Peggy was great! Went to a Pet Painting session last night with a friend & it was a lot of fun. I am not very artistically inclined & a perfectionist, so it was a little difficult for me, but it was fun once I realized what to do. Peggy was very helpful in showing me what to do next and how to fix things that I thought didn’t look good. I am really pleased with how my picture turned out!

This is the nicest painting class and place I have ever been to! Peggy, the instructor, is a genuinely nice, good-hearted person. She is very talented and doesn’t judge you or your skills. This is the only painting class I’ve ever been to where she doesn’t just walk around, she also will help you and do some of it for you so it will look extra good. She will also take the time to show you and teach you exactly what she’s doing. I’ve never had someone take so much time to help you before. She really goes above and beyond. I have a visual impairment and need extra help, and she actually took the time to understand that about me and to give me extra help. She is very busy with lots of other people in the class to help, but she still somehow found the time to make my sketch extra dark and to help me with my colors that I have trouble seeing. And she didn’t forget about me. She kept finding time to come back and check on me, as she did with everyone else. Nt to mention it is also one of the cheapest priced classes I’ve been to. And after the class, she gives you a card to ensure you will always be locked in at that rate. They also offer other fun and different classes like paint your own wine glass, which they provide. It truly was one of the best experiences. She made it very nice for me, and I will definitely be back!

Had a great time for the BYOB pet painting class. Staff said this was the biggest class yet. Class of 30 and It didn’t seem over crowded. Staff and class host Peggy were friendly and very helpful! She took us through each step and gave us great painting tips. My boyfriend and I were the last people out of the class. We stayed past scheduled time but we were having too much fun! Thank you for this awesome experience! I suggest taking a BYOB class!

Really enjoyed our experience here for BYOB paint night. Purchased a Groupon for $ 48 for two people and arrived early, as we knew it was first come, first served for seating. Doors opened at 6:45 for our 7PM event. Peggy scanned our Groupon voucher from our phone and we sat at seats that were already set up with the easels, water and brushes. There are only about 12 people at a time to make the group manageable for one instructor. There are books filled with sample paintings(about 20 – 25) to choose from. We were disappointed that each booklet had a differing variety of options, thus your dream painting could be on someone else’s booklet. I wish there were a full book at each station. Since everyone potentially chooses a different picture, Peggy must make her way around the room Definitely sit with your back to the check-in desk, because Peggy always seems to start on that end for her one-on-one instruction. My husband and I were at the end on the other side(facing the door) and were always last, thus sat there with nothing to do for quite some time. However, when Peggy does get to you and give instructions, it is super helpful. She allows you to choose differing paint colors and shows you on a pallet the techniques to master your painting step by step. To save everyone time and get people going more quickly, it would be beneficial to have people who chose the same painting gather for one instruction. A lady in front of me was doing the same picture as me but I had to wait about 20 min. to get the same exact instructions. She gauges your comfort level with painting and alters her level of assistance accordingly. For my non-artistic husband, she penciled an outline of his tree and owl. I am not super artistic but enjoy the challenge so she let me go wild. There is a coffee station for $ 1, a fridge to store your booze, cups, bottle openers and plates for snacking. It is right next to Auto Zone in the Fry’s complex(where we stopped for chilled wine prior to arrival). No one was done in the 2 hours and Peggy patiently waited for people to finish up. We were the first to leave at 9:40(class ended at 9). We left with coupons in hand for 50% off next time. I will bring my sister(and two bottles of wine instead of one) with me when she visits in November. Lots of fun!

Great location but horrible customer service. Owner overbooked our class and then was rude to our group because we were the last to arrive. Acted inconvenienced when we asked for easels to be set up and seemed tired or burned out to be there. The actual painting portion was fun(minus Peggy’s attitude) but I can’t recommend this venue due to the poor customer service ruining the overall experience for our group.

If you have any artistic ability this place is for you. There is more freedom & less instruction. You can go to the class– but it’s really like just receiving pointers. You pick one of many things to paint & the instructor walks around to help. If you need more than that you may want to go to the places where you all paint the same picture & you get walked through it step by step. I have been here twice & had fun, even though i really don’t know what I’m doing!

None of us were artists but we sure felt like one night of! Had a great time. Peggy helped coach us as needed. Let us stay until we were finished… who knew it took so long to paint! We really enjoyed it and would do it again!

rudest customer«service» ever. I have never been treated so poorly for no apparent reason. I will never go back to this place. Horribly rude employees. What a waste of time & money. Only go here if you want to be belittled, given dirty looks, and treated poorly.

I really enjoyed my visit at Sun Dust Gallery. Peggy, the art teacher is fantastic! She is very attentive, kind and helpful. She gives very clear feedback and is very encouraging! I highly recommend it. This was my second visit and I found an awesome groupon. I will be back again, and many more times!

What a great time! A friend spotted a Living Social deal — and decided to organize a girls night. So much fun! We all met up for dinner, and headed here with beer and wine and desire to laugh and make art. Mission accomplished! I had been hesitating to go to one of these places — at is seems you have to paint the one picture they give you on that night, Here, there was a book with about 30 selections to choose from — and some of the women painted things they found online. The instructor was friendly and helpful — offered tips, suggestions and as much or as little guidance as each person wanted. She was also accommodating that I wanted to completely change the color scheme of the painting I chose. All in all — great night, lots of laughs, new friends, stronger bonds with old friends — and a really cute souvenir or the night to hang on my wall. Great concept — great place, looking forward to doing it again!

Thanks to Unilocal I found SunDust and the hot boyfriend and I went in to make a couple of pictures for my kitchen. The cool thing about SunDust is that you can literally walk in at anytime before 6pm and paint to your hearts content. The prices are not bad considering that everything is provided for you. Peggy, the owner is very nice and helpful, but doesn’t hover, which I appreciate. We will be back again soon!

Had a groupon for BYOB painting. I was a little disappointed because I expected some instruction but they said paint whatever you want — they had some examples that they would give some assistance with but you were free to use your creativity. I wanted my structure but my friends were great with this concept. I drank more wine than my friends and all left happy and would go back.

We did the walk-in studio. Had a good time and my daughter liked the place. The staff walk around and give you tips. 11×14 stretched canvas is $ 20, 16×20 is $ 30 plus the studio fee. It was fun but will not return for that price. They supply with poor quality art supplies(cheap brushes and acrylic paint).

A girlfriend and I bought Living Social deals a few months ago for a BYOB paint class and finally made our reservations to get our paint on. By the time we were ready to schedule, we realized our vouchers had long been expired, but luckily SunDust is gracious in accepting expired deals and we just had to pay an additional $ 10 to take the class. **Note, not only are they now located in Gilbert, AZ(check website for new address), but Google maps will not take you to the right location. Their gallery shares a lot with Fry’s Food and AutoZone and they’re next to State Farm and TruWest Credit Union I arrived a few minutes early to take care of payment and had some time to browse the art while waiting for my friend to arrive. The art they have showcased is very impressive and there was a lot of great deals in their«clearance» section. I meant to buy a photo but definitely forgot on my way out :( There was about 11 of us in the class and I’m convinced painting classes are a great way to meet people and wind down. Everyone was very friendly and Peggy was a great host and instructor. You are able to pick a painting for inspiration out of a book, or you can paint your own creation. I liked being able to pick my own piece but, and my only knock, is that with everyone doing something different, it was hard to keep moving along with only one instructor. The class ended an hour later than scheduled because everyone was still working. It was enjoyable and I didn’t even notice the added length, but I think having another person on staff would help things more smoothly. Their old location was much closer so I don’t know how soon I’ll be back, but I had a great time and would recommend them to friends.

Went here with a friend and a Groupon and had an awesome time. This is different from the places where there is a painting of the night that everyone ends up trying to copy or mimic. Instead, there are about 40 small pictures up on the wall and you can pick one to try and mimic, or come with your own design. The teachers roam and help with painting tips and take care of distributing paint and helping clean up. We brought a bottle of wine and had tons of fun. This would be a great place for a bachelorette party or something similar. I’d love to come back– my painting is now hanging up in our office and I love the way it turned out.

very, very cool. neat little gallery with the option to use their painting room. i love to paint but i hate buying paints and i hate worrying about getting it on stuff in my house. so this was PPPEEEEERFECT for me. i went in with a friend and we went to town. i bought a 16×20 canvas for $ 20 and painted a masterpiece. this is way better than as you wish bc i was seriously running out of random ceramic things to paint. now i can make my own artwork which i just love because i am AMAZINGLY talented. i will totally make you a canvas too, no big deal ;) i’ll even sign it. i have one wall that i would love to make a piece of artwork for but it requires a super large canvas so next time i am going to call to see if he’d let me use his space but bring my own canvas and i’ll pay whatever fee he wants. they offer classes as well and you can BYOB. after this, i downloaded the Joann app on my phone for a 50% off coupon and i bought a frame for my new artwork. it’s now framed and hung in my house.

The BFF and I ended up here thanks to Groupon. Not only is it a gallery, but you can paint in the back. SO much fun! Lots going on here. Three sizes of canvas to choose from – 8×10, 16×20, and one bigger. Acrylic paints, aprons provided so it doesn’t stain your clothes. Books and art(sculpture, paintings, jewelry) in the gallery for inspiration. Suggestions and praise from the guy running the place(who was really nice and helpful). He knew a lot about art, teaches classes, etc. Prices: $ 10 studio fee and then you buy the canvas. Can’t remember canvas prices offhand, but they were really reasonable. $ 25 for the 16×20(maybe?). They also have a bring your own wine class! Check out their website for more details: I’ve attached a picture of my end result. It’s awesome, no big deal…:o)
