I have put off coming here since moving to the area, it always seemed so out of the way. Not only is it not as far off of 16 as it looks it is TOTALLY worth the drive. The scenery is nice but what is really nice is the staff, the clean facility and the super yummy, different and inventive food. Gig Harbor suffers from too many cheeseburgers IMO and The Hub is a nice change without going outside of the basic American food we all love. I had the mac and cheese, which was amazing. My boyfriend had the steak tacos, also amazing. We then went back for breakfast a few days later… also amazing, best breakfast I have had in Gig Harbor by far. And since I work in Tacoma it is going to be my new stop on the way home.

I thoroughly enjoy going here. It is a little out of town, bit totally worth it. Since we moved, this is the first place I’ve considered being a regular. They always have Harmon beer, so you’re good there. We get the clan chowder every time and it’s awesome every time. The pizzas are very good and interesting. We’ve always had excellent service as well.

This was my first time here after hearing a lot of buzz about this place. Had the happy hour fish tacos. Big mistake. I am currently sicker than a dog thinking I have food poisoning or something. The food isn’t worth getting sick over.

I really wish I could say I love this place. Just literally walked out. Taco Tuesday was why we decided to stop in. Excited — to only leave very disappointed. We ordered : steak tacos(which were very very dry. Almost like they had been siting out all day. Not even exaggerating. Cajun tots — either they were in waaay too long, or you guys need to clean /change your fryer oil. Fries — thought it came with sauce? Maybe I was wrong. Weren’t bad tasting though for thin potato wedges. Half salad — fresh, and the only delightful thing tonight And wings. Which. We’re also extremely dry and either fried too long or an oil temp /change issue. We had a gift card that we wanted to use, but told we couldn’t use it at this location — only Tacoma. Okay, fair enough– although we really only came because we had one… We get it. But, then our server was way to occupied with chatting to come by to give us our tab or then pick up the card that we walked up to the front to hand it to her instead. It’s normal dinner time … I’d understand more if it was close to closing :-( Sucks, I really gave it a chance.

I had the Rustica pizza with artichoke hearts, garlic and olives which was delish! My friend ordered a bacon florentine pizza with a gluten free crust which she said was great. Our server, Aurora, was amazing! She had great suggestions and top notch customer service. It’s right on the air strip so you can watch the planes take off/land. Prices were very reasonable.

Came in with my elderly parents, trying to pry them away from Dominoes, looking for pizza. The place was hopping with the happy hour crowd. Seems like a fun spot. The pizza was decent. Mom and Dad are traditionalists and we had your basic combo. The crust was a little underdone in the center, but otherwise light and crispy. Good balance of flavor on the sauce — I like mine a little zesty. I’ll put it on my list for a return visit.

Today I had the pleasure of Amanda and Valerie at the bar. They both had very good recommendations on beers when I was not to sure what kind of beer I would like. Pizza and salad were delicious!!! Most definitely will return for round 2!

This place should be the IT place in Gig Harbor! They have an amazing location and fantastic outdoor space. There are a couple of the staff that are wonderful… but only a couple… the rest have no personality. Also, you wait for your beverages for eons and good luck with water refills. The food here is over priced and not amazing. And then they got rid of those delicious candies by the door upon exit. Truly unfortunate! We have been multiple times for a quick dinner date and have taken our family here in hopes it is better than the last time… no such luck. Fantastic location and great idea for a family restaurant… in a town where everyone loves to dine out. The Hub could be so much more successful. Amp up the staff to being more customer oriented and put a bit more effort into the food… And this could be a gem with sought after seats!!!

We frequent this restaurant but that may change after our experience tonight. I ordered the blackened chicken penne pasta and it was extremely hot. I usually like spicy food but it was so spicy it was inedible. I ate a tiny bit of chicken off the top and then let my server know it was just too hot to eat. I was nice about it and he took it back to the kitchen. A little while later he brought us our check and the $ 14.99 meal was still on the bill. What horrible customer service. If a dish is sent back not eaten then you definitely shouldn’t be charging the customer for it.

The beer is pretty good, but can easily be bought some place else, which is what I recommend doing since this place sucks. The food lacks good flavor, although you wouldn’t be able to tell by the price of it. When we were ready to leave we asked for our check. Fifteen minutes later I went to the manager to ask for my check because the bar tender had not done it still. We were the only people at the bar. The only ones the bartender was waiting on. The manager was very nice about the situation and was very helpful, unlike the bartender. She was not helpful.

Again we walked out after sitting in the bar over 20 minutes and ignored by the many staff members standing around. Thought we would give this place another try on a Monday. It wasn’t busy and we still couldn’t get service. Good luck during the US Open. HACKERS at Madrona Golf course is just down the road. I highly recommend it.

Continues to the the ol’ standby, ever faithful pizza and beer joint with live music on certain evenings. The patio is great, weather permitting, and the beer is generally cold and plentiful. What I have come to enjoy the most is the close proximity to my residence, and of course the ambiance on the patio with the sun shining. Quality of service seems to be up, thanks to a few great servers. The menu changes frequently enough to keep things somewhat interesting. I say 3.825 stars if Unilocal would allow such an abstraction. Cheers

Headed out there Sunday for some happy hour. It was 6:05p, and we were told happy hour was over at 6. We went there purposely for happy hour after we checked the gig harbor location happy hour hours and it said«happy hour until close». We showed the waitress the website, and they said that the website was wrong. They gave us happy hour prices for 2 of our drinks, but we were forced to pay full price for everything else. The food is spendy, so our bill ended up being nearly 3 times what we were hoping to pay. Could have been an easy win for them to acknowledge the mistake, but that wasn’t the case. Good food and still friendly, but that was weird and a let down. I’m sure we will go again, but PLEASE call for hours as they don’t honor the website hours.

Always a great experience! Our kitchen away from home! Pat Nagle and his crew offer up good food and drink and a terrific environment! Unique airport location adds to fun! Really appreciate that they have live music!

They make a great Long Island! Ask for Kim And Elisse! The gluten free pizza is great too! When will they make a large? I am going to come back here!

The Hub is a nice restaurant by the airport. The night my wife and I visited there was live music playing that was very good. It was just one person and his guitar, but very entertaining. Despite being known for pizza, I ordered a steak(filet medallions). The flavor was good, but it was a little over cooked. Other than that the experience was very positive and I’m sure we’ll be back to try their pizza next time. The service was good in that my glass was never empty and I left with a full belly.

Beer is good at any Harmon establishment. The pizza at this Hub seemed a little thinner. The flavor was good despite the bottom being slightly burned. That wait staff is friendly and attentive.

The Blackened Chicken Penne is spicy. Sweat-on-forehead spicy. You have been warned. Good otherwise, though. So it just depends on whether you like picante or not.

While a bit out of the way I would definitely say The Hub in Gig Harbor is worth the trip, with a relaxed atmosphere and unique setting at the Tacoma Narrows Airport. I enjoyed really friendly service from their attentive staff and had a nice conversation with their manager Zack, it was obvious he takes a lot of pride in what he does there because it shows all over the establishment. The beer comes from the local brewery at The Harmon, and offers stupendous value especially considering the quality offered. I’m a huge fan of their ESB, very smooth. The pizza at the Hub is world class, great thin crusts, delicious sauces, and great toppings; I highly recommend the Multacarne. My wife had the chicken BLT and was quite the pleased with the flavor the airline added. However the showstopper for her were the sweet potato fries. She’s a big fan of them generally, so it’s backed by countless comparisons when she says they’re the best she’s ever had. I quote: like an orgasm on your tongue. The deserts are meant to be shared so keep that in mind when ordering.
