LADIESANDGENTLEMEN… ummmmm…GENTLEMEN!!! go get your heads trimmed at this joint. Its always busy… which means its good. I made the mistake of going to some other chop shop when I couldn’t get in here and I walked out looking like Loyd Christmas. All the hair slayers working here know how to do it correctly. Want a spikey doo for a night out with the frat boys? Done. Want that fade up to the GQ side part thing going on lately in all the magazines in the Frys checkout lines??? Done! I have never left this man palace(sounded tighter in my head) without a good trim. oh… and you can get yourself an ICEEEEEECOLDDDDIIIEEEEEEEE(beer) while you wait for your wig murderer to finish murdering whoevers nugget they are slaughtering with class. Just shut up and go here to get a good trim and talk about how much everyone hates vegtables(I take total pride in spelling that terrible word wrong) DISCLAIMER*** — Slayer, Murderer and Slaughtering are all good things when talking about man hair. Never EVER let a woman say this to their hair stylist… it has a double meaning and probabbbllyyy wont go over too well with them.

My first time here. It was incredible! Tony greeted me with a hand shake, turned me over to Mark, who then gave me a shave and a haircut. Straight razor shave by the way! The absolute best experience I’ve ever had in a barber shop! And, it is more than a barber shop. Incredibly nice people, they made me feel like I have been coming here for years. And now, this is the only place I will go. I am going to tell all my friends about this amazing place.

Ok so first let me say that I live in Ahwatukee, and I rarely ever change anything with barbershops or my hair. But after letting my hair grow out for 7 weeks, I decided it was time for a change. So I went here, and was impressed by the professionalism and openness displayed by the barbers. I highly recommend Wayne, who knew exactly what to do when I said I wanted my usual 2.5 inches off everything with a side part, but maybe with a slight fade. What I really appreciated, and what no other barber I’ve had has ever done to this extent, is constantly show me the different lengths that he was cutting for the different parts of the haircut I wanted, and asked me if I was comfortable. Guy even trimmed my beard and styled it without me even asking. It was about a right price(maybe a little high) at $ 29, but I’ll definitely be back

Update: Tony the owner contacted me and made things right. He offered a refund and to fix my cut. I would return back as he handled this in a professional manner. I went there for the first time with very high expectations after I saw the reviews and photos of some of the cuts. When I arrived, I asked for a simple taper cut and told the guy cutting my hair that I wanted a 1 with the clippers to be the shortest he would go for the taper cut. The stylist/barber seemed confused and gave me a 1 that went up the back of my head and up the side of my head. It seemed like he did some kind of undercut, not really sure though. Anyways, I will not return to this place. Did not know the name of the stylist but it was not anyone advertised on the photos within their website.

First time bringing my son in and everyone was very nice and a very clean place. My son was very happy with his haircut we will definitely be back. It’s hard finding a good barbershop here in Arizona!

The gentlemen at EMG gave me and all the other customers such dope cuts! Everyone looked good walking out of here. I was in town for a bit and needed to freshen up so I looked on Unilocal and found this place. The environment is relaxed with some good decorations and they offer free drinks, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, to ease the pain of the wait a little bit. The barbers were joking around with one another and having a great time working, which was pretty cool. I’m often told that my hair is difficult to cut because it is thick and very straight, meaning that whenever I get any kind of a fade, or anything short at all, it’s really easy to tell where the barber messed up or missed. As a result, I don’t usually walk out of a barbershop completely satisfied with the work done. That was definitely not the case at EMG as my barber did an awesome, detailed job and made sure that I had my haircut how I liked it. As a first time customer, I could not have been happier. Long story short, the next time I’m in the Phoenix area, I’m definitely going to drop by and get another elite haircut. LPT: Be sure to take cash! They charge a small fee for cards.

Great hair cut and a beer??? I’ll take it! They got me right in and gave me a 5 star cut and a brew to go with it!!! Nothing like a fresh cut from this crew!

My 18-month old son just got his second haircut by Tony… He had to work around a temper tantrum, and still did an incredible job! I showed him«sorta» what I wanted, and the cut & style was perfect once again. I will post a photo or two soon, just wanted to make sure everybody knows you don’t have to take your cool little toddler dude to a cookie-cutter children’s joint. You can go to a fantastic barber shop instead. Tony’s affordable, accommodating, and precise, we’ll definitely keep going back!

Can’t beat this place; Support this local business! Took my boys to a different barber shop that was run down, and they got decent hair cuts but my kids complained that they were hurting them and pressed the clippers hard into their heads. Well after that, I did more research and this place deserves all the stars. My boys went, place was well kept, clean, and comfortable for both men and women. The two barbers fit my boys in with an appointment same day, they did an excellent job listening to what mom wanted. Both men took their time and didn’t mind going over small details I perferred. Prices where great, $ 13 I think for each boy. Definitely recommend this place, my husband is switching as well. Good job guys, keep up the good work and great attitudes.

I’m not picky about my hair. I’ve done super Cuts. I’ve cut my own hair. I’ve never asked whoever was cutting my hair to change it even if it was jacked up. I judge the time to cut my hair by how messy it is when I take off my work uniform hood — if it looks totally jacked then it is time to cut it. I’ve had everything from a shaved bald head to Hanson hair. Unlike many guys, I don’t feel the need to get my hair cut on a set schedule. This is my disclaimer — I’m not a barber connoisseur. With that said, I do like places where«guys can be guys» and one of those places is the barber shop(get your head out of the gutter, I’m not talking about strip clubs). I think that charm is lost in places like Super Cuts. What I mean by all this is a place where guys can come for some sort of friendship and BS about whatever is on their mind — sports, girls, family, jobs, or just their date that night and be more assured to have that«male bonding» of another dude. Not the chest-beating male bonding found in the gym or at the bar… but more of an old-school bonding… with your barber. Some guy who is part of the community. Admittedly, I am a little too young to really remember any of this as I feel like many of these places died off decades ago in exchange for chains where being cheap is more important than comradeship. No many«Tom’s Barber Shop» where you could count on Tom being there to give you a trim or to give you advice about your upcoming date or talk sports with you. So my judgement is more of what I’ve seen in movies. I feel that EMG kind of is different in that way. All the barbers are talking with their chaired patrons and other chaired patrons. Everyone is talking sports, girls, sports, or whatever. guys in the waiting room are chiming in and the barbers are all talking with them too. I’ve been to other barber shops where even talking to your barber seems awkward, much less everyone there. And talking at one of the chains is not happening either. Sure, you won’t have a busty blonde chick leaning over to trim your bangs like you do at Sport Clips… nor will you have one of their packages… but you will have that smaller feeling of an old school shop. The price is about average, with it maybe being a touch higher than other places especially considering there isn’t any sort of packages like you can get at Sport Clips. If you can, bring cash. It helps out small businesses with their operating costs. Here is the down and dirty on the place though — getting in is a bit old school too. On weekdays they will take appointments or walk-ins, but if you walk-in be ready to wait a long time especially if there is only one barber there. Even if you make an appointment, you very well may be waiting. So if you’re a busy person or don’t like to wait, this may be a huge negative for you. On the weekends they do not take appointments, so keep this in mind too. I would like to see Tony figure out a more modern or formalized method of scheduling appointments. NOTE: The only person I have had cut my hair is Tony himself. Jay has also been there but I refuse to let him touch my hair since he is a dirty Michigan Wolverine and I am a Buckeye.

I had to beg my husband and son to try this place after some really bad experiences at other recommend shops/salons. Thank you to those that have posted photos as that was very helpful in getting them there. Love the fun these guys have while working their magic! They’re definitely professionals and know how to master both clips and scissors! Never going anywhere else! They did an awesome job styling my husband, teen and toddler!
