Quentin Defense

I bought a 308 lower from Quentin Defense and began an 18 month journey to try to get a functioning gun together. Supposedly their stuff is «DPMS pattern», but no DPMS uppers work with their lowers. I went to DPMS and tried a handful of uppers on, then they pulled out a carton of stripped uppers and I tried on 10 or so of them with no luck. Couldn’t even push the pins through.
I brought my Quentin Defense 308 lower receiver to gun shows over the next few months and tried different uppers on it. I tried 20 or so uppers with no luck. Some didn’t fit, some didn’t line the bolt up with the buffer tube, and some had a conflict with the bolt release.
I gave up this past Friday, went back to Quentin Defense and tried to get an upper built. They talked me out of it and into a prebuilt upper they had on the shelf. I noticed it was well used, but sold to me as new. I figured it was no big deal, I’d finally have the thing working. I went to put my silencer on and couldn’t. I tried another one, no luck. I took a look at the muzzle threads and shoulder area. Don’t drink and lathe. There is no shoulder on the muzzle for a muzzle device. There are a series of bulging tapers that prevent muzzle devices from being used. Also the crown is a weird, deep 45 degree cut.
I returned the upper and sold them back the complete lower for $ 50 because I couldn’t in good conscience sell it to anyone. The lower won’t work with anything but Quentin Defense uppers, and those either don’t work or don’t exist. I wasn’t going to sell that lower and force somebody to buy a Quentin Defense upper. There are like 30 alternatives and any one of them will work.

Purchased my very 1^st handgun from Quentin Defense. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Jason & Jim were very helpful and patient in answering all my questions. I’ve shopped around at 3 other gun stores here in the valley and this place is by far the nicest and friendliest. Their prices were also better than the other stores in the valley that I checked out. Additionally, I asked about the price of their FLL transfer fees (in case I ever purchase something online in the future) and they are hands-​down the cheapest I’ve seen in the valley. This will definitely be my «go to» place for all my firearm needs. Thank you Jason at Quentin Defense for helping this newbie get set up with his first gun!

The best local firearms shop in AZ! I have done a lot of research on who has the best prices and these guys have some amazing deals. Their firearms are also some of the best quality I have fired, very good for the price. Family owned and great people, I highly recommend!

I’ve been using QD for several years now. I first became aware of them through their military branch lowers, but the service and AR parts selection keeps me coming back.
Quentin Defense manufactures their own receivers, as well as receivers branded by other companies. The QD billet receivers are on par with the best in the business, and I’ve built several rifles based on them in both 5.56 and 7.62.
I also use QD for FFL transfers. Their prices are good, and they minimize any hassle. All-​in-​all, Quentin Defense is my preferred gun shop in the valley.

What can I say? Quentin defense is awesome. I have done several transfers through them and I’m in and out within 10 or 15 minutes. The staff is always courteous and friendly. These guys are the best. Highly recommended !!!

I have had nothing but great experiences with these guys. They are nice, accommodating, and have great deals on FFL transfer fees. I would not hesitate to do business with them.

Thic company is a bunch a crooks they sent me the wrong parts then after 9 months they finally gave me my money back less $ 1200 for a restocking fee buyer beware. i will never purchase anything from these people again
