Ultimate Tan

Best tanning salon I’ve used in AZ in 10 years. I originally went in just to take advantage of their free one week offer, but was instantly impressed & haven’t been disappointed yet.
First off, their one week offer is truly a free week. It isn’t a guise to get you in only to find out it’s only for the crappy beds where you then get suckered in to expensive upgrades, like every other place I’ve ever had offer free trials (which isn’t very manny places either, I’ll point out.) My free week included even the Platinum level bed & standup (high pressure UV).
Also, the beds are incredible! I don’t tan all the time, but I have frequently in the past. Usually, I have no problem quickly adding time without getting red. This is the first place I’ve actually had to follow a more gradual increase and it’s because the beds are amazing and they obviously change the bulbs very frequently too! I got amazing color by following staff recommended times & bed suggestions during my one week even!
And finally, speaking of the staff, they are WONDERFUL! Each & every girl I’ve encountered has been genuinely helpful and very professional. We all know the type of employees that tanning salons can sometimes attract (beautiful, but b! tchy) this is DEFINITELY not the case. They’re gorgeous, yes, but super sweet & I don’t get that «you’re interrupting me sitting here texting my boyfriend» look that I’ve known to happen elsewhere LOL. I even bring my 5 year old there with me & she is always welcomed and able to sit on the couch in the front playing on my phone while I tan & loves going cuz she usually scores a Hershey’s kiss.
I’m happy to have found this place & would highly recommend anyone and everyone to give them a shot as well. I’ll continue to tan here, driving 15 mins from my house and passing some alternative places on the way :)

I had canceled my membership here and went to collect my lotions and goggles late last year. The woman at the front desk talked me into thinking about reinstating the membership and leaving my lotions there. I did, and I forgot about it. Very recently, I joined a gym that has tanning beds and thought about tanning a little again and remembered my lotions and goggles were still at Ultimate Tan, or so I thought. When I go there today to get them, the same lady who talked me into leaving my stuff was there and said «they were probably thrown out since it has been so long. You should have gotten a letter.» And then nothing. Well, I did not get a letter, phone call, singing telegram, or any other form of communication to notify me that the two lotions and goggles I had purchased had been thrown out.
She offered no other recourse. After much prompting, she found a bottle of the moisturizer lotion that I had used with no name and said that it was probably mine. When I asked about the tanning lotion, she again just said it was thrown out and I should have gotten a letter. Trying to make light of the situation which I felt was extremely poor customer service, I just said «that’s fine, it may have not been good anymore by now. I at least want another set of goggles though.» She digs through a pile of dirty goggles as they apparently no longer sell the style I had originally and cleans them. Meanwhile my son is looking at sunglasses and picks one up to show me. I immediately tell him to put them back and not to mess with anything. She IMMEDIATELY after me says to my kid «those aren’t a toy. Put them back now!» Excuse me lady, but that is my kid and I already took care of it, so back the f*** off.
I go out and discover the goggles she gave me were oily. I go back in and ask for a different pair, and she begrudgingly cleans another pair off.
I was actually going to buy new tanning lotions and supplies in addition to collecting my lotions, even after she abruptly told me my stuff was thrown away without so much as an apology or any offer to rectify the situation. But after she yelled at my kid, forget it. I will never come back here again for any reason whatsoever. The staff is rude and the customer service is terrible.

This is hands down the BEST tanning salon in Arizona. And I would know, I’ve tried almost all of them out.
The staff is extremely friendly and willing to work with you on your tanning needs. The facilities are clean, modern, and inviting and an extra bonus that I love are the free chocolates :) haha. They have a great variety of beds as well as other commodities. I’ve now been tanning with Ultimate tan for 2 years and during that time I’ve never had to wait for an open bed more than 3x. They have a great supply of lotions and even some clothing and accessory options. TRY THEM OUT! I’m a lifer.

The girls that work here are always so sweet. The place is clean and I even bought a shirt from them that I have had tons of compliments from. Their spray tans are the best in the area. It’s funny how little things make a big difference though bc I really like that they leave a wet wipe and a chocolate on the regular beds, and that they will hold your lotion and glasses for you so you don’t forget them. Their hours are good too, much later than most tanning places I have been to.

This place is really nice. I have been to my fair share of tanning salons and this place is greeat! I love it. Clean, well maintained, totally new beds. Nice personnel. Whoever was whining about the finger scan technology has a screw loose. So what ?? They scan your finger to bring your account up more quickly and so no one rips off your paid tans. This isn’t big brother. It’s called high tech. If that would stop you from going to this really nice salon then you are an idiot. They even give you one week free to try out this place. My son who is 22 and I both go here and have had a lovely experience. Highly recommended. Don’t pay attention to the whiners on here with their petty complaints. Geesh every business should be run this well.

So a few days ago I got a letter in the mail from this tanning salon. It was a personalized letter from the owner apologizing for the poor service I received. He thanked me for bringing the matter to their attention. I realized they had my address on file when I signed up and they obviously figured out who I was from my Unilocal review.
He has instructed his staff to give everyone 5 minutes to undress. He also mentioned I wasn’t the only one to decline the thumbprint scanner. I do know that my husband was the first, or so they said, but that’s besides the point. He went into the reason they have the thumbprint scanner (to avoid people using other people’s packages), which I understand. In my opinion, a photo ID would work just as well, but it’s not my business of course.
I was really taken aback that a business owner would go out of their way to send a personalized letter apologizing for bad service. As a token of good will, he offered me a month of free gold-​level tanning or spray tanning. Thank you!
