each individual ingredient’s flavor popped with flavor. No mush here. Everything says homemade goodness.

We drove right past this place because there was not a sign. But we decided to go back because there was a line out the door. And it was the only restaurant in town with cars in the parking lot. Definitely worth waiting in line. We will make this place a pit stop on all future trips. The call em tacos but they are more like burritos. Be careful when ordering cause they are huge. The tortillas are fresh made minutes before you order.

I used to stop here on my way to work some days! I learned to call ahead when I was 30 minutes away because the line is typically long due to popularity. I don’t work down there anymore, which may be a good thing for me… Lol. Every now and then I’ll treat myself and stop here on my way to MD Anderson.

Great food! We stopped here going back home from the Hill Country. The tortillas are huge(they only have flour) so one order(around $ 3 – 4) will fill you up. I had the spicy chicken and it was saucy and hot. Hubby had the beef fajita and said it was tender and delicious. They had options for the little kiddos, bean and cheese taco and quesadilla. Salsas were good and homemade too. Oh, and they serve breakfast tacos all day!

Saw the reviews on here and decided to try it. Wow! The food just melts in your mouth! So glad we stopped and we will be back when we come back through Giddings.

Delicious, authentic tacos! Friendly, helpful staff. Definitely worth the stop! Be aware when ordering that they close at 2 pm, and the tacos are huge!

This is the kind of place that haunts you after you move away. I always stop by when I’m in town or passing through. Great food, unbeatable price. Totally worth waiting in line for 20 minutes. Personal favorites: chorizo, egg, cheese, and bacon taco; fajita gordita; ground beef and potato taco; been and cheese quesadilla Hint: if you have a large order, call it in before you get there to skip the line!

I found this place by mistake many years ago coming from Austin to Houston and now it has become a ritual that i have to drop in this place to eat. You will not be disappointed.

Great stop! More like burritos than tacos. Tasty home made tortillas. Brisket in gran green sauce is the best.

Food was excellent; service was a little slow or disorganized(there was only one person making/filling orders — both phone and walk-in and she must have had a lot of phone orders). The line was very long and slow. Also, it was a little unclear to me what you can request on a burrito/taco(e.g., avocado, salsa). I forget what all we had(three different burritos)… they were out of one of the ones we wanted; the ranchero was my least favorite, but my wife liked it ok. I think my favorite was the brisket in green sauce(?).

OMG! So incredibly good. We had the number 11 which is a beef burrito with a really really good red sauce. Fresh tortillas made to order. The only drawback was the 20 minute line to order. Not a fancy place for sure but… Oh so good food.

Best Tacos in Texas and that’s saying something. Fresh made tortillas. Brisket with verde sauce and Bisteque Ranchero are the best but they are spicy due to fresh serranos. Barbacoa or Carne Guisada are great mild options. Best Docino(bacon) around. And the prices — get full for $ 3 to $ 5

This place had all fresh hand made authentic mexican food. It is a small yellow building and the word we continued to use was quaint because that is just exactly what it is. Not only was the food good but the people there were very friendly, and im not suprised it is family owned and operated. Every tortilla they make is like a gift from god. We drove 30 minutes out of our way for this place and it was so worth it. Obviously there is a reason I rated it 5 stars.

This place is the JAM! I drove to Houston yesterday for a concert, so I surveyed a few friends for recommendations between Austin and Houston. I hit this place on my way home. So good. And we have no shortage of cheap Mexican food in Austin. I saw a couple order a breakfast plate with 2 fried eggs, beans and breakfast potatoes. I couldn’t find it on the menu, but the cashier knew what I wanted. Most people in line were ordering tacos(which looked great and HUGE), but I was hungover and needed breakfast. I will stop here every time!

After a bad experience at another Giddings establishment, this place was a welcomed relief. The servings are large, the prices are incredible and everything is clearly freshly made. It is also clear that this place is run by good people. I say that not because of all of the religious iconography(a «replica» of the 10 commandments was right behind my son’s head) but because of what I witnessed. The owner was speaking to her employees in Spanish and while I am not always a fan of doing so as to not be understood by others, in this case she doing it to avoid being to obvious. She told her employees, after having dealt with what appeared to be a very down on his luck gentleman and his mother, that if a customer did not have money to make sure that they were fed anyway. Classy lady…

Now, Tara, you MUST be a Yankee. There’s a reason why the line is out the door each and every Saturday. There’s a reason people wait 30 minutes for a breakfast taco. There’s a reason this place has been rated 4 and 5 stars, consistently. This place is NOT fancy. It is bare bones, excellent, food. Amazing fluffy(not flat) Tortillas, NOTGREASY!!! They have a little salt kick to them, which I LOVE. There is no doubt that the eggs and meats used are locally grown. Fresh, fresh, fresh. Closes in the afternoon, so get here in the morning. This isn’t a sit down and take your order place. It’s a You stand in line and order from the trays in front of you, the tacos are made while you watch. The TV is on blaring because every day, customers have to wait in line, it’s kind a noisy, fast paced place and it gives customers something to look at other than the back of the head of the person in front of them. Most people come in for a breakfast taco(I am not even aware if they sell anything else) and most orders are«to go». There are very few tables here but I have seen some occupied. Nothing I have ever eaten here has been the least bit greasy or watery. Everything is tasty and authentic. I’ve never had coffee here so I can’t comment. Hubby likes it though. I get the flavor and feel of Old Mexico when I come here(hence the blaring TV). And I love it. If you have an extra thirty minutes to kill, especially on a Saturday morning, please stop by here for a breakfast taco. You won’t be sorry. ***UPDATE*** We tried to go on a Saturday a couple of weeks ago, and the line was out the door. We didn’t have time to wait, so we went up the street a few blocks, on your left(as you are going west) is a little Mexican bakery.(if you hit the light going west, you’ve gone too far.) It’s actually called Mexican Bakery. it looks like a little house with steps going up to a front porch, gravel parking. The front of the house does not face 290, so you have to watch for this place. Anyway, they make breakfast burritos that rival Taqueria Chihuahua. Give it a try! We were glad we did.
