Tortes N Tarts

I had ordered my wedding cake from Kelly–
She was wonderful to meet and work with.
The cake delivered to my wedding was received while I was busy. Although it was absolutely gorgeous and delicious, it was not the cake that I had paid for. As it was the day of the wedding, we had no choice but to forget about the mess up for the time being.
We had talked, as well as its printed on the order, for a 2 tier square cake with grey ribbon and frosting pearls around the bases of both layers. As well as Easter lilies on the side and the top clear for our cake topper.
The caked we received was plain. No frosting pearls, no Easter lilies on the side, but one on the top that made it quite difficult to place the cake topper around it.
And to top it off, we did not receive a box for the top tier.
I was planning on hiring Kelly for our reception cake as well, but I’m just not a fan of spending my money on a cake I did not want.

Kelly did an unbelievably great job with the cake and desserts for our wedding! Her desserts were a huge hit with our guests and she made the whole process easy from planning to setup on our wedding day. She is amazing and you should definitely book an appointment with her!

Our wedding cake turned out exactly as we had asked for.
Usually wedding cakes are just for looks, but Kelly makes her cakes taste just as good as they look! Our guests loved it & since our caterer did not provide enough food, the cake was able to fill them up! Definitely would recommend her!

I don’t know why the reviewers that gave you less than 5 stars did, they both even said they like the cake and that you fixed anything that went wrong. Your score should be perfect! Your cakes are delicious! We had 2 different cupcakes made that we put on a cupcake stand. My hubby’s fav (carrot cake with buttercream frosting) and mine STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE which I still dream about and crave. Then we had a smaller cake made to put on the top of the stand which is the one we cut and shoved in each other’s mouth’s :) We tasted the exact kind of cupcakes we ordered. Kelly even delivered it to Lake Union from Gig Harbor! :) I highly recommend Tortes n Tarts to everyone!

Instead of having two cakes at our wedding, I decided to surprise my husband to be, Rob, with a groom’s cake at our engagement party. After contacting a handful of bakeries in the area, I decided to go with Tortes N Tarts.
I wanted a Minnesota Vikings cake with chocolate cake & chocolate filling. It would be his dream cake!
On the day of the engagement party, my mom brought the cake to the party. It looked amazing. I cannot say enough wonderful things where the artwork is concerned. However, upon cutting into it, we discovered that it was basically a strawberry shortcake style cake, with strawberry filling & a whipped filling & white cake (I am not a baker so that description may be poor). Anyway, it was not chocolate & I was livid, because Rob does not like strawberries or whipped cream. He had one piece of this cake & the majority of it was sent home with guests. I thought the cake tasted good but it was not what I had asked for.
In defense of the bakery, she had sent me a receipt that said strawberry on it. I figured the receipt was just for confirmation of payment and I did not check to see that the correct flavors were listed on it.
Also, once made aware of the situation, she did do a partial refund & offered to make us a free chocolate cake to enjoy. We took her up on her offer just last month for Rob’s birthday & the cake was delicious & she even went the extra mile & did a little decorating on it, which I thought was nice.
All in all, the quality of their desserts is very good. I definitely don’t want to write a bad review because they would not deserve that. Everyone makes errors and unfortunately, there was a big error with a cake that was very important to me! I have to appreciate Kelly’s customer service, however, and working to make it right.

I love tortes and tarts her cake and butter cream are amazing but her fruit pies are to die for what a great wedding we attended they served pie yum…
