The first issue is cleanliness. The cover up that was used on my daughter was never cleaned after the last haircut. It was covered in thick black curly hairs that resembled pubic hair. When my daughter got up she actually had some of the nasty hair on her and her sweater by her neck. I couldn’t wipe it off the sweater. Since I wasn’t close to home and had to get her to a birthday party I had to buy her a new sweater. Secondly, the cut was horrific. It was only a bang trim. My first request was don’t start the bang far back on her head. The stylist not just trimmed the bang but other hair that wasn’t the already existing bang with it. She claimed it was part of the bang but 4 inches off isn’t in my opinion. It was far back on her head. Also it wasn’t straight. She retried 2 more times and it still wasnt. She offered again but I declined due to not wanting to cut off more hair as it was already too short. She also cut it where it arched like a rainbow on her temples. At this point I just wanted to pay and leave. I could have done a better job at home than she did and not paid for it.

I always take my three boys here. My boys range from 3 – 12. We are always satisfied with the customer service, with the haircuts, and usually the wait time. My oldest boys both have autism and the girl who helps us always goes out of her way to make them as comfortable as possible. We started going here three years ago when we lived in Gilbert, and we continued to go there when we moved to Mesa. Worth the drive!

The staff at this location worked with me to help me get my very scared 2 ½ year old son a hair cut. We just moved to this area from out of state. Before we moved, we took our son to a different type of salon, and they were never able to finish his haircut. We tried 4 times. He would freak out(shaking, kicking, even biting). We had been to a Cool Cuts in the past, but they were about an hour drive from our old house. When I saw there was a location here in Chandler, I had to visit. My goal was to make my son feel comfortable and safe in this environment. I went out of my way to take him to this location every time I needed to stop at Walmart for something, which is right next door. We would visit, playing with the train table, looking at the movie/game choices, pick out a toy that he planned to get after he actually got his hair cut. The staff was very accommodating. They understood, and they worked with us to make him feel comfortable. Each time, they offered him lollipops, but I told him he had to at least sit in one of the chairs to get one, which worked. Each time we were there, he’d get more and more comfortable. We eventually picked a day and put it on the calendar that we’d be getting his haircut. It took probably 5 visits before we did that. The day of his haircut, we did not have an appointment. He started to get scared before we even left our house. When we arrived, it took a little coaxing to get him in the door, but we just said, «Let’s go play and look at the toys.» He was pretty relaxed after that. We had about a 20 – 30 minute wait, which I expected on the weekend, and actually worked in our favor. When it was his turn, we had to coax him a little. He sat on my lap without any smock on either of us(my choice). He had his chosen movie on the TV, but the stylist also moved the chair so he could see the mirror and the TV at the same time. The stylist was so amazing with our son. She interacted with him. She let him comb his own hair while she combed it. She squirted water on our whole family, one at a time, and even herself. She took the scissors and trimmed off a tip of a piece of her own hair to show him it wouldn’t hurt. She eventually started trimming in the back, and he did freak out a little. She gave him a job to brush the trimmings off of her hand, his clothing, and mine, too. He would take turns watching her, watching the movie, and eating a lollipop. She was actually able to use the clippers on him! The end result was fantastic, and he was so proud of himself for being brave after it was over. I was so impressed!

We took our son here about a month ago and we absolutely loved it. It was his first haircut and the girl who did his hair was very friendly and patient.(I don’t remember her name, but she was blonde, young, and has an infinity tattoo on her wrist — only remember that because it’s in the pictures! :)) Our little guy doesn’t get to watch TV at home, so he didn’t care much to watch when the turned it on as a distraction. She did not mind this and gave him a few minutes to look around while he got used to the new environment. She gave us exactly the cut we asked for and was very quick, and paid great attention to detail. The girl who helped us obviously loves what she does and has enjoys working with kids. If you are looking for a no-wait visit, we went on a Sunday afternoon and the only other people we saw was a little getting seated just as we were finishing up. We are planning to go back in the next couple of weeks since our little guy’s hair grew so fast(which she warned us about!), and I had to look their name up again so we could call and get our name in.

Took our(biracial) toddler to get his hair cut. The woman(didn’t tell us her name but she was middle-aged, petite with shoulder length brown hair) looks at me, looks at My son and asks what haircut his parents want. Then, tries to confirm that I am just the nanny. I don’t know if I should feel delighted for looking like a young, fabulous nanny, or offended that she didn’t believe that he could possibly be my child. Social ignorance at its finest. I should have left but was so taken aback that we went to the chairs. She tried to put us at a dirty station with clumps of hair everywhere. We asked for a different chair and we’re not offered a video at the station for him. The haircut itself was okay but a bit uneven. I give two stars because when my husband took him previously, service was good and the other ladies were patient and kind to our little man. A cut ran about $ 20, except when we were sent coupons via email. He has curly, course hair and I do find it to often be uneven in the front by his face. I usually end up trimming that. They have a Thomas the Train table in front which our kiddo is obsessed with. However, due to our experience, we won’t be back to this location.

Had a horrible experience! We made an appointment with one stylist & had someone else cut our son’s hair. Asked her to taper up the sides with clippers & trim the top a bit(just a shorter version of his existing haircut) but what he got was pretty much a buzz cut for the military. She didn’t seem good with kids & we never even got her name! Will never come here again! I had to leave the store b/c I was so upset — have family holiday pics & pics with Santa schedule for this week & will have to reschedule because his haurcut looks that bad!

We came to this kids salon for my daughter’s first hair cut. We were willing to pay $ 20 for a trim because she would be able to sit in a fun car and be entertained. I would never come here again. The salon was dull and dirty looking! Was hardly a «kid» salon. My daughter wasn’t able to sit in a car chair or have anything entertaining to take her mind off of the situation. This place has nothing on Snip It and I should have just gone there.

Nice people, good haircuts. What more can I say? We’ve been coming to see Sonia and Crystal for years.
